My Past My Future - Episode 1

 

I got down from taxi, looking tired and worn out and yea this is the life of a finalist. From waiting for almost two hours for my supervisor, going five times to the cyber cafe to make necessary correction and trying to impress my supervisor to allow me follow a certain table of content. Infact He surprised me by staying for five hours because of my work reading it page by page, gush I can't wait to graduate.
I waved to some of my friends outside our lodge and smiled to some while I trudged slowly to my door. I fumbled my bag looking for my key then it occurred to me that my roommate was around when I left for school . I brought out my phone and dialed her number with bestie showing boldly on my scream. She picked on the second ring and promised to be home immediately. Nothing else to do because most of the people's outside are guys, I sat down on the pavement playing my best game word cookie.
    Hey, somebody greeted me. I looked up from my phone I was playing word cookie game. I smiled at him trying to be nice because I couldn't place his face. He stretched out his hands, smiling charmingly while introducing himself 
"my name is Frank and am looking for my sister Lizzy, you must be her roommate right"  
Ahhh, now I remember, Lizzy told me about her brother who will be visiting today.
I took his hands which is so warm and soft but I hate to admit it 
"am Chioma, Lizzy's roommate" I said still smiling or will I say trying to be nice "she will soon be here" I was still talking when Lizzy came in and hugged her brother while apologising for keeping us outside.
 I shrugged not saying anything because I was really tired and the only thing I need is to sleep. 
Lizzy opened the door and we all went in "forgive my manners Big Bro, this is my roommate Chioma and Chioma this is my Big Bro Frank. The only guy that can disturb for Africa" she said smiling while tugging the brothers arm. 
  Don't worry baby sis, we have already introduced ourselves he replied smiling towards me.
Arrrgggghhhhhh, what does this guy take himself for or is he aware of the effect his smile has on girls.
"Well yea Lizzy, we have already done that, can you excuse me I need to take my bath

. I whispered going inside the bathroom. 
 No problem you are excused, I will prepare something for us to eat. 
It better not be noodles I shouted from the bathroom cus no matter how hungry you are you can never manage Lizzy's noodles.
 Don't worry, I bought food while coming back. I just need to warm it, she replied but not without pouring me water in the bathroom. 
We laughed as she went to the kitchen to warm the food. 
I smiled to myself remembering how I met her, I always thank God for bringing us together because in her I found the sister I never had. 
"How come you never told me about her" Frank asked Lizzy. 
"Why will I, when all you want with girls is just one night stand. Please my friend is not one of those girls".

. Lizzy answered the brother reducing her voice as low as possible so that I won't hear her from the bathroom. 
"I think I like her" Frank confessed.
 Lizzy laughed a hearty laugh with tears in her eyes. She just looked at her brother and told him to forget about me because he will never get me. 
Lizzy came to the bathroom and banged on the door which made me to jolt back form my trance. I tied my towel my towel and came out of the bathroom. 
"I thought you are going to sleep in the bathroom, you should have told me let me bring foam for you" Lizzy said pushing me behind the curtain for me to wear my cloths and she whispered to my ears 
"my brother likes you and you know I will be more than glad for you to be my sister in-law" she winked and dodged the slippers I aimed at her.
 "Don't fight it okay, I won't force you" Lizzy concluded her sermon as I would call it because she has been trying to get me engaged with a guy after my encounter with my last boyfriend whom I will never forget. 
  I sighed while rubbing my cream because I know it will never happen. The Chioma that is eager to love is gone, for now what is important is graduating form this damm school that have many bad secrets of me.
  "Madam, please don't stay eternity there and keep us waiting, we need to eat". Lizzy shouted sounding a bit pissed off because of the way I usually treat love stuff whenever she brings it up.
Am coming, I shouted behind the curtain knowing fully well that this time my past is going to determine my future.

Chioma' s POV
 Hey please don't see me as someone who is cold to love but my past experience with them made me so. Let me introduce myself
" my name is Chioma, 22 years old, in my final year. Am tall and moderately beautiful with a chocolate skim and beautiful eyes that guys and girls envy especially my waist lol am not exaggerating, my God created me on a Sunday. Am a girl that loves anything music and sometimes I do write or will say write my own songs but right now they are all in the past. Loving music brought love, mystery and coldness in me, I hate guys now which brought that past on me, I hate them, I hate music and the only close friend I have now is my noisy roommate. Don't judge me yet I will still tell you more, right now let me not keep them waiting. Byeeeee
