I looked at all I had done, and smiled satisfactorily, everything was in order, the house was perfectly arranged and sparkling. The dinning table especially was set, dressed with fine rich silk and blue plates that matched its colours. I made dinner myself although I must confess mum was on the phone all through. I wanted to make something special for Paris and had planned a little romantic meal together in the new apartment I moved into.
I checked the time it was already 30 minutes past the hour of 7 and I knew she would be here any minute. I heard a car drive in I took one last room and left the room offing the lights.
I stood by the drivers door when I noticed she drove herself this time, I opened the door for her and gave my hands to help her step out of the car like some queen. She looked at me smiling and took my hand and stood. I drew her in for a hug and gently kissed her neck "welcome babe" I said looking in her eyes

She smiled giving me a suspicious look, I locked the door, held her waist and we walked in.

"I thought there was light why us it so dark in here" she asked as we got into large well furnished parlour.

"Shh don't you worry about that, I will turn the lights on" I said as I hugged her from the back, I pulled her hair backwards as I kissed her lips, she quickly opened her mouth and kissed me back

. I pulled away and turned on the light. She just stood looking at me in amazement

"Fred what are up too" she said showing her set of beautiful white teeth

"Nothing babe, absolutely nothing" I said sounding mischievous as I walked to her

"Okay let's get you to the bathroom and clean you up, I can see you are very tired" I said as I turned her around placed my hands on her shoulders and gently pushed her

"Somebody is in a super good mood today, and oh God what's that delicious aroma?" She said as she inhaled deeply

"I don't smell nothing, I guess you are just hungry that's why you smell food, you know I don't cook" I whispered in her ears as I pulled off her suit jacket.

"OK I will let you freshen up meet me downstairs" I said as I left her in the room

I quickly went down set the dinner table put off the parlour lights and lit some coloured candles arranged in a love shape on the table. By the time she was done and about to open the bed room door I was already standing there waiting for her

"Oh Fred you scared me, what are you up too Fred you have been sneaky and mischievous this evening"

"Umm can you stay the night?" I asked looking serious

"Yeah of course I wasn't planning to go back home its late already" she said looking at me trying to understand what I had in mind

"You look beautiful" I said looking at her from head to toe, she wore a pink bump short and a white mini shirt that stopped just beneath her bust leaving her stomach uncovered.

. I smiled as my eyes still could not stop staring at her.
 She gently hit my cheeks "you are been a naughty boy this evening"

"Oh am sorry, hey look over there" I pointed down the corridor and she turned I immediately sweeped her off her feet lifting her up bridal style. She shouted laughing and hitting me.

"You are crazy" she said laughing

I carried her down the staircase,all the time not daring to tear away my eyes from hers. I dropped her down in the dinning that was lighted up by the candles bright enough to see the red roses scattered every where around the table. She gasped, covering her mouth as I pulled out a chair for her to sit and served her meal.

She smiled so much I thought her mouth would tear or her cheeks would burn from how much she blushed.

"Wow this is so romantic but I do hope the taste of this food would not send me to a hospital" she said laughing.

I said nothing just sat across the table with my chin on my hands and a smile in my eyes as I waited for her to put the spoon in her mouth.

Her eyes opened wide as she tasted the food "Fred your mother is around, there is no way you made this"

I laughed and laughed harder as she dramatically stood up and was shouting "hey mama, my love I know you are here come out" all round the house.

"Wow thanks this was palatial but you still haven't told me who cooked this" she said.
I looked at her then fixed my gaze at the burning candles

"You know candles are a light source, they shine so beautifully bright carrying that fire on their heads. But you do know without the candles thread it can't burn, it can't shine so beautiful."

 She said nothing just looking at me and wondering where I was going with this

"Together the candle and the thread burn gently till their end and when there is no more thread, there is no more candle." I moved close to her and held her hands. "Paris you are my fire, you are the reason why I shine so beautifully bright, you are my thread and without you I will lose my shine. Baby please burn with me till the end of my time, without you there is no me. Please marry me" I said now on my knees as I brought a sparkling diamond ring.

She was speechless for a while then showed me her fingers where another ring already was

"Babe I said yes before....."

"Oh you do know some phsyco doctor messed with my brain right? This is a memory I want to always have and cherish till the day I die"

She smiled, a tear rolled down her left cheek, she removed the old ring and flung it behind her. I fixed in the new and she flew into my arms in a hug.

"I love you Fred, I always will" she said sobbing silently.

Its been ten years now since that beautiful day I made Paris my wife, we were blessed with three children and now lived in Brooklyn where I worked as a doctor and she running her fast growing empire. Kunle still had 26 more years in jail as i heard the last time I called Dustan although he did say the phsco doctor mysteriously disappeared. All that is none of my business now, all I know is I married the love of my life and lived happy ever after.
