Mrs Babalola's POV
I went to the house but the security refused opening the gate for me, Theophilus' order.
I walked into his office. I was seriously fuming. "What game are you playing at?" I asked, "First you sent me packing out of our house. The house we've made so much memories in"
"I'm kind of busy Doyin"he cut into my complains and I scoffed feeling so insulted.
"Give me the keys to any of the mansions that hasn't been rented at Ikoyi or anywhere"
"I'm sorry I can't do that unless you sign the papers. You haven't read it have you?"
"We worked our ass off together to see all this happen and now you're cutting me off . This isn't fair Theophilus"
"Henry told me you spent the night at his house"
"I can't spend a minute more in that place. I can't live with that maid. You know how much she makes me itch"
"Go back to your parents house"
"Are you crazy?" "You do realize you're talking to your husband do you?"
"I wouldn't ask that question if you were acting sane. I'm sure you've gone bonkers! Are you trying to disgrace me?"
"I'm not trying to disgrace you Doyin"
"My parents would be embarrassed if I go back

. I'm the big sister for crying out loud!" I snapped hitting the table.
"Can you leave the office?"
"This is also my company too" "I'm not disputing that legally but this is my space, my office and I have every right to my privacy."
"Theophilus, please" she begged me, I haven't said that in a long time. I don't remember the last time I begged my husband.
"Oko mi please, please I'm begging you, don't put me to shame. What would people say?"
"You know me Doyin, I've never cared about what people think." He answered and I cleaned my tears, "You're an idiot for making me beg, imagine I just said please for nothing" she hissed leaving the office.

I went over to the hotel. I stood outside for minutes, I was in deep thought. I couldn't imagine myself going back to Henry's house with that slut in it.
But then going into the hotel was worst! This would be social suicide! It would tarnish my image and my family's image.
There was no way I was going to sign those divorce terms. Theophilus was definitely high on something, I had to find a place to be till he cools down.
Henry's place was the only place I could be in. I had no choice but to drive back to the house.
I horned twice,  came out of the car and barely knocked for two minutes when Adesuwa opened up. I chastised her for opening late as though I've been knocking for twenty minutes.
I was in a bad mood and when Doyin is in a bad mood, she definitely finds someone to transfer it too.
I told her to make herself useful and get my bags for me. Adesuwa bluntly refused. She asked that I do it myself.
I almost cried, I felt insulted.
I waited till Henry showed up in the evening. I was already by the door when I heard him horn. I watched Henry open the gates for himself and he also drove in.
"Why didn't she open the gate for you?" I asked and he went back to locking it.
"Mummy good evening" he walked to car removing a customer's bag from the car then he closed the car.
"Why didn't that girl open the gates for you?"
"Mom she's not feeling too well" he answered.
"So? She's too rude and incompetent, you're making her lazy"
"Mom please, I just got back"
"I haven't even started you're complaining, Henry, can you believe what that tramp did today?" I asked, "Mom don't call her tramp"
"Sorry, I meant what that stupid girl did today"
"What did she do?"
"I told her to open up the gate to get my luggage and my bag from the car and she refused! She told me to open the gate myself, drive in and get the damn bag"
"Seriously?" He asked and I nodded.
"She's so disrespectful. Jummy would never treat me this way" "Mom you probably didn't say it nicely"
"Is that all you can say?"
"I'll deal with it later"
"Okay. I made dinner for you"
"Geez mom! I've seen this happen in diverse movies, I really don't want to experience it in my own house. Adesuwa made dinner already mom, I'll have to decline"
"Dinner that she was sneezing all over" I answered and he laughed. "Even if she coughed in it" he answered leaving.
"Your father has finally gone mad!" i complained and I saw him shake his head.

Henry's POV
"I just finished making dinner, I'm about to retire to bed" Adesuwa said to me in a hoarsy after I put a call through to her.
"If this was how you sounded before I fell in love with you, I wouldn't have fallen in love at all" I teased and she laughed.
"I was playing dumb when you fell in love with me"
"I wasn't in love then, I was just infatuated" I answered and i heard her chuckle. "I'm on my way home babe"
"I'll unlock the padlock, I'm not feeling too strong to stand up." "Are you sure you're okay?" I asked,
"What do you want me to get for you?"
"Ice cream?"
"You have catarrh and you want to take ice cream" "Is it your catarrh?" She asked and I laughed.  "Expecting you dear. Love you"
"I love you too" I answered and she hung up.
I stopped by at an eatery, I got a plate of ice cream for her and I went home to Mom's chattering and complains.
I walked in the room with a loud groan. "Urgh!" I rolled my eyes. "Sounds like you've met your mom" Adesuwa said with a bed sheet covered over her.
"Hey babe" I dropped the Ice cream on the dresser table then i leaned in to kiss her on the lips.
"How are my babies doing?" I asked and she glared at me playfully. "I'm not pregnant"
"I know, I just felt like asking" I answered and she chuckled. "Fatherhood will look good on me" I answered taking off my shoes.
"How are you feeling?"
"Cold, I'll take some drugs tomorrow. They make one really sleepy that's why I avoid them" she answered. "Where's my ice cream?" She asked and I brought it close to her.
She sat up crossed her leg then started scooping the ice cream. "What happened between you and Mom today?"
"Oh..  that" she answered and I nodded. There was no need to ask the rest of the story, Mom wasn't exaggerating then.
"I told her to be nice and she wasn't so I demanded that she open the gates and take her baggages in all by herself" she answered and i withheld my laughter.
"I didn't want to do it, she pushed me to it. She has to learn how to be nice, I'm not going to take her insults anymore. I won't fold my hands and let her bully me"
"This is going to be war"
"For a good cause" she scooped a spoon of ice cream into my mouth and I chuckled.

