"I've known you for just a month, and yet I feel I've known you all my life" I said to Claire while we stood together on the balcony. "Because you let me in too" she replied, smiling. A smile that befits an angel. An angel because an angel is charming and as well draws a sword when needed. She does draw her sword, and of course when her loved one is touched . She has proved me to be one of them... Thanks to her private tutoring , my grades were getting better. She had both beauty and brains. She helped me through difficulties too and a lot at that. "Girl with a beautiful soul" as I always described her. "I just want to say....thank you" I said, staring at my feet .. " my grades got better than before" my result sheet preceding me in both hands. "Oh really? I must get paid" she joked as she took the paper. She regarded the result sheet " there's still room for improvements you know?" "Hei!" I exclaimed. "Wouldn't you congratulate me first , before you criticize ?" I opined. She laughed and grimacing said "excuse me? Me?..... Compliment you?.... You are joking sweetie" " you are so impossible Claire" I said mimicking a frown. "You don't look good wearing a long face" she said and burst out laughing

. I could no longer hold in the tingling the feeling to laugh . I burst into laughter too. "Claire Okpara....... You have another name right? Tell me, ...I need to call you by all your names so you'll know I'm damn serious.. ... "If you were serious you'd be in the emergency unit right now" she said in a jest. " you are sick, Claire" she laughed again. A little merry laugh. I looked at her "anyway, I Wish I had known you earlier" I said..wishing I could give her a hug. "It doesn't matter when you get to know someone, you only need to know the right people. Besides what's life without making people smile and giving them hope?" She asked, smiling. "At least I wouldn't be a failure in my senior certificate examinations coming up next year, I have a helper now" I said to her...grinning. She laughed, nodding. And then asked "Don't you think you may want to join a voluntary organisation?" I raised my eye brows in a questioning look, and she continued "Like an organisation where you get to help people in need, you help teach them things you can do.. Offer first aid treatments to people...you know one way you could be of help to the community in a selfless manner" "Oh... I get it. I could use a little of that. I'll try and see if I'll be able to pull that off. Are you a member of any?" I asked "Yes, red cross..you are very welcome to join" "Yeah ..right. I'll try? I almost asked "Do we expect you?...tomorrow?" She asked pursing her lips . "OK, done. I'll be there" "Griiiiiin griiin griiin" the bell for lunch time break over came sounding... "We better get to class, Neil, we don't wanna miss out on any last news for the term" she said, straightening out her shirt. " you missed a spot " I joked, raising my hand to dust her shoulder in pretence. "Do you always have to tell the world you are taller than me?" She jestingly asked pushing of my hand. " I don't understand people and how they refuse help when its offered" I said smirking.. " no, thank you" she replied chuckling as she turned to leave for her class.. .the department of arts. I followed suit... she walked in front.. I wished I could spin her around and into my arms. Butyou'd never predict girls and the way they think. I turned right, the way to the science department. "Oh , I left her with my result sheet" I muttered. "Well... I'd see her after school" I thought .
