Mrs. Anyanwu’s faith was gradually failing her, for she was beginning to believe that Cyril was dead. The doctor and the nurses asked every person in the ward to excuse them to run a test on Cyril which would determine his chances of living again.
Chike went inside his car sobbing as if he had lost his wife or even any of his parents. He begged God never to end Cyril’s life in that manner . Chike who9 had never prayed in his life. But he did so pray consistently till the forces of nature overtook him.
Mrs. Anyanwu could not yet believe that the thing happening was in the real life. She still gazed at the atmosphere without thinking of anything. Inside her purse Cyril’s phone and her phone lied. Soon Cyril’s phone started ringing; Mrs. Anyanwu casually pressed the green key.
“Hello who is on the line?”
“Please am I peaking with Cyril” Jennifer asked.
“Sorry young lady, Cyril is right now in the hospital, he had a very fatal accident some hours ago”.
Jennifer couldn’t wait to hear the whole story and burst into tears. Chizoba her roommate who was with her on the bed was confused and asked her so many unanswered questions. She then picked up the phone and saw that Mrs

“Hello please what is the problem, what happened, why is she crying” Chizoba asked.
Mrs. Anyanwu told her how the whole thing happened; she told Chizoba the hospital where they were. As Mrs. Anyanwu was just pressing the red button of Cyril’s phone, she started hearing some shouts of joy inside the ward where Cyril was supposed to be staying. She sprang up to her feet and ran towards the direction of the shouts. On her way she met one of the nurses and the nurse told her that Cyril her been in comma all that while and that the doctor has said that he would be out from the comma after four days. Mrs. Anyanwu seemed to be the happiest woman on earth. Chike, inside his car, was woken up by the shout from Mrs. Anyanwu. He stood up gently, realized that he was still in the hospital and ran to Mrs. Anyanwu who gave him the good news; he became excited and struggled his way inside the ward where he then saw Cyril for the last time and went direct to his Mercedes 190 which his father bought for him when he finished his degree exams. He entered the car, woke the engine and he directed the steering to the direction of his house to change over to another attire.

. They were consoled by the nurses and doctors but all was to no avail. Both of them know why they were crying but due to Mrs. Anyanwu’s ignorance of their reasons took them out of the ward to talk to them like a mother; she spoke for a very long time before she could convince them that Cyril was just in some days coma. She continued by telling them that shedding tears would never solve the problem. They were still talking when Chike, with the other three friends of Cyril’s, arrived at the hospital. Chike including the three other boys were amazed seeing Jennifer and Chizoba in the hospital. Chike, inquired from them to know why they had left school all the way from Ebonyi and came down to Apata without even considering branching to their house. Jennifer was defending herself nervously.
“Cyril came for a programme in our school yesterday, that was how he met me and my friend Chizoba; Today the news of his accident spread like a wild fire in the campus; Chizoba and I thought it wise to come down and see him”.
“We just arrived now, we will still go home”Chizoba chipped in.
He ignored all they were saying and moved to see his half dead friend. When they all left, someone staying close to Jennifer could hear her heart beat. Mrs. Anyanwu was simply flabbergasted at the drama that took place before her.
