Cyril called for a party in his residence two days after he was discharged from the hospital. All his friends were present in the thanksgiving party, which was very superb. It was in that party that Cyril was given the opportunity to thank all his friends, and most especially Chike, for his wonderful help, while Cyril was on the sick bed. He said that Chike was really a friend . They all ate and drank till they were satisfied and some became drunk. At the end of the party Mrs. Anyanwu took the floor and after some minutes’ speech handed a key over to Cyril and asked him never to go wasting money on his condemned car. Instead he should manage the TOYOTA CAMRY LE, which she willingly bought for him. Cyril was short of words and only ended in saying “Thank you ma, God will surely bless you abundantly”.

Cyril’s intimacy with Jennifer had now become the talk of Cyril’s friends. Everywhere they gathered in the absence of Cyril, they discussed his relationship with Jennifer. Onyeka had even gone to the extent of saying that it was Chizoba that must have helped Cyril in getting to Jennifer, Chike didn’t know that Onyeka said this because of his experience with the two friends when trying to befriend Jennifer, All he kept saying was out of jealousy and hatred which he had for Chizoba.

. Onyeka had traveled all the way from Neboli University to Filey to meet with Jennifer. Not minding the condition of the weather he had just been wandering about the university premises. He had been asking any person he saw Jennifer’s hostel apartment. But any person he asked expressed ignorance of where she lived. He felt disappointed and then went to the restaurant to have some drinks. Onyeka had already taken three bottles of beer when he saw Jennifer and Chizoba approaching the same restaurant where he had been for over forty-five minutes. He was partially happy and at the same time afraid for he didn’t know how Jennifer would react to anything he will tell her. Someone staying beside him could hear his heat beat. When Chizoba and Jennifer arrived they sat down and ordered for two plates of fried rice and two bottles of Amstel Malt, which was presented to them by the waiter in the twinkling of an eye.

Onyeka carried a bottle of beer and drew closer to their table in an unmannered way. Chizoba was provoked by what Onyeka did.  They were embarrassed and she scolded him in a very harsh voice.
“For Christ sake, what on earth brought you near our table; don’t you have manners at all?” Chizoba queried angrily.
“Babes I’m sorry for anything, but it’s just that I have been long waiting for you”.

. Onyeka said pointing at Jennifer.
Jennifer was confused because she couldn’t remember ever having any appointment with anybody not to talk of Onyeka whom she was convinced that she didn’t know at all.
“But what for, I can’t remember seeing or knowing you anywhere at all” Jennifer replied.

He chuckled and said “of course you won’t know me by any means. They first day I saw you was last week when we came to your house to celebrate with you, your matriculation; Believe me, since that day I have not got myself because of your beauty.”

The two friends laughed at his stupidity and made him a fool before every person there in there restaurant. Onyeka was ashamed of himself and ran short of words.
“By the way who invited you to the matriculation because I know I didn’t invite someone like you to my matric, so tell me who asked you to come” Jennifer questioned him.
“That wont be necessary, what matters is just understand that I love you so much, know that someone was somewhere thinking about you please. If you wouldn’t mind becoming my lover I will appreciate that”.

Chizoba was infuriated and she just stood up and asked Onyeka to leave their presence before she accused him of sexual harassment. The people inside the restaurant for some minutes now had been watching the drama by these three persons and now it seems the drama had got to its peak. All eyes were now on onyeka to know his next action whether he would leave of stay. He felt very ashamed because he had noticed that he was now the center of attraction of every person in the restaurant. He cursed the day he dreamt of coming to Filey to meet Jennifer; His annoyance was nothing but just that he had never been embarrassed like that by any girl. Worst even that he person who was asking him to go out is not the person he had come to meet. After all these, he shamefully stood up from his seat, went and paid for the drinks; He even paid for the two girls and left the restaurant. Everyone in the restaurant started laughing at the same time as if a whistle was blown for them.
