Arrows, javelins and other weapons of destruction flew freely from both sides, Enemies and allies fell.

Every man seemed to be avoiding Aremu but not Remi, he was going to face his father once and for all.

The man saw him coming and charge right at him, with a sword whose blade was as huge as an axe.

Clang! Sparks flee as their metallic wepons bashed themselves. Remi had to admit that Aremu was a better fighter.

The man kept on attacking in hopes that Remi would become tired and he would have the opportunity to end him.

Theanks to his premonitions, Remi could dodge the never ending attacks but he was beginning to lose his grip on his sword and watched it forced out of his hands to the floor where it loosely stabbed the earth, keeping it upright.

Aremu wanted to savour the death of the so called powerful being.

This wqs nothing but a boy, it was beyond shameful that he was compared to Ala.

His wife was more gifted in ways this wannabe would never comprehend.

"Give up, you loser."

Remi heard his father say.

Parents were meant to be encouraging even in the worst of times.

Maybe his father stupid words encouraged him.

On the contrary, it enraged him.

Remi suddenly felt himself flooded with rage.

He reached down, picked up his sword, and charged full speed across the clearing, ready to kill his father.

The man antupated his account and shielded his face from Remi's slash.

If he wasn't prepared, his nose would have been rendered useless.

"You lose when your emotions get the best of you . You don't think through."

Orange Sparks flew by his face as Aremu blocked a particularly vicious slash from Remi again and again.

Having enough, Aremu took a swing right for Remi's head.

He shielded his face but his sword got the message.

It split into two and Remi watched in horror as the only thing that kept the monster from ending his life fall to the ground.

Aremu placed his huge sword on the neck of Remi, a smirk on his face.

"Last words."

If the beast that happened to be his father wanted to grant him a last wish, it would be a question that had troubled him since he learnt his father's identity.

"What made you into this Father?"

Saying the words father was crossing the line was crossing and breaking his moral conduct.

This man did not deserve the title of Father and just because he happened to sire him didn't make him one.

Remi watched in awe as Aremu turned blue.

He was having difficulty remembering why he was doing this or why the young man he was about to end called him father.

"Just because you know something about my past does not mean you should play mindtricks on me."

Remi seemed dazzled that his father did not know he was his son.

Was there a chance he was doing all these for them?

"Refuse to admit it father, I am your son and Also is my mother."

He watched his father's expression lighten up then transform to a even devilish sneer.

"So I was right, they kidnapped you from me and killed tour mother

. They have corrupted you."

"Nooo!"

How could his father even think like this? He should own up for his mistake.

"It wasn't them. It was a god.Hell fire razed your kingdom."

Remi yelled.

Aremu's sword dropped as he silently whispered the word 'Esu'.

All the puzzle seemed to fit as Aremu instructed his soldiers to stop the battle.

The battle was awkwardly put to a pause and peace reigned as everyone turned to Aremu pondering on what could have made him sober.

"I was wrong..."

He said aside.

"I'm sorry."

"Well, well, well..."

Someone said interrupting the Rocky reunion.

Aremu turned to meet Gbade's malicious gaze.

"You knew, didn't you?"

He said accusing the mage.

"It was all my plan.until...your son ruined it."

The mage revealed.

"You've done a lot of bad thing all in a vengeful bid to get Ayetoro."

Gbade disclosed, keeping his malicious grin as he talked to a repentant Aremu.

"And heaven forgives all sinners.."

the mage continued,

"but you...you won't get redemption."

"Stop this madness, father!"

Ajoke begged but her father barely have her his attention.

Remi could sense that something worse was coming.

"I'm sorry for any harm I've caused you Gbade, I'll try to make up."

Aremu apologized.

"Shut up!"

The mage retorted, infuriated.

"You ended my family and you just want me to let it go."

The mage eyes flickered green and all in Ayetoro watched the sky darkness to a strange moss green colour.

Agreat shriek followed and creatures began to tear up from the earth.

They looked like half decomposed humans and their eyes were pure white although some lacked eyes.

"Kill him."

Gbade commanded the creatures who Immediately charged for Aremu.

