"I wish daddy was here"
Jasmin says as we stand in front of the boarding school.
I feel that familiar longing course through me and I squeeze her hands.
"It's fine baby girl"
I say as I kiss her head.
My baby is a grown girl now, she is even going to boarding school and everything.
"I will miss you Maman" she says and I nod, not trying to say anything so I won't cry.
Coupled with my longing for Garrett and other things I will totally break.
I watch as she drags her suitcases in and I wave goodbye.
She disappears out of site and I wipe my tears before getting into the car.
I drive the long distance home and it takes me two hours.
When I get home I slide the double door of the beach house open and our dog, bates runs out.
"Hello, boy, did you miss me?"
I ask and he gives a woof.
I smile at him and I walk in.
I got Bates when the loneliness got too much.
It was too lonely at night.
I make some coffee, I begin to take a dip when the double doors slide open.
"Is she gone yet?"
Garrett asks in an expectant tone and I squeal.
"You are home?!"
"I told you I would be back, why are you so surprised?"
He asks and I pepper his face with kisses.
"I know you said that but you know I can't be far from you, you were gone for two weeks"
I say and he kisses my lips deeply before swinging me around.
"I'm sorry"
He says and he sets me down.
I nod before answering his earlier question.
"Yes, she is at the boarding school already, she missed you, will you go see her next week?"
"I will"
He says as he bends down to scratch Bates who has been trying to get his attention.
"Do you want to go see her?"
He asks and I nod, the familiar pain going through me as I remember.
We walk towards the back of the house and get onto the bike there.
He drives us down to the cemetery and we get off.
We walk hand in hand down to the grave as I bend to pick sunflowers to place at her grave.
I sit by it and I begin to speak.
"Hey Mimi, how are you?"
As usual there is no response, I feel Garrett get down beside me and I lean into him.
"Hey brat, how have you been? I am back from my trip"
Garrett says and I hit his hand at the brat comment.
He laughs and we sit a while watching the sun and the clouds.
When I felt like I had lost my husband a man had stepped in, he had given me a choice, telling me I could choose between my self and Garrett.
Mimi paid the ultimate price, giving her life for Garrett's.
At the time I did not know what it meant but I later found out that Mimi was never coming back.
After that Garrett told me everything, everything about himself, how he was supposed to kill the Osei family and how Honey also know as Stephanie was the last he was supposed to kill.
About Will's betrayal, how Will wanted me and wanted to be like Garrett and how Will almost killed him.
The bastard.
Marcel comes to visit once a while and it's good to have a family of Garrett's.
His mom is still not interested in us so we are also waiting for her to come around.
We haven't heard anything from the Shaws and William and I hope that is the last of it.
"What are you thinking about?"
He whispers in my ear and I smile.
"How lucky we are to have a god watching over us"
I say and he kisses my neck.
"We aren't lucky baby girl, we deserve it and everything"
I nod because I know it's true.
I turn around to kiss his head.
"I love you Kis"
He says and I nod.
"Love you too, Garrett"
We stay like that and I feel full to bursting, I feel happy.
Yeah, it was good, my Beautiful Mess was and is still worth it.
