Agony Of The Heart - Episode 24

 

“What are you doing here?" Sarah asked. You could easily sense the anger in her voice.
“Am I suppose to answer that question? Sarah,what happened yesterday shouldn't ruin our friendship. Am here as a friend." James replied.
Sarah ignored him and headed to school,she still didn't understand why James said the rubbish he said yesterday. One man was enough to teach her all the lessons she needed to learn . She didn't want to hurt him but she also needed to protect herself from another wolf or so she thought. 
She wasn't happy staying away from James but she felt she had no choice. 
“Why does my heart leap whenever I see him? This is the first time am having this feeling." Sarah said,placing her right hand on her chest. 
After class,she got outside and found James waiting for her. 
“Why is he waiting under this hot sun? Sarah said trying to avoid him.
James saw she was walking away,so he quickly went after her and held her.
“Sarah,am sorry. Am very sorry for telling you how I feel about you,am sorry for ruining our friendship. Please accept me as your friend again." James said looking into her eyes.
She forcefully removed her hands from his and ran to her hostel. James went to visit Sarah the next day but she wasn't around,Bola told him she went to visit her mother in the village

. She also tried to seduced James again but she failed. James threatened to beat the hell out of her the next time she tried such rubbish with him. He left angrily leaving Bola in the room.

Sarah told Mrs Mercy about James. She told her everything that happened at the beach and how she felt whenever she was around him.
“You are not getting younger my child,you are growing into a beautiful woman. James shouldn't be punished for the crime Joseph committed. He is a good man,and I think with the way you are feeling,you are also in love with him,you just don't want to admit it. You even slapped him,my dear,you shouldn't have. Why don't you follow your heart and trust in God." Mrs Mercy said holding Sarah's hands.
“But what if I get hurt in the process,what if he is not who you think he is,what if he is another Joseph? Sarah asked.
“You don't have to worry my child,God is in control" Mrs Mercy said.
Two days later,Sarah went back to school. She had decided to follow her heart and love with her head like Mrs Mercy said.
James came to visit her immediately he heard she was back. Since she was too tired to cook,James took her to the restaurant close to her hostel.
“James,am sorry for how I behaved at the beach. Am very sorry for how I treated you". She paused and then continued. “Actually,about what you told me at the beach.............well...........I love you too but I don't want to get hurt." Sarah said looking away.
James couldn't believe his ears. Was he dreaming? He felt his life was now complete. He finally heard the words he had been longing to hear. He walked Sarah back to her room,spent some time with her and then left. 
Bola walked in,she had seen James coming out of their room.
“Are they back together?" She thought.
She went to Sarah and asked her.
“Well,yes. You know what,I also told James about how I feel today." Sarah replied smiling.
“I don't understand." Bola said.
“Well,I told him am also in love with him. I told my mother(Mrs Mercy) about him and she told me to give him a chance." Sarah said. She could sense that Bola wasn't happy about her decision.
“Are you sure you want him? Hope you still remember what Joseph did to you." Bola said.
Sarah said she trusted James,she knew he was different.
A week later,Bola invited Sarah to her brother's birthday party,Sarah didn't want to go but since Titi also invited her,she decided to go with them. When they got there,they offered her different types of drinks but she rejected it. Bola then came with a glass of red wine and begged her to drink at least a little. She didn't want Bola to feel bad so she took the cup from her and drank the whole content.

Sarah woke up the following morning in Ola's room(Bola's brother). She felt a sharp pain in her head. She tried to stand up but she was just too weak.
“Wait,where is everyone,why am I undressed,where are my clothes?" She said crying.
She saw a guy sleeping beside her,and just as she was about to shout,Bola walked in with James....