Every soldier from each side pulled out their weapons in self defense, slashing every creature that came their way.

"Stop them."

People begged Adeola when they found out the creatures were immune to even death since they were already dead.

Adeola closed her eyes to channel he magic when a voice said to her head,

"I gave you your gifts and I can take it when I so wish"

She immediately knew her gift had been stripped off her.

"I can't."

She revealed.

Remi valiantly defended his father, the man he had despised minutes ago.

Aremu was still too shocked to move or even defend himself.

Gbade noticed the brave little child was becoming a pesky fly that stood in the way of his goals.

Aremu had to die.

He walked up towards the boy conjuring ethereal fireballs that he threw at the boy's direction.

The boy handled multitasking well as he dodged the fireballs whilst still protecting his father from the never ending soldiers of the undead.

"He is going to pay for all his sins Boy."

The mage threatened.

"Please..."

Remi tried to beg but it was far to let.

A telepathic force sent him flying and broke a ribs or two.

Remi found out he could not walk and knew his spinal cord might have also taken enough damage.

He could do nothing but watch.

Gbade approached his father, nothing but untainted hate in his eyes as he talked.

"Even hell doesn't deserve you."

Remind watched his father desperately gasp for breath as Gbade used magic to strip him of oxygen.

Remind watched in pain as he lost someone in his life, someone he never even got know.

***

One down,two to go.

Esu couldnt let go of the opportunity to end Remi and his brother once and for all.

The undead were a good choice for that, all he needed a was a simple manipulation and it would be his.

Since he's woud be banished from heaven if he interferred directly, he would only have to strip Gbade of his Mage abilities.

If Gbade was unable to keep the undead creatures in his control.

They would revolt, a manslaughter would have to follow but it was a meagre price to pay for Remi anf Daruma to join their father in the realm of the forgotten.

He looked around for the bottles that encased the powers of all powerful mages, Eledumare's protectors of humanity since the great war.

He found it, a yellowish bottle that encased Gbade's powers.

Looking around to see if the watcher had arrived, he opened the bottle and spilled it. He would like to see Remi push his luck out of this one.

He spilled the contents out smiling in anticipation on what was coming, Blood.

***

No one saw him coming.

No one suspectrr him.

The battle Royale was still ongoing but everyone except him we're too carried away to remember.

Adeola was his only threat and Adetoye could not wait for the opportunity to silently take her life.

He brought out a dagger he had hidden in his cloak, mad in antipation of seeing his sister dead.

He had to win, he must win.

Sometimes some things were just ordained by Eledumare.

One of the foul smelling creatures lunged for him before he could fufill his goal.

Adetoye brutally stabbed the creature in the heart in high hopes that it had one.

It's mad screech informed him otherwise and the creature opened it disgusting worm ridden mouth to feed on him.

Adetoye pushed the creature off and ran for his life with creature tailing him.

He was not the only one.

The creatures had turned on everyone chasing people like hungry zombie.

Curse the gods Gbade witnessed how the creatures turned to prey on other Innocent people. The undead were at times difficult to control.

He had gotten what he wanted, now he had to return the creatures to the grave before any serious harm ensued.

Relying on his powers, he willed them to return to where they belonged but his chants held no power in them.

He had to be dreaming.

Did his powers just fail him? He tried again refusing to acknowledge the fact that he felt nothing.

The abilities and the cosmic feel that always energized him was gone, a part of him was empty and like it had completely disappeared. Had Eledumare stripped him of his powers for abusing them? The answer to the question was obvious, his powers were gone and he could do nothing to stop the undead.

He had brought doom upon Ayetoro himself.

What better was he to Aremu now? The man he had despised and even killed.

More answers kept flooding his undwrstanding. He was just as bad as the man he just killed.

He had stripped him of fatherhood just like he did, killed people and he was about to cause even more harm when the undead striked the people and they were not soldiers but mindless indestructible killers who would not get satisfaction until they were all dead and perhaps even migrate to fulfill their quench for flesh and blood.

What had he done? Gbade looked up to the heavens and he could swear he saw a humanoidimage smiling down at him but it was not happy one, it was a sinister one.

The universe was mocking him.
