It’s exactly one week after my encounter with Mrs. Castle .We have been on greeting terms but I want more than that. She and the husband are still fighting which I am not comfortable with.

I looked at her in disbelief.

. I know you are afraid of getting into a relationship with guys because of your Dad but please you have to give it a try. You like matching people up in love but match yourself too. You are not getting any younger besides you don’t know that family too well for you to barge into their life.

Realizing how hurtful her words were, she hugged me
I hesitated before hugging her back
We disengaged after a while

‘’Okay okay, fine. You can do whatever you want but stay away from the man. You know you are a beautiful girl so don’t make him fall in love with you’’.
I laughed at her last sentence as she cat-walked out of the door for her date with Carl.
I walked to my room to get ready for my task.
At Mrs. Castle’s door, I knocked up to four times before she opened the door.
‘’Oh it’s you, please do come in’’ she exclaimed happily immediately she saw me.
‘’Thanks’’ I answered smiling back at her.
She was tying wrapper around her bosom with sleepy eyes showing that she has been sleeping since.
The sitting room was so scattered with cloths and plates.
‘’Oh my God’’ I muttered to myself
I peeped at her so that she wouldn’t notice my disappointment.
‘’What about the kids’’ I asked starting a conversation.
‘’Oh, they went to visit their aunt’’ She looked at me ’’What do I offer you? I cooked rice’’
I ignored the last statement because that is not what brought me there.
‘’Your husband nko?” I asked
Her face contoured with hatred ‘’He probably went out’’ came her short reply
I decided not to probe further to avoid being chased out of the house.
I have to do something about the condition of the sitting room, I am no longer comfortable with it, but how best do I bring it up without her feeling bad.
“Hey girl, is there anything that is disturbing you? I can give you a listening ear” Mrs. Castle asked probably because of the way my face was.
“Do not worry I am fine’’ I answered with a relaxed smile.
‘’So why all the cloths and plates in the sitting room’’ I asked with my best calm voice.
She looked around the parlor, adjusting her wrapper.
I have in my mid of washing them but not now because am so tired’’ She answered dumping herself on the settee.
‘’Oh God, how do I tackle this’’
