The world must be coming to an end, if Vivian the most stingiest girl I know decided to invite us in one of the most expensive clubs in the city,Red Diamond Club,everything on her...

It's an invite-only club and I just don't wanna think about how she got us in especially in the last minute...

"I wonder what bank Viv robbed..." Leon let out a small chuckle as he drove us to the club in my Lexus...

"I am still in shock....Viv of all people inviting us for drinks and she is paying??? she must have fallen and hit her head..." Tamara retorted...

"Good thing we are loaded, I don't want the joke been on us...The girl finds it hard to pay for her own drinks how comes she is inviting us???Something must be fishy...."

Leon was right but we just needed to turn a blind eye and enjoy yourselves tonight...

"Let's not focus on that guys, tonight we have many reasons to celebrate...."

"You are right Eve, whatever her reasons are for inviting us today, we don't care as long as we have fun...." Tamara agreed with me...

Today was indeed a very good day...My song 'Sugar Love' that was released in the morning is trending on YouTube, Tamara got a pay rise and Leon is finally in a better place...It's seems he is accepting the fact that shit happens...

When Stacey rejected him after he proposed Infront of all his friends and family, he did have the will to move forward anymore and so he hid himself from the world for months...I am glad he agreed to come with us tonight...

He has made a tiny little step in forgetting that woman...It might not be much but it's progress...

I don't think my apartment would be the same without these two...Tamara lost her mother when we were in Campus and when invited her to stay with me and my mother over the holiday, my mom liked her and ever since she has been like a mother to her and I have been like the sister she never had...And since we are like sisters I asked her to move in with me and she agreed...

After Leon got rejected, he slipped into depression, stopped going to work and got fired...

As his good friends we asked him to move in with us until he was back on his feet and now I just want us to live like this forever in my three bedroomed apartment...Our little nest...

When we got to the lobby, two men in black suits approached us...

"Miss Eve, the boss wants to see you.."The guy who was averagely handsome with a well toned body, likely in his mid thirties stated...

"Why????" I arched a brow at him...

"I am just following orders Miss...Tony  here," He squeezed the shoulder of the young handsome man beside him who seemed to be older than his age.
"Will make sure your friends are well taken care of in the Members' lounge, whatever they will drink is on the house..."

"Pinch me, I guess I am dreaming...." Leon said in a low whisper...

"Did we win some lottery and nobody cared to inform us????Tonight everyone is extra generous. First stingy Vivian and now stranger boss..."Confusion  slammed Tamara's face...

. Why does the boss want to see you???And why were  men in black waiting for us like we were some sort of  VIP?? ...." Leon had quizzical expression on his face...

"Only one way to find out." I said dryly following them into the elevator when the other guy stopped me...

"Miss Eve, me and you are supposed to take the private elevator...."

"Why????"

"Because the boss said so...."

Tamara and Leon been dramatic as usual, stepped out of the elevator and began raining questions on the older guy...
"How sure are we he won't harm her???"
"What if you kill her in the elevator???"
"What does your boss want with our friend???"
"Are you working for Effy???Or Dini???"
"You hired you???"
"Are we walking into a trap???"

"I promise you Miss Eve is in safe hands...If anything were to happen to her, the boss would feed my head to the dogs..." The older guy assured..

"Okay, I will try and trust you...But if she is not with us after thirty minutes, I will burn this place down..." Leon threatened trying to put up a serious face...

"You can't burn this place, it's under  high security and even before you think about lighting a matchstick you would be a dead man...." The older guy's words dripped with warning...

"Fine, we won't burn it but I am sure there is nothing preventing us from setting you on fire!!!!" Tamara crossed her arms on her chest,narrowing her eyes at him...

"I am highly trained Miss..."

"Its okay guys, I am sure the so called boss doesn't bite...If anything happens, I will text you...." I assured them...

"What if he takes away your phone???Or ties you on a chair and tortures you????"

"Calm down Leon, I am sure he is harmless...I will be fine.." 

"Let me try and believe you..."

I walked into the private elevator with the older guy and we were whisked to the fourth floor...

When the doors slid open, I walked out of the elevator but he didn't follow me...
"Aren't you coming????"
"Third door on the left...." And the doors closed, leaving me in the middle of a silent hallway...

Why does it feel I am about to fall into a pit of thorns I dug for myself???Just thinking about the so called boss sends cold shivers down my spine...

When I stopped before the double doors, I felt my heart in my throat...I didn't know what awaited me behind these doors....

Pushing the stupid ideas that Leon had succeeded to plant in my head away, I held tight to the recent captured courage and pushed the doors open...

It was an office which was a true blend of elegance, luxury and comfort...

As I walked in, I swallowed uneasily...

The room was dimly lit and  filled with an intoxicating familiar cologne. The more closer I got to the man seated behind the black executive desk with his back facing me, the more my irregular breathing accelerated...

If that's not all, something twisted in the air between us that didn't make sense to me...

When I managed to get a close look on the so called boss,  I instantly knew it was Nicholas Kame...

How could I not  recognize him when he has been hijacking my dreams every night???I  am even sure that I have never kissed any guy as many times as I have kissed Nicholas Kame in my dreams...

For the past one week, I always wake up sexually frustrated.
 I never seem to forget the lust in his eyes  as he made sweet love to me...For once my dreams were better than reality because in reality he was  douche bag...

When you set your eyes on him for the first time, you would think he is that guy that you get to admire from afar since you believe he is out of your reach until you get to know him and you realize he is the guy your mother warns you about...

 A handsome asshole....

"Nicholas Kame, I hope you aren't planning to propose...." I joked, crossing my arms on my chest...

"Are you a mind reader Miss Eve!!!!" He spun around and frowned the moment he looked at me...

