Aremu ordered his servants to take care of the prisoner. He was to be shaved and given a proper bath. Aremu still kept the syph stone on him. He planned to bind thier life force together should the mage go rogue. He had learnt the rune from Ala. The mage, Gbade was brought to Aremu after the appropriates.
"Are you going to take the stone off me?" Gbade asked.
Aremu knew very well that makes could not touch or weild the syph stone. It was one of the instruments Antimagicians used to subdue the powerful beings.
"Not yet." Aremu replied . He took a sharp knife and cut a symbol that looked like a star inside a circle and did the same thing to himself. The mage immediately guessed what had just transpired.
"You dog!" He accused. Aremu ignored his comment and cut himself. A similar cut appeared on Gbade too. It was successful. Convinced they had been binded, Gbade ripped off the stone from his neck. The mage's irises glowed fiery red. His powers were restored.
"So what do we do now?" The mage questioned.
A smirk formed on Aremu's face.
"We wait." He declared.
"In that case, I'm off to see my daughter." Gbade said before shifting to a majestic eagle and soared to the skies.

. It had been banned by her grandfather. She silently watched as people picked thier sides. She had to admit that she would have a tough task in front of her. Deep down, she still loved her brother. Even if he behaved like a psychopath. At the other end of the room was Adetoye and men and teens who had chosen his side. From the look in their eyes, they detested her. She had lost their respect. She was a witch now wasn't she? They would however bow when she won. There were also nobles who came to contest for the throne. Fools! She only wanted Adetoye and the rest of them were as insignificant as a white crayon. She would have to kill them though if they dared try to attack her.
An old man. An elder mounted on the high table to speak.
"Men, you have chosen your sides. May the best win."
And just as he finished his words, the battle Royale had began. It wasn't a crime anymore to kill. Infact, it was a law now.
"Are you ready?" Someone asked from Adeola's group. The  voice was farmiliar. It was Adewale. Luckily, she had come in time before his sentence.
"Yes. At least I think I am." Adeola responded with a quivering smile. Her brother laid a reassuring arm on her and said,
"Kill that bastard."
Somehow, every remorse and brotherly love that Adewale felt for Adetoye was gone since he was almost accused of treachery by the latter. They had a day to officially prepare themselves before anyone could attack or be attacked and damn, Adeola was ready.
"Wait!" Adeola's mother ordered.
One look at her mother and Adeola could picture what she was going to say. She was going to beg her to spare her of the misery of losing all her children to a stupid war.
"Don't do this." The queen mother begged."I don't want to lose all three of you."
As much as Ajoke wanted to reassure her mother that all was alright. All was not. Her mother was still healing from the wounds of losing her husband. Adeola could not bear to see her mother in that catatonic state again.
"You can't change my mind mother." Adeola said instead.
"Why?!" Her mother retorted." Is it because of the throne? I always thought Adetoye was a bit selfish and disobedient but not you. It disgust me."
Tears almost formed in Adeola's eyes as she battled on whether she should scream out her emotions or just let it go but the guilt her mother was making her face was defacing. If she wanted to know why she was doing this, she would know.
"It disgusts you?" Adeola screamed in fury and pain."let me tell you something mother. I'm not doing this for the stupid throne. I want to avenhe the death of my father who died in your very son hands and I'm-i'm the disgusting one."
Emotional flowed freely as Adeola burst into tears. Her mother had nothing to say. She was beyond shocked at the Revealation. Having said what burdened her, Adeola left her mother to decide who indeed was wrong. At the corner of her eye, Adeola could see her mother silently cry. It was not mourning. It was regret.

