"Hajiya, what is this am hearing? What has gotten into you? What is this i said?!". Dad shouted on top of his voice. Okay, here comes the worst moment...seeing my parents fight because of me. Am i really doing the right thing? I wondered.

        "I did nothing Alhaji. Why are you shouting when am sitting right beside you?".

"Don't play dumb with me miss, i know what you and your niece are planning...but believe me that won't happen . What is wrong with you? What have you done to that compassionate woman i married years back? Where is she? That sweet lady who's always loving and  caring and never has she ever acted this way. What is the matter between you and mujaheed?". He asked slowly.

Mom gave me a sharp look, and i felt my insides rumbling. Damn me!.

"Don't tell me you're going to let him marry that girl? She's a sickle cell patient for goodness sake baban mujaheed. I will never agree to such bullshits and i won't give my blessings to such things! Over my dead body will i ever allow mujaheed to marry her!" Mom said angrily before making her way into her room.

"Come back here maman mujaheed!" Dad shouted "how dare you walk out on me when am talking? Wai what's wrong with you ne? Now sit down and listen to what am going to say". He added sounding so serious

. Mom humped before sitting back, shaking her legs furiously as if that will help ease the situation.

"Maman mujaheed".

"Naa'am"

"Maman mujaheed"
 
      "Naa'am"

"Maman mujaheed! How many times did i call you?".

      "Three" she answered slowly.

"Good. I want you to open your ears and listen to me attentively. Amina is a human being just like us, her being a sickle cell patient doesn't mean we are better than her or we are favored over her. No, that's her QADR and she's going through everything herself.... The pains, the aches, the rejections and even depression. Have you for once ever seat down and imagine mujaheed in a situation like hers? Have you for once think about the future and what might come out of it? Have you for once Care to know her feelings or what she's going through at her age? She didn't bring it upon herself, she never asked to be a sickler...Allah (SWA) brought it upon her and there's is nothing she or we can do about it. But that doesn't give us the right to treat her like a piece of garbage and throw her. She's someone who needs love and attention. Just a simple question, lets say Amina is your daughter and happens to go through all these phase. How will you feel as her mother? Seeing her crying everyday and getting emotionally drenched with thoughts. By Allah! This life is nothing. 

 Have you forgotten a hadith, where the prophet and his companions where walking and then they came across a refuse bin and he stopped for few minutes looking at it before he turned and looked at his companions saying "Do you see this refuse here? This dunya is just like this refuse here in the eyes of Allah. Hajiya are you still against him marrying Amina?". Alhaji asked slowly, hajiya couldn't say a word as tears keep rolling down her cheeks.

     "Have you ever sat down and think of what may become of his future? He dosnto have to marry a sickle cell patient to be sick or taint his family with sickness. There are lots of disease out there..cancer, tumors, tuberculosis, Aids, ebola, lasa fever and many more....how sure are you he'll forver be safe?".

"Am so sorry Alhaji. I made a mistake and am glad i have a husband like you. Jazakhallau bil jannah.

"Zaujatiyy mujaheed. How you? How's school? I missed you darling". I said through the phone. I was sitting with one of the decorators i hired, discussing about our wedding plans.

     "I miss you too. How are you and the wedding plans? Am so sorry zauj, just got four more exams to round up and I'll be over there helping you".

"Am not complaining. Take your time zaujatiyy. I love you so much".

"I love you too. Take Care". And she hung up.

     Finally, our wedding date has been fixed and everything is finalized. Finally Amina is going to be mine, finally she will be MINE.

Unknown to me, ladidi has her own plans on ground!.