"Aren't you feeling cold in  such a skimpy outfit????"He asks between clenched teeth, drinking me in....

"I love what I am wearing Nicholas Kame...."

What is skimpy about black leather shorts and crop top complimented with a white blazer and red strap heeled sandals????
Jerk!!!!

"And what's with the red hair????" Oooh, he was talking about my red Bob wig...Tonight I had decided to go all out...

"Can you just tell me why I am here and quit with the silly questions???" I sat on one of the soft leather seats.

"How did you know it was me with my back facing you????..." He took a sip of the amber liquid in the glass, eyeing me keenly...

You have been hijacking my dreams fool and I hope your body is as perfect as I see it in my dreams...

"How can I not know the man that has been like this thorn in my ass????" I faked a sad face...

"Don't worry Miss Eve, the thorn will be pulled out of your ass soon.. Anyway the reason I called you here is because I want to discuss something important with you...." His expression hardened...

"Go on....."

"I am giving a chance to redeem yourself Miss Eve....And for your own good, I hope this time you don't turn me down...." He said in a commanding tone...

"Out with it...." I said in hesitation, shifting uncomfortably on the seat...
I really didn't like where this was going....

"I want you to marry me...."
"What????" I hooted in disbelief...

"Yes, I would like to marry you in three months..." 

My eyes widened with the realization he wasn't joking....

"I don't understand...." Nothing seemed to make sense at all...

"I am supposed to take over the Kame empire in an year and my dad wants me to have settled with a good girl before that or else I should forget about the empire..Unfortunately he doesn't want any girl not even my girlfriend as his daughter in-law except you...."

"You have a girlfriend????" The words left a bitter taste in my mouth...

"Yeah, we have been together for close to ten years now....."

It took me few seconds to snap out of the shock I was in as tears threatened to fall...

If he had a girlfriend then why did he bother to ask me out on a date??? 

I can't believe after hating myself for turning him down and regretting the awful words I said, I find out he has a girlfriend. Fate must me playing a sick joke on me.

On second thoughts he deserved that and all the shitty words I said....

"You just have to be married to me for an year and after everything is sorted out, I will set you free...." 

There were no emotions, no feelings as I looked at his face...

"Let me guess, you will divorce me and marry the woman you love...."

"Exactly...." There wasn't any hint of remorse in his voice...

I hated the fact that I was a pawn in his little dirty game...Did he sit back for a moment and think how I would feel??What I would want???How can he ask me to marry him like it was a business proposal???

I can't believe this!!!!

"So what do you say???"

"I won't marry you..." I grabbed the glass from his hand and downed the liquid in one gulp regretting the moment the liquid almost burned my throat to ashes but pretended the liquid soothed my throat...

"Think about it Miss Eve... I don't want to force you to marry me and I hope it doesn't get to that...." He warned in a tone clipped with ice...

"I  won't allow you to use me in your little dirty game Nicholas...Just marry your goddamn girlfriend and leave me alone....It's not fair to play with someone's feelings like that. Plus you are not my type...." I said in an unrecognized voice, my eyes filled to the brim with tears...

I still couldn't believe he  asked me out while he had a girlfriend...It felt like I was going through what I had gone through with Mason all over again and it sucked...
Why does every guy think it's okay to play with my feelings??

"Do you think I want to marry you?  If it were upto me, I would have married the girl I love but my dad had to complicate everything...Just accept the marriage proposal Eve and we can move forward to more important things...." He snapped...

"No!!!!!"
"Arrrrrgh!!!!!" He groaned, throwing the empty glass over my head that I flinched when it  shattered, falling like rain...

"Don't make me mad Miss Eve or you won't like what I would do to you.. I am giving you an opportunity to redeem yourself for turning me down, please for your own sake don't mess it up...." There was a warning on the edge of his voice....

It felt like I was staring at a different man... A man who was not only arrogant but cold and ruthless too...

If he had he guts to throw a glass over my head, how sure am I he would never hit me???

A part of me liked him before but now I feared him...Seeing this side of him made me feel this pain I couldn't describe, stabbing right through my heart...

And what if I had said yes to the date which would have probably led to many more only to come and realize much later that the man only pretended to love me so as he would make his dad happy...

"I am not changing my mind, marriage is a very sacred thing to me and not a game!!!!"

"So if you don't mind, Look for another pawn because this girl won't tolerate your shit...." I choked up with unshed tears...

In rage, Nicholas stood from his seat and walked to where I was seated....

Pressing my chin between his thumb and forefinger, he lifted my face and bent his face down close to mine in a slow motion...

"I have waited for so long to take over the Kame empire and I won't let anyone not even you to ruin it for me...I would do what it takes to make the old man happy even If it means dragging you to the aisle by your hair...." He raged....

"Who do you think you are???"

"A man who will be your worst nightmare...."

"Go to hell!!!!"I spat saliva on his cheek refusing to be intimidated by the closeness between us..

"I have been to hell and back honey...."  He smiled dangerously seemingly not bothered with the fact I had spat on him...

"From now on you are solely responsible for whatever happens to you....."

"What do you mean????"

"You are gonna have a taste of what the heartless Nicholas Kame is capable of....I gave you an opportunity to redeem yourself but you just had to be stubborn..." 

"I am not afraid of you, do your worst!!!!!" 

"We will see if you will have the same confident after what I will do to you..Now leave my office!!!!!" He freed my chin and arrogantly sat on the leather seat beside me...

"I....."
"Get the hell out of my office woman!!!!" 

Who does he think he is to order me like that????

I rose from the seat angrily and stormed out of his office, slamming the door on my way out...

I will not backed down without a fight...I refuse to get married to that cold ruthless man and nothing he will do will make me change my mind...

Not even if the sun becomes red or the world turns upside down....
