Christy really surprised me. She's a prayer warrior. she could spend all the night praying. she never missed her mid night prayers after her night prep and I wasn't getting comfortable with this her prayer way because it disturbed my sleep most of the times. I must confess I loved her more for being a prayerful type at least she could pray our family out of trouble in case we married but I had never discussed marriage with her either but was as well taking note of her character. Christy would be the girl that understood my temperament because most times I had mood swing.
The night before the day I was to leave, I decided we should hang out and move around to have a feel of the cold and hot city of Gombe . Beer joints are not many like we have in the east but enough "suya" a type of meat made from beer well baked. We enjoyed the "suya" and cold soft drinks and later got home late in the night. That night she told me she was not going to sleep in the same room with me. She said she was going to sleep in her neighbours room, her neighbour a lady from Kwara state though a Muslim but has similar character to those of us from the east. I didn't want to ask her why she made her decision of going to sleep in her neighbour's room. To me I knew actually why she was leaving the room but I decided to play gentle lest I miss my luck of getting her

. I bought some Onions and dried fish on my way home which I gave to my mother, when she queried where I got those stuffs from, I excitedly told her it was from her would be daughter-in-law. She laughed and told me do you know the girl well and where she was from. I remembered that song by the late reggae icon Lucky Dube titled it's not easy.
Back home in the east, our love grew from strength to strength that the gap of distance seemed to be bridged. it's obvious that I have found my perfect match. in one of our conversations, she told me she wasn't thinking about marriage at that moment until after her studies. Hearing her said she wasn't thinking about marriage yet strengthened my confidence to work harder.
