“So, you both had a fight and neither has called the other?”

“Yes John.”

“But you both boarded the same flight back here?”

Andy nodded. He was back in his office that morning. Even though they had travelled together, he and Reeva didn’t speak to each other.

“Yes, we did . She is the woman; she should be the one to seek peace, not me.”

“But you both are a couple, does it matter?”

Andy shook his head.”These are things you need to know assuming you are married.”

“Well, thank God I am not married, I am not ready for this drama.” John replied.

“She is really stubborn.” Andy kept reemphasizing.

“You really think that?”

“You should have seen the way she was arguing with me and she didn’t even talk to me this morning.”

“Well, you are not a good communicator yourself. Look, if anything is going to get better between you, you need to communicate more.

“Did I need to? Not every lady actually wants to have a wedding party.”

“Clearly you haven’t met most of them.”

“Maggie was willing not to go along with it.”

John glared at him, “because she knows everything and you both grew up together and wasn’t that like ten years ago when she told you?”

Andy was quiet, there was no arguing this, he knew he needed to call her but, no, he was going to see how long she was willing to go before contacting him.

“So, you are still not going to call him?” KEMI asked.

“Look, I tried to talk to him last night but he didn’t even show up in the room, I practically slept alone last night.” Reeva explained.

. So what are you two going to do on the night of your marriage?”

Reeva shrugged, standing up and walking to the copying machine. “I don’t even know if there is going to be a wedding.” She replied.

While they kept talking, the phone on her desk rang.

“Please check who it is for me.” Reeva said, as she was far from her desk, KEMI stretched from her seat to pick the phone ,”its Prist.”

“Oh.” She pressed a button on the machine and then walked over to collect the phone, it was a video call.

“Hey babe.” Pristin said.

“Hi, you, that was how you missed my party.”

“Say hi to her for me.” KEMI quickly said.

“I can hear you KEMI, how are you doing, come over here let me talk to you both.” Pristinreplied and KEMI went to meet Reeva so they could talk together.

“Skybae told me everything that happened, so I decided to call you. Girl, what was that about?” Pristin asked.

“We were just discussing that.”KEMI replied.

“Reeva, what really happened?” Pristin asked again.

“Well, it was the same thing okay? You guys were right, I don’t think he wants to have a wedding party.”

“But did he tell you why?”

“No.”

“She didn’t ask.” KEMI quickly explained.

“You need to talk to him Tee.” Said Pristin

“Exactly my point.” KEMI stated.

“Look, guys, he didn’t even ask me why as well. I never wanted to have the party at his father’s house but he made me do it and now I need to compromise my dreams for whatever selfish reason he’s got. No way.” Reeva declared.

“You need to make peace with him Reeva, you need to understand why he is bent on doing that and believe me, you have everything to use in convincing how much this wedding party means to you, he needs to know that it has to hold. Then maybe he will understand your reason and accept to hold it.” Pristin stated but Reeva only scoffed, “I can’t believe that I need to explain why I need to have my dream wedding party to a man that I am supposed to marry. Why is life treating me like this?” She groaned.

“Look, you need to make things right okay?” Pristin continued, “my boss will be back soon, I got to go, tell me how it goes, love you.”

The call ended and KEMI returned to her seat.

“So how do I make him see my point now?” Reeva finally asked.

“Good, it begins with a call.” KEMI replied, pointing to the phone in her hand.

Rolling her eyes and taking a deep sigh, Reeva dialed his number. It rang for the third time before it was picked.

“Hi babe.” He said coldly.

KEMI moved closer to hear the conversation.

“Hi,” she replied and continued, “do you mind if we have a dinner at Macs later after work, I think we need to talk.”

There was a silence before he replied, “will  5 be okay, because I will be closing by4:30.”

“4:30? Why?”

“There is an emergency meeting, its only for a few minute, is it okay?”

KEMI signaled to Reeva who nodded, “sure, I will be waiting.”

“Tell him you love him.” KEMI mouthed to her but Reeva ended the call abruptly. KEMI was surprised. “You are the weirdest girlfriend ever.”

“Thanks, I will take that as a compliment.”

“You should have told him that you loved him.”

“With the way he was acting like a bag of ice?”

“That would have melted any man.”

“Well, thank you but I am not interested.” Reeva replied, walking back to her seat.
