……… At Bea house

“you think this is a good idea” I ask facing Bea and Chris

“what” Chris ask

“letting him go there tonight”

Silence

We are at Bea house awaiting his return when he insists on going there. Bea kept quiet looking at me, Chris take a sip out of his wine . His phone ring and he exit to answer it.

“the question should be, do we trust him” Bea say after a long silence

“I do, he has a personal score to settle with Ma Nora”

Bea nod and burrow deeply inside the huge blanket covering her. “Guys am in” we hear him say from the device on the table

We shift our gaze to it; I sigh and sit down to await his next information. “I wish he succeed” I pray silently wishing for this night mare to end. I might not have known Bea personally for a long time but she has change from the bossy lady to a mere girl, knowing she sits on a time bomb that might explode any moment, news from the company is not fair at all.

“Guys look” Chris say directing our gaze to his phone

“Tony just called me now”

I nod for him to continue

“the blogger” Bea ask wide eyed

“what did he say”

“Nora put a call across to him asking him to suspend the publishing about you that a bigger fish is coming. He called to warn me about anything I am doing, reminding me how powerful Ma Nora is”

We exchange glances silently “that gives us time to speed whatever we are doing” I say breaking the silence

“Okay then lets wait for him to come back” Chris say and dump himself tiredly on the sofa

“No, I know my mother; that might be a trap; we have to call him back immediately” Bea say and rush to the communicating device to stop him but we are late; we cant through to him again

. Ma Nora always has guards on duty which I am supposed to be in tonight but I excused myself for this operation. I need to appear clean

I disconnect the communicating device immediately I report my successful entrance. I don’t want a distraction, I must avenge my sister death. I want to watch Ma Nora crumble down painfully courtesy of me.

I smile at that and forge ahead.

. I walk in noiselessly through the long stairs and to the corridor; I avoid the elevator for safety reasons

I grin at Ma Nora office as I walk pass it, down to the different rooms of operations and straight to the dark room.

All through my walk down to the dark room, I expect to see a guard on duty but I saw none. That kick up something in me but I push it at the back of my mind.

Standing in front of the dark room I notice the door slightly open and my instinct come alive. “this might be a trap, she use this to catch girls that try to steal from her” as a guard there I know her ways, I have to abort mission immediately. I gear a foot step coming down the stairs. I walk further away from the dark room and pose as if on duty. I hid the device and turn to see Ma Nora coming with the head guard.

“Good evening Ma” I greet with a slight bow

She look surprise on seeing me, “why are you on duty, you did not receive the message”

I nod negative

“Okay, you can go; no duty tonight” she say and dismiss me

I walk out disappointed that I couldn’t get what I wanted. “God dammit” I say and hit my fist angrily at the door and flinch at the pain. “I must try again” I say looking at the empire in anger

******* “Lock the door firmly, seems she is not coming tonight” Nora say to the guard and walk out disappointed too “I would have caught her”

“Maybe she is innocent” the guard say and walk behind her

“yes maybe; we will get her nude next week before I can finally trust her”

They enter her car and zoom off to N inn.

“Did you succeed” we ask and gather round him immediately he walk in

He looks frustrated, sat down and removed his heavy coat; “No, I have to withdraw, I noticed something fishy”

“I knew it” Bea exclaimed “she is always up to no good, thank God we have little extra time. Lets lie low for now and see what happens next”

Nobody talked but I knew deep down that we all have our own inner thoughts

Chris phone rings “my Dad, I have to go” he announce looking at Bea as if waiting for approval

“yes man, am going with you”

We exchange pleasantries and the two guys left. “we have to sleep” I say and drag Bea with me. Thank God its weekend, we really need a deep sleep

After the long silence of turning on our bed, we succumb to the call of nature each with her thoughts
