Crime To Love - Episode 9
Jennifer and Chizoba were best of friend’s right from their secondary school days in Royal Crown Academy Neboli. Their friendship was so intimate that even the parents of both friends called them “Ejima” because seeing one with the other absent meant that the one absent is sick or maybe travelled to another city. Even their school mates for the first three years in secondary school mistook them to be sisters but realized that they were not when the parents of the two girls came for the inter-house competition which the school usually organized after every four years.
It was of this intimacy which made both of agreed to be in the same university which nature actually considered their wish as they got admission into Ebonyi State University (EBSU) but in different departments. Their friendship didn’t have anything to do with their destiny and dreams . Chizoba had always longed to be a very good lawyer while Jennifer aspired to be an accountant. These then made them go in to study law and Banking and Finance respectively. They were good friends but of different character and temperament. Jennifer was a kind of girl who hated to be intimidated by any human. Her behaviour led to the attempted rape of Chizoba her friend because Jennifer had a problem with the capon of one of the most dreadful fraternities in the university

. She gave him a very embarrassing and severe slap before the Faculty of Theater Arts. Chizoba who was ignorant of the problem Jennifer had with the guy was in their room reading a novel while Jennifer had gone out of the campus to pick some things from the market when the capon and the other three unknown faces entered their room in an unfriendly manner. Chizoba looked with her mouth agape for with the look on their faces he smelled danger.
“Where is that unscrupulous ant that called herself Jennifer?” they queried in unison.
“I don’t know, I just came back from the lecture class now and what did she do?” Shivering like a person who had been under the snow for more than an hour, even the boys with her in the room could hear her hear beat.
“See young girl, no be story we come tell here”, a voice cautioned. “Any way capito I think this one can go in for her at least as a note drop of our coming, she has everything the girl has” a voice said.

. Chizoba shedding tears like a little child knelt down and pleaded for them to forgive Jennifer for anything she must have done, she begged them giving them reasons that Jennifer was still a small girl and didn’t realize anything she did. She also begged them not to do her anything and promised to caution Jennifer.
Piro, who was the capon of the Snipper pitied chizoba, how she was just shedding tears and begging them for mercy. He shunned the idea of raping Chizoba and even Jennifer. He fished out a pistol from his pocket and handed it to Chizoba saying, “Young girl, feel this”.
Chizoba was visibly terrified. All her life she had never touched a gun. It was true she enjoyed watching the police, the army, the hunters and film actors brandish their guns. But she had never been too close to a gun as she was now.
“Tell her that she should mind the way she approach guys for one day, she will meet her waterloo just because of her attitude. I am just forgiving her because of you. You are really a good friend, I must commend; try to pass this message across”. He put back his gun and ordered his guys to follow him, they left the room and Chizoba rushed and locked up the door.
This of course made Jennifer control herself whenever he mood is being triggered by any one on campus. Chizoba tried all her possible best to influence her but never could she because that was her character.
