“I don't understand, in love with him,how?" Sarah asked in shock.
“Yes,am in love with him. It was love at first sight,I fell in love with him the night we were waiting for you at the hospital.......When I went out,did he say anything about me?" Bola said staring at Sarah.
“Well,no. He didn't say anything about you." Sarah said walking out of the room.
Bola ran after her.
“Then what have you guys been discussing?" Bola asked again.
Sarah told her they didn't talk about anything and left the room,she didn't tell Bola where she was heading to,she just left.
James and Sarah became friends
. She also told Mrs Mercy about him,she didn't want to keep her friendship with James a secret the way she did with Joseph, she didn't want what happened between Joseph and her to repeat itself. Mrs Mercy also advised her. She told Sarah to be very careful and shouldn't go alone to James's' house. Prevention they say is better than cure.
Bola kept pestering Sarah,she told her she wanted to visit James but didn't want to go alone so she asked Sarah to go with her. Bola kept talking about James,she had told all her friends and course mates about him. Each time she saw Sarah with James, she always wanted to know what they talked about

. She wasn't happy seeing Sarah with James but could do nothing about it. James hardly talked to her. When he visits the girls, Bola will offer him food and water but he always insisted on taking Sarah's food,and even asked Sarah to accompany him to the hostel,she will always turn him down and ask Bola and Titi to accompany him instead but James always insisted they stayed with Sarah at home. Sarah's safety mattered a lot to him.
One day,Sarah got a letter from Mrs Mercy that her father was sick and has been asking to see her. She didn't want to go and see him but James persuaded her to.
He told her to let go of the past because anger with only destroy her. Her father will always remain her father,he has no replacement. Sarah wasn't moved,she told James her father has been replaced by the village pastor since they drove her from the house. She said the only parents she has were Mrs Mercy and her husband. They took her in even when her family rejected her,they believed in her even when her real parents called her a failure. Sarah insisted on not going to see her parents until James threatened to end his friendship with her.
She got to the village and went straight to Mrs Mercy, she didn't want to go see her parents alone so she begged Mrs Mercy to go with her. She was so shocked when she saw her father. He was now very thin,it was as if his eyes were coming out of their sockets. You could easily count his ribs. Sarah was moved to tears,she ran to her father and hugged him weeping bitterly,when Mrs Mercy saw her hug her father,she smiled. Maigret sat on a chair beside her husband, she was also crying, she couldn't say anything.
Sarah told Mrs Mercy she wants to take David to the hospital. They took him to the village hospital and he was admitted. David apologized for how he treated Sarah,he was weeping, he said he only wanted the best for her but didn't know he was destroying her future instead. She forgave her father and went back home to prepare food for him. When she came back to the hospital, her father was no longer on the bed. She dropped the food with her beside the bed and ran out to ask the nurses where they moved him to.