Adesuwa's POV

Henry left for work in the morning and I was left home with Mrs Babalola. I sat in the sitting room watching TV with a bed sheet covered over me.
The room suddenly got colder, someone had turned on the AC. It was no other than Mrs. Babalola.
She walked into the sitting room, "Does this look like a bed room?" She asked pointing at the bed sheet over my body.
She took the remote off the table then changed it to CNN. "I was watching something before you..." I stalled shaking my head.
"It's so not worth it" I muttered, "What did you say?" She asked and I scoffed.
"I'm nursing a headache, I don't want to add to it so you can have the sitting room to yourself" I stood up then i felt a bit queasy and I staggered.
"Are you okay?" She asked and I turned to her.I saw concern in her eyes.
"What's wrong with this one?" She asked and I touched my head. "I'm not feeling too well"
"Are you sure you're not pregnant"
"I'm not"
"Are you sure?"
"I can't afford to get pregnant now" I answered and she asked to know why.
"It's none of your business Mam" I answered leaving the sitting room for her.
I went into the room and I remembered how worried she was when I almost staggered.  A thought then occurred to me, if she was worried about me when I wasn't too sick; what would she do if I actually become sick.
I knew all I was going through was just mild cold but I could exaggerate it a bit.  I thought with a smirk.
Maybe the universe was on my side finally, maybe this whole situation , her choice to live here wasn't just a coincidence but it was rather an opportunity to draw me close to her and improve our bond.
I wasn't sure if it was going to work but I had to try it anyways. I walked into the sitting room and I realized she wasn't there, I checked her room to realize she has left.
I went back into the sitting room and I took back my sleeping position with my bed sheets over my body.
Lilian stopped by afterwards. "How body?" She asked as we both walked into the sitting room. "Manager say you no well and you for like company"
"It's just cold"
"Are you sure?"
"I sure"
"The same thing I said before I learnt I was pregnant" "I knew you were pregnant from the first day you had sex with Deji" I answered and she chuckled faintly.
"I'm sorry I talked about him"
"It's nothing" she waved her hands while I laid on the chair. "I heard people are already talking about your pregnancy"
"I have no idea how they found out. Why didn't you call me to let me know you were sick?"
"I didn't want to bother anyone,  it's just cold. I go take drugs later" "Which time e start"
"Yesterday morning" I answered blowing my nose then I coughed.
"Ehya, and you dey bad for catarrh matter"
"Abi"
"And since when you don dey plan to buy drugs?" She asked and I shrugged. "Since yesterday"
"Adesuwa you no go buy that drugs. No be you again? If na medicine matter, you go procrastinate until the matter worse"
"That's a lie"
"Remember it rained in January and you had cold?" She paused, "No be June you con take treatment?" She asked and I nodded in guilt.
I've always avoided taking drugs.
I've always seen myself as having strong antibodies, I barely get sick.
"I have strong antibodies" I answered and she hissed.
We heard the gate open and someone drove in. It was definitely Mrs. Babalola!
"Who's that?"
"Mrs Babalola" I whispered then I covered the sheet all over my body. "Cold dey catch you?' Lilian asked and I nodded.
"Not that kind of cold," I answered and I looked towards the door.
"What's she doing here?" She asked, "She just moved in here"
"Why?" She asked and I looked at Lilian. I knew I had to get into character sooner or later. "Something happened and she...it's all part of the plan"
"What plan?" She asked and Mrs Babalola entered.
I shivered the moment she walked in. "Good afternoon Ma" Lilian greeted rising up. "What is she doing here?" She asked, apparently she knew Lilian.  "She's... my best friend" I manage to answer.
"Why didn't I just take a guess" she answered and I batted my eyes at Lilian. "How e dey do you Ade? Na cold?" She asked and I raised my brow in shock.
She was supposed to pity me or act in a way that would make it look like I was really sick.
"See as your body they hot" she added and then i heard Mrs Babalola's  footsteps gradually fade.
"What are you doing?" She asked and I groaned. "She don go!" Lilian whispered tapping my arm.
"Aw!" I rubbed my hands on the painful surface.
"What are you doing? Are you pretending to be sick?"
"I'm not pretending okay maybe I am, a little bit"
"Mr. Henry thinks you're sick, Adesuwa you're lying again. This is going to be like you playing dumb all over again. Your cup go full oh"
"I'm actually not feeling too well I'm only exaggerating it"
"Why?" She asked and I sighed looking towards the direction of Mrs Babalola's room. I had to explain it all to Lilian.
"You think that kind of woman woman would care about you" "I know what I saw, try to imagine how she would react if I fainted"
"Right now I'm worried about you. The thought of you living here scares the living daylight out of me, What if this woman tries to kill you"
"I'll be fine, they said she's not that bad and I'm just putting my faith on the hope Tosin, Henry and Mr. Babalola have on her"

