I forgave Nonso but I had to form hard girl for a little while, I guess he knew because he put in relentless efforts to make me happy.
My leave from work came in and marriage preparations started. Amaka, Uju and Nneka were not comfortable with me getting back together with Nonso but they didn't put up objections.
It was bliss.
The level of love that existed between Nonso and I would need a supernatural force to break us apart.
"Diana!!!", Nneka called out, I could tell she was standing outside my room door, "Start getting ready, the designer will open any minute now", she reminded me, I was supposed to see the designer who will design my wedding gown and I wasn't even prepared.
"Okay Nne, I'm almost set", I lied.
I rushed into the shower for a quick bath and hurriedly wore a simple sky blue top and skinny jeans.
I was skinny but mildly thick and my jeans usually brought out my shape, I liked wearing them, especially on days when I wanted to look simple and classy.
With my student-like bag and my slay queen wig and no make-up, I was all set. "I'm ready Nneka!!! Please tell her we're already on our way", I shouted.
I sounded like a rich kid already, Nonso got me a car, a pre-wedding gift and I loved it
. It was small and really comfortable, and it was painted with my favorite colour.
We soon set out, with Nneka on the wheel and an excited me on the passenger seat

. We gisted and had as much fun as we could on the road.
On getting there, the designer was anxiously waiting for me so she stopped all she was doing and gave me a VIP treatment. I felt special.
We went through pictures of designs and talked about quality and size and more and more designs for wedding gowns, I was shocked the amount of information I had on wedding gowns, it was surprising.
By the time we decided to take a look at physical designs available, it was already one hour past midday and I was hungry.
The thing about weddings in Nigeria is that when you start trying out wedding gowns, you'd never want to stop, you can end up trying out everything but all brides know that they never buy what they try out. Those gowns were just for testing, never to be bought, but designers never knew that. My designer kept suggesting and suggesting that I had to take a break. I called for lunch.
Luckily for me and Nneka, there was a restaurant nearby so we just walked down to the place. Considering how hungry I was, I was sure I'd spend more than I budgeted but I had gotten to a point that I could afford whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, and I felt like it was bad because it was all thanks to Nonso.
Well, I deserved a treat so I didn't care, I ordered my meal and patiently waited for the waiter to bring my order.
I was filling my eyes with the beautiful decorations used to beautify the restaurant when I heard a very familiar voice say "Hey beautiful", I was shocked to see who it turned out to be.
It was my ex-lover, my worst mistake, my nightmare, shivers went through my spine.
