Just exactly 11:25pm that same evening, I called Christy, she didn't waste time to pick the call like she had been gasping and waiting for the appointed time. Immediately, my adrenaline rushed to nearly hundred percent and I boasted within myself that finally my trap has caught this meat. I was whistling inside me one particular song by 2face 'each time I look into your eyes I see fire in there....' and thanks to MTN for smoothing my 'runs' by call rate being very low at this particular time of the night. I was making call almost free by that period in that 200 hundred Naira credit could last above one hour . we exchanged pleasantries and proceeded immediately to the business of the day.

this time, it was my turn to question her. I started by asking her what course she was studying and school. I got the shock of my life when she told me she was a student in one the universities in the north. I probed further and she told me Gombe state. instantly, my morale almost flopped that I nearly dropped the ambition of continuing with the deal but summoned courage to carry on because nothing good comes easy. I decided to give it a try. my reason for not wanting to continue was because Gombe is too far from my place of residence and that would be serious burden on me; emotionally, financially and otherwise. I have started imagining how I was going to handle such a long distant relationship but man got to try....

without mincing words, I broke the news of my intentions

. it sounded like thunderbolt to her by the way she responded. she said Kc, that's a no go area, that she was not interested in any relationship. ' I'm  still nursing the injuries I sustained while "loving". I was like what's this girl trying to form? I asked her what type of injury are you talking about? "emotional trauma" she replied. I told her at once, could this be coincidence or a perfect match? she said, "Kc what do you mean" I started my story of how I spent close to three years loving Amaka until she shattered my heart with "sledge hammer".

This time, I started my rapping. first by telling her how good people end up in the hands of wicked ones. I told her maybe fate arranged for us to meet to mend our broken hearts. All my gospel that night seemed to fall on deaf ears as she maintained her stand that she's not interested in any relationship. she told me point blank that she enjoys my conversation and that we could be just friends without any string attached. she also told me I was sounding like a good guy but her past wouldn't let her try love again. the debate continued till past midnight and call was now free. I have planned to utilize this period to win her heart but she insisted on her former stance. Before I could  know it, she told me she would be going to bed and I pleaded for more time which she granted. This particular act convinced me that with a little push I could win her. we moved from love debate to life discussion generally. While the discussion was going on, I started picking more interest in her because of the type of wisdom that emanates from her reasoning. Christy you must be intelligent I said unknowingly. she smiled and said ' stop making mockery of me'

the call ended at almost 2a.m and I was tempted to tell her I love you which she pretended not to have heard. I repeated it and she said thank you.

As I dropped the phone, though lying in bed, I spent some time reflecting and meditating on our discussion. in the middle of the reflection, I zoomed off to the dream land. throughout that night, I was seeing only her in my dream. I wished the dream never ended. it was a marvelous dream spiced with love. in the dream, we were moving around in a garden; spending some quality time with some birds singing love song for us. a song only two of us understood the wordings.

Now, the third day came, she was the first person I called as I woke up. her voice was still as angelic as before and even sweeter. I told myself that if this girl accepts my proposal that I will go to church to testify and for thanksgiving.... Now a knock fell on my door, I was like who's this enemy of progress this early morning. I inquired about who was at the door and it was a male voice.
