                              **************************
It wasn’t long before midnight came and Sewa wasn’t surprised when she spotted a crow descending from the sky and perched itself at her feet, gawking and cawing at her. She knew she was being summoned and if she chose to go, the questions that had burdened her for years was going to be answered . It was ironic that the answers she craved for all her life was in the hands of the person she now dreaded most in the world.

With a firm resolve, she rose to her feet and watched as the crow flew to her eye-length circling itself around her head. The crow cawed loudly one last time and flew into the night as Sewa mounted her horse and chased after the bird.

An hour later riding through forests and valleys and past hills and streams, she found herself in front of an abandoned mine. The crow waited patiently for her in front of the mine and after cawing thrice, flew into the mine only to return the next second on the shoulder of a man with a scarred face. Half of his face had been charred off leaving only a bulgy eye that looked like it would fall off at any second and a grotty set of teeth on that side of his face. The other half of his face showed the handsome man he had once been with angular cheekbones and dark eyebrows, which sloped downwards in a serious expression.

Aside from his misshapen face, the man stood tall and proud, his one good eye held pain, anger and resent for everyone and everything it saw

. His lips were pale and thin and his nose slender and rounded. A prominent jaw curved gracefully around and the strength of his neck showed in the twining cords of muscle that shaped his entire body; strong arms, bold thighs and calves, a firm chest and abdomen.

Sewa found herself thinking that if there was ever a mortal that could be considered the champion of the gods, it would be this specimen of a man standing before her. Even though, he stood immobile and scrutinizing her, Sewa felt a terrifying wave of dominance, intimidation, and fear emanating from him. Without a doubt, she knew who this man was.

“So this is what you look like behind the mask.

. Without the scar, you would have been my type of man but it is rather unfortunate. I see why you have to use the mask, please never take it off again”, she jeered at him.

The man smirked, “That’s no way to talk to the man who owns your life in the palm of his hands. I decide how long you will live and when you will die. And don’t worry for I’m not attracted to flat-chested women either” he shot back.

Sewa stole a quick glance at her small bosom and squeezed her face in anger, “You said you have something I want. I’m here so what is it?”
The man smiled and nodded slowly, “Of course, in due time. First of all, I would like to commend on obeying my instructions. You came alone just like I asked. You see, I have value obedience and I respect those who comply without grudge”.
Sewa rolled her eyes and scoffed at him, “I’m fully aware”, she said remembering his speech back at the village square.

“If you had come with anyone from your party, they would have been long dead the moment you rode past the last valley”, he said looking behind her.

She followed his eyes and saw that she was surrounded on all sides. She spotted scores of warriors waiting in ambush with their arms in hand snarling at her and sharpening their blades.
He snapped his finger, drawing her attention back to him “Luckily for you, it’s a good thing your parents raised you well. Speaking of parents, there is someone you should meet”.
He gestured to the mouth of the mine and with only a little illumination from the moon, Sewa narrowed her eyes to see an elderly man with his head full of grey hair and his face heavily wrinkled as he strolled out of the dim tunnel into the open.

Under the moonlight, Sewa could clearly see tears flowing freely down his cheeks with a palm on his mouth stifling a cry.

Sewa’s gaped at the familiar face and she felt hot tears tingle her eyes as the old man palmed her cheek softly.

“Impossible”, she said in a croaked voice.
“When it comes to me, nothing is impossible”, the masked man stated, “Adesewa, meet your long lost father. Your search has come to an end”.