Ajoke just had the feeling she needed to segregate herself from the travellers. She wasn't pressed or anything. Something just told her too. She excused herself and went to a not to far bush to clear her mind. While sitting on the grass covered in dew, Ajoke could swear someone was watching her. Was it the shadow she could see visibly in the sunshine? It was definitely a man.
"Show yourself." Ajoke demanded.
The shadow turned and slowly walked into view,
"Is that how you were taught to greet?" The shadow asked.
The voice was farmiliar. The person was now near her and one look at his features made Ajoke gasp.
"Father?!"
Yes! It was definitely her father. Wasn't he supposed to be dead? Was she hallucinating? Several question popped inside her head.
"Aren't you happy to see me?" The man queried looking puzzled.
"You are not real." Ajoke said more to herself than the man in front of her.
"Daughter." He said as he took a step closer. His move prompted Ajoke to take a step back. Her memory of the maniac god was still evergreen. This could be another attempt for all she knew.
"It's me JO."He called her by her nickname. The words he said assured Ajoke that it was definitely her father.
"Father?" Ajoke whispered as she ran to him, holding him tight in a hug.
"Why did you let me go?" She whispered to his ear as she remembered the past.
"To see you fine and all grown up." He joked.
Ajoke was more than elated to see her father Hale but it worried her that her mother wasn't present.
"Where is mother?" She asked. Ajoke regretted it almost immediately. Her father's expression turned sour as he broke the hug.
"She's dead." He said coldly.
Ajoke felt her face moisten with her own tears.
"Aremu killed her?" She questioned even if she already knew the answer.
"Yes." Her father replied.
"Ajoke!" A voice screamed around the corner. It was Daruma.
"Where are you? We are about to leave." He kept on screaming.
Ajoke turned to her father,
"Come, you need to meet some people."
Her father's expression turned dark that it made Ajoke's stomach tighten.
"You mean the sons of the man that killed  your mother?"
"Ye-e-e-s" Ajoke stammered," but they are not like him. They are good."
Daruma was getting closer and Ajoke feared what her father might do if she did not stop him.
"I'll be leaving now." Her father revealed.
"Where?" Ajoke retorted.
Her father kissed her head and held her face in his palms,
"I'll come back and explain but I have to go now."
"Wait..." Before Ajoke could finish her sentence, she saw a bird in front of her and it flew off leaving dust in her face.
Ajoke stood dazed as she wondered if she was dreaming or if all that had just happened. Daruma found her and walked up to her.
"Is anything wrong?" He quizzed.
"No. Not at all." Ajoke lied putting on a brave smile.
Something told her not to tell the truth and strangely, she felt the need not to.
  AYETORO
The streets wee silent as night and there was no celebration. Did no one know they were coming? Had Aremu struck? Remi wondered what was happening as he held his hands closely to his sword. There was literally not a single soul on the road. No crying children and no noise. Suddenly, a war cry rang from behind them and in minutes they were surrounded.
"Join me and live." Adetoye offered.
What was happening? Remi wondered. His legion brothers also had a confused look written all over their faces.
"What is happening?" Gbonka queried as the head soldier.
"It's the battle Royale and I request your allegiance." Adetoye replied keeping an air of superiority.
"And who's your opposer?" Gbonka asked further.
"My sister."
The legion gasped. No one had been expecting this. Before Gbonka could speak, another group of soldiers emerged from the left headed by Adeola.
"Don't be fooled by my brother antics. Swear allegience to me." Adeola said.
The legion was divided. They had returned home for this. Who would they choose?
Adetoye knew he could not bear to lose the legion, the most powerful warriors of the kingdom. He had to do something.
"I suggest we let selfish intentions sway. Aremu could attack at any moment. We need to be together and not divided. If you join me, I'll spare my sister when I win. There is no need for bloodshed." Adetoye intended that part for Gbonka. He knew he would protect Adeola at all cost as was his promise to his friend, the late king.

. It was now or never.
"I don't think so." A voice said. It was a scrawny boy fin the legion's midst. He looked a awful lot like Remi.
"You're lying." Daruma accused.
What in the world? Adetoye exclaimed. Could the boy be like Remi? This was not good. He looked around to see if the assassins were prepared. It was now or never. If they did not join him, then they die.
"Duck." Daruma wailed as arrows rained down on them. Remi knew his intuition had failed him once again. Would they die like animals? The arrow suddenly stopped midair and dropped to the floor like toothpicks. What happened? Adeola's eyes were pure white as she turned on Adetoye.
Adetoye felt an invisible hand hold his throat and raise him up to the air.
"You live today." Adeola said in the voice of thousands, her eyes still white and dropped Adetoye to the ground with a loud this. It took him seconds to scurry on his horse and retreat leaving dust.
The legion was now assured that Adeola was the right candidate to swear their allegiance to.
