HUMMING ROSE - Episode 3
"So you think you can come to work anytime you want!" He thundered. "This is not your father's house, and remember, I make reports on the performances of ever single department here every week! Haven't you realized!?" He went on. "I will make sure that the both of you pay dearly for this recalcitrant and lackadaisical attitude!" He sneered as we bowed our heads in remorse without uttering a word.
Dr. Raphael Olu Adesina is a principled no nonsense man . A tall huge man who's weight could pass for a bloated cow. He was really heavy with barely a neck, a round head and a protruded belly. His shirts barrly fit him, most looking like his belly pushed through them and one could not help but think that his buttons would come flying at any slightest touch. He was about 6ft, really dark man in his early fifties, a definition of a moving mountain!
Surprisingly, he has a very handsome face. A kind man who knows his guns though and ready to strike at anybody who fell short of his expectations. He could be playful sometimes though but this morning, it was a different story!
"Miss Thelma Ojali Enejo!, See me in my office in the next twenty minutes!" he thundered and left. We both heaved a sigh of relief, looked at each other as we walked into our office

. We were just dumbfounded!
"Let's hurriedly go down, our shift is in 5 minutes" Annie finally said. We put down our bags, and hurriedly ran all the way back to the elevator and down to the information room. On getting there, we were greeted with both friendly and unfriendly faces, who were tidying up to go. It was the norm so we weren't even looking at their faces. We took our positions and started out. We would not eat again till lunch break. "Holy God, save me today" I thought.
"Ticket 105, Mera airlines, Mister..." The speakers blared snapping me out of my thoughts. It was Annie, I joined in immediately adjusting my ID CARD.
20 MINUTES LATER
"Annie, I'll be on my way now. I need to see the general manager as he requested earlier. You know how he can be sometimes... Chief of mood swings" I said and we both laughed.
I gently strolled to his office, and on getting there, I was already out of breath. The elevator was filled up and I had no choice than to use the stairs.
I slid into the reception and almost immediately, his secretary showed up. I walked up to him, and just as I thought; he was the grumpiest man I had ever met!
"Hey sir, good morning to you. I'm Thelma from customer service department, you remember?" It seemed like the man was in no mood to talk or even listen to me. He has always been like that though. I pushed further.
"Sir please, I would like to see the manager. He actually..." I was made to shut up by the mean words that followed. "Stop disturbing my peace, you tiny thing!" He said raising his brows. I felt bad.
A very ugly yet so arrogant man! I wondered what the whole ego thing was about. I eyed him menacingly and was about shouting at him when the Managers door swung open. I turned around, it was him!
"Hey, take this papers and make photocopies. Return them now, I would review in a bit."The secretary collected all quickly muttering 'sir' after every statements. What an eye service.. yucks!
"Hey you, you are here to see the manager?" He snapped his fingers in my face.
"Yes, I am. I would love to, thanks." I stammered.
