Fire Pain
There was pain in Gerald's eyes. There was love too but it had scars.
He hoped for kindness, hoped Margaret would come running through that door but she didn't. And it seemed she wasn't anytime soon.
His head leaned on his seat, he begun thinking about the memories they had made with Margaret but honestly speaking they had none. All she did was see wrong in him . He couldn't even remember the last time he touched her like his woman, maybe after Dee was born. Perhaps, he wasn't sure. But it had never or it will never cross his mind about cheating on her.
Timmy walked in," Dad, you still here it's midnight."
"Go to sleep, am okay." Gerald lied trying hard not to look into Timmy's eyes.
"Dad, talk to me. You know that I will always be here for you. I can see you hurting. You just finished three bottles of whisky." Timmy emphasised sitting on the table beside him.
Gerald insides were tight, he needed to cry because he was falling," My son." He shrieked holding Timmy's hands tightly.
"Talk to me Papa," Timmy consoled him.
"You know your mother has told me nasty things in the past.

. I am losing my Margaret, the flame of my heart." He confessed biting his bottom lip so hard not to cry.
"Dad, were things so bad????" Timmy confirmed with a worried face on.
"Things have never been good, son." Gerald said, pulling his hands from Timmy and poured some whisky in a glass.
"I don't understand Dad," shocked Timmy widened his eyes.
"Your mum was forced to marry me because of a promise between our fathers. She was cold and distant but after the pressure of having you guys, I saw her smile for the first time she held Ben in her arms, so we agreed to co-parent since she didn't want fatherless kids. She saw me as a co-parent and I saw her as my wife, my love, the mother of my children. But after Dee's incident, she is like an enemy. The hope of her ever loving me is crushed.
I think she never loved me or even thought of it. Sleeping beside her was always my happiness, seeing her sleep made my heart contented but now I can't even look at her because all I see is hate. My life has no meaning without her." Gerald shared the secret not realising all this time he was crying.
Timmy's eyes were stunned in surprise. He couldn't comprehend what he had heard.
"So the perfect couple, when we first met bullshit was a lie???" Timmy quivered standing from the table.
Gerald nodded lying his head on the table. It was an endless pain, he needed to cry but no he had to make it a strength which he tried but couldn't.
The more Timmy soothed him the more he cried.
Suddenly he rose his head," Did you find anything about Nick??" sipping his drink in rage.
"Not much, he seems good to me."
"Okay, what did you find out???" Gerald enquired wiping his face with whisky.
"He is Jasper Mwaingiwa's son."
Gerald spat his whisky.
"the man who was brutally murdered twenty nine years ago." Timmy continued innocently only to be cut off," Shut up." His father demanded pressing his ears with his palms.