Mrs. Babalola's POV

I couldn't concentrate on the news I tuned in to, so I drove out, I didn't have any destination. I went to Tosin's house. Lucky for me she was home.
"Can you believe your father drove me out of the house" i complained almost in tears. "I heard"
"And you couldn't call"
"I was busy"
"I won't sign those divorce papers" I sat down, "What would you do then? Dad is really serious about it. You must have made him angry"
"Tosin I didn't do anything, I swear I wasn't even as annoying as I would be on a normal day." I sniffled.
"I can't sign the paper, I can't go back to being single"
"Have you spoken to Dad?" She asked and I nodded.
"He has finally gone mad! He wants me to go down on my knees and beg him. I mean for what? I haven't done anything wrong. The only thing I'm guilty of is getting married to him. He's a complete idiot" I snapped and she shook her head.
"Can you talk to him, he listens to you. Just let him know that I was wrong and I can't go through with the proceedings. I love him, I love that idiot so much" I paused and I bowed my head sobbing.
"You must have really pushed him to the wall for him to react that way. I'll try to talk to him Mom, just do your part to apologized" she advised and I hissed.
"Henry told me you moved in"
"I did... I have to live in that place with that tramp" "She's not a tramp mom, Adesuwa is cool. She's a good person if you get to know her"
"Clem is also a good person"
"Mom I'm curreny dating"  she blurted out. I didn't need her to tell me who. I had my guess already.
"Tell me it isn't that chef you Introduced me to"
"Fatai" she called the name and i rose up.
"Tosin you're a carbon copy of your father, he passed his stupid gene to you. I should have just let you die when the doctor told me you had low chances of survival" i raised my bag leaving the house.

****
I needed to go elsewhere, I was completely shattered. I felt like my whole world was crumbling.
I had friends but I didn't have any good one to tell my problems to. The only good friend I have is Deji's mom, the others were bitches.
I cried severally until a man walked up to me and asked if I was alright. "Does it look like I'm not alright?" I asked in tears,"Sorry, I was just asking"
"I'm sorry" I apologized, "I'm fine, I'm fine. I'll be fine"
I knew I had to talk to someone. Wunmi Coker wasn't an option, I had to see an old friend, Adebimpe Falana. I haven't seen her in a while.
"Doyin Iretiola Babalola" she laughed as she walked down the stairs. "I was shocked when the house help told me you were here" she added walking towards me.
"There's definitely fire on the mountain, what's going on?" She asked sitting on the chair and I passed the divorce paper to her.
She read it for a while then she laughed. "Theophilus finally had the guts to do it" she said and I glared at her.
"What?" She asked, "I don't want it, I don't want a divorce"
"What do you want? Aren't you angry with him again"
"I am" I cried, "But I still very much love my husband" "I told you years ago that your husband was cheating but you refused to believe me"
"Because you always believed every ladies husbands are cheating"
"Cause all men are cheats and if you don't wrap them around your hands and make them know you're boss, they'll continue to cheat"
"Everything is crumbling down Bimpe, my marriage is crumbling down"
"Your marriage crumbled years ago you never realized it"
"What do you mean?"
"First off was denying Theophilus sex for two years and after you two finally had sex, you starved him. Twice in a month? It's as if you didn't learn from me"
"I didn't come here to receive blame"
"I'm not going to comfort you either. Wasn't I the one who helped you find out about Theo's extramarital affairs? I told you to kill them off but what did you tell me?"
"I can't do it. Everyone would blame me for it, I'll go to jail"
"There are more than one ways to skin a cat Doyin, no one would know you did it just like the way I got rid of my own threat. Remember?" She at and I nodded.
I'll forever hold it in my conscience, I remember that day like as though it happened yesterday. I was pregnant with Tosin.
When Bimpe found the hide outs of the woman her husband had cheated on her with.
I thought we were going there to warn her, but instead Bimpe summoned some area boys to burn down the house her husband had bought for the prostitute.
I saw myself as an accomplice to the crime. After my complications with Tosin, I even felt as though God was punishing me for being an accomplice in the murder of a pregnant woman.
"I'm even less bothered about Theophilus"
"What if he brings that woman into the house?" She snapped and I shut my eyes in tears.
"Henry's dating a maid, a nobody and Tosin is dating a Chef" "What happened to Jumoke omo Coker? (Jumoke daughter of Coker)"
"He left her for this maid" I answered and she laughed.
"Your life is one hell of a soap opera"
"This isn't funny"
"It is funny, if I was in your shoe, I would have gone through a lot of drastic measures. Stay here and be dulling yourself"
"Have you offered them money?"
"I offered Henry's girlfriend six million, she refused. I'm tempted to think he has been charmed" "If I tell you to come with me let's go and meet one Herbalist, you'll say no oh"
"I don't do that kind of thing"
"Stay there and be dulling yourself na"

