Overcomer - Episode 16

 

Omotola's POV.

Stephanie was badged as the assistant head girl towards the end of my SS1 second term, I was enjoying my self to the fullest, I disobeyed seniors and no one has the effontery to punish me, I had back up.

To me, my life is getting better, I was becoming happy, no trouble here and there, I have decided that since life won't give me the joy I deserve, I will get from life the joy I truly deserve.

Stephanie helped me a lot with my studies, but that wasn't Enough, I love to be the best, I studied very hard and I was becoming the best in my class, I Started coming 1st in my class, everyone started respecting me, even my juniors wanted to be my friends,. I promised myself one thing that I won't be proud, no matter what,  Senior Aisha finally graduated though I wasn't really close to her again, since Stephanie came into the picture, but I still miss her.

I was made an acting punctuality prefect in my SS2 second term,  we need to relieve the SS3 a little their exams where fast approaching, I was placed under the supervision  of Senior Mercy, she is one person I admire a lot, she is Stephanie's classmate , she has been my secret role model, Stephanie wont allow me go close to other seniors, she was over protective of me . Mercy is very intelligent , she has been the best in her set from JSS1 till date. 

Stephanie was so angry when she found out Mercy is my supervisor, she tried to swap me with another prefect, but Mercy refused.

One day, Mercy called me to her hostel, I hurriedly went, sit down she said, Omotola you will not be a punctuality prefect, she said

. I looked at her in shock, excuse me senior, I don't understand, did I do something wrong.

She smiled and said, you didn't do anything wrong, and am not saying you won't be a prefect,  she paused, then continued, your story will be a lesson to many people, I looked at her , what story, my life is not that type you will be proud of, so what lessons do anyone need to learn from it,  I said to myself.

She held my hands,Tola look at me she said and i smiled, so she is also a le*bian, how come she looks so religious, I said to myself. 

I know you are a lesbian and I can decide to report you to the school authorities now, and you know what that means, my heart began to beat fast, I couldn't say a word, how did she know, i i thought know one knew about Stephanie ,Bisi and I, they have a special room, no one enters without permission , i  said to myself.

She looked at me, but I won't do that, thank you I said almost kneeling down, because you have a greater assignment, before that you need to stop this le*bianism any way you can. You can go, I will talk to you later.

I was so scared, I didn't tell Bisi and Stephanie, I tried to, but I couldn't, then I started avoiding them because anytime I see them, I hear Mercy's voice

For two weeks I avoided  Stephanie, I thought of the consequences,  what If mercy reported, my mom will be so disappointed in me, she believes I s*duced my stepfather, I  I looked for means to take excuse to go home, but none worked,  i was super excited, my mom gave birth that period, so i use the opportunity to go home, at least be free from this troubles for sometime, then I made a decision to put an end to this lesbianism, I don't like the whole idea from the first place, I just find myself doing it.

I spent 4 days at home, I was happy Mr Alabi didn't have my time, he was planning  for his children's naming ceremony.

When I got to school, i summoned the courage to tell Stephanie, as soon as she saw me, she hugged me, darling have missed you, she said trying to kiss me, Stephanie I came here for something very serious, I am no longer interested in this le*bianism, I want us to quit this. 

It's too late Tola, I am head over heels for you, I can't let you  go , you cant just break up with me, you cant. shesaid, 

I have made my decision and that is final. You better don't try it, or you will not be a prefect again. She said.

It's better not to bear that title, than to face shame and humiliation, I said walking away.

Stephanie's POV

I was hyper excited to see Tola, it's been a while i said trying to kiss her, she stopped me, I came here for something serious, she broke up with me, no one break up with me, I do and am still in love with her.

She had the effontery to tell me, she prefer not to be a prefect , I swear to God, I will destroy this girl, I will make her life miserable, I said to Bisi, 

I warned you about this girl, I never liked her, if not for you and I couldn't bear to lose you she said kissing me, is been a while we did this alone, let me cool your temper, she said.

Mercy's POV

I was very happy when Tola told me, she has told Stephanie she was no longer interested in being a lesbian.

I have been praying for her , all this while, now it's time for me to help you do the right thing. I said to her

Mercy, am scared Stephanie won't take things easy with me, she has been sending me threats letters, what am I going to do.

Don't worry Omotola, everything will be alright, I want you to know that you have done the right thing, Can I ask you a question.

What made you opt for l*sbianism???.

She looked at me and started crying, I tried consoling her, it took about 20mins, before she started talking, it's a long story,  she said.

Please cut it short , I replied.