****
When I got home, I opened the gate for myself and I drove in. Adesuwa was inside with the bedsheet over her. She was with the maid I saw at the hotel.
"How e dey do you Ade? Na cold?" The maid from the other day asked Adesuwa while she laid in that bed.
I turned to the both of them.
"See as your body they hot" she added and I walked away into the room.
"What's even wrong with her?" I asked and I hissed. I remembered seeing her almost fall down in the morning.
"She better not be pregnant" I complained throwing my hand bag on the bed then I laid in bed as memories of my day breezed through my mind.

I couldn't concentrate on the news I tuned in to, so I drove out, I didn't have any destination. I went to Tosin's house. Lucky for me she was home. "Can you believe your father drove me out of the house" i complained almost in tears. "I heard" "And you couldn't call" "I was busy" "I won't sign those divorce papers" I sat down, "What would you do then? Dad is really serious about it. You must have made him angry" "Tosin I didn't do anything, I swear I wasn't even as annoying as I would be on a normal day." I sniffled. "I can't sign the paper, I can't go back to being single" "Have you spoken to Dad?" She asked and I nodded. "Henry told me you moved in" "I did... I have to live in that place with that tramp" "She's not a tramp mom, Adesuwa is cool. She's a good person if you get to know her" "Clem is also a good person" "Mom I'm curreny dating" she blurted out. I didn't need her to tell me who. I had my guess already. "Tell me it isn't that chef you Introduced me to" "Fatai" she called the name and i rose up. "Tosin you're a carbon copy of your father, he passed his stupid gene to you. I should have just let you die when the doctor told me you had low chances of survival" i raised my bag leaving the house.

I needed to go elsewhere, I was completely shattered. I felt like my whole world was crumbling. I had friends but I didn't have any good one to tell my problems to. The only good friend I have is Deji's mom, the others were bitches. I cried severally until a man walked up to me and asked if I was alright. "Does it look like I'm not alright?" I asked in tears,"Sorry, I was just asking" "I'm sorry" I apologized, "I'm fine, I'm fine. I'll be fine" I knew I had to talk to someone. "What?" She asked, "I don't want it, I don't want a divorce" "What do you want? Aren't you angry with him again" "I am" I cried, "But I still very much love my husband" "I told you years ago that your husband was cheating but you refused to believe me" "Because you always believed every ladies husbands are cheating" "Cause all men are cheats and if you don't wrap them around your hands and make them know you're boss, they'll continue to cheat" "Everything is crumbling down Bimpe, my marriage is crumbling down" "Your marriage crumbled years ago you never realized it" "What do you mean?" "First off was denying Theophilus sex for two years and after you two finally had sex, you starved him. Twice in a month? It's as if you didn't learn from me" "I didn't come here to receive blame" "I'm not going to comfort you either. Wasn't I the one who helped you find out about Theo's extramarital affairs? I told you to kill them off but what did you tell me?" "I can't do it. Everyone would blame me for it, I'll go to jail" "There are more than one ways to skin a cat Doyin, no one would know you did it just like the way I got rid of my own threat. "I'm even less bothered about Theophilus" "What if he brings that woman into the house?" She snapped and I shut my eyes in tears. "Henry's dating a maid, a nobody and Tosin is dating a Chef" "What happened to Jumoke omo Coker? (Jumoke daughter of Coker)" "He left her for this maid" I answered and she laughed.

. "Your life is one hell of a soap opera" "This isn't funny" "It is funny, if I was in your shoe, I would have gone through a lot of drastic measures. Stay here and be dulling yourself" "Have you offered them money?" "I offered Henry's girlfriend six million, she refused. I'm tempted to think he has been charmed" "If I tell you to come with me let's go and meet one Herbalist, you'll say no oh" "I don't do that kind of thing" "Stay there and be dulling yourself na" **** When I got home, I opened the gate for myself and I drove in.
