Vivian's POV

“Ethan” I screamed loud enough for the whole school to hear. “What are you doing in New York?, I thought you said you live in California” I inquired with a huge smile on my face.

“I guess I did, but it's not as far as India to New york. What happened?, why are you here?” I looked down at my shoes for a minute thinking if I should avoid the question or not.

“It's a long story Ethan . A lot happened and I guess it's something to tell another day” I finally said

“I guess so too. This little witch here is my step sister and she had managed to force me to take her shopping today” he said hitting Teq playfully on the head.

“Thank God I'm not the only one that knows she's a witch” we all laughed at that

“I guess we'll  see you later. I'll get your number from Teq. Take care, Aditi”

“It's Vivian now” I corrected and he only replied with a nod before leaving with Teq in tow.

I walked into the cafeteria and ordered my food before finding a spot to sit and eat my food quietly. Apart from Teq, I don't have any other friend here on campus just the way I had only Indira as a friend back then at home. I guess I'm not the friendly type.

“Can you shift to the other side a little?” A blonde guy asked me

“Why?, because it would make you any less of a man if you sit in the corner?” That's the side effect of what domestic violence did to me

. I loathe men. And I'm bitchy towards them as ever.

“Oops, sorry I stepped on your toes, they were just too long to stay in your shoes” he said trying to sound sarcastic.

“Who taught you sarcasm, your Cat?” I replied which earned me a wide whistle and clap from almost everyone in the large room.

“You know what?, I think I like you” he said as he passed me to sit in the corner.

“I'm Alex by the way. I'm from Preston university. I'll be here for a while before the Trek begins” he said looking at me and waiting for a reply.

“Say something” he declared

“Like what?” I replied

“Like that”

“Like that what?”

“Like that what” I couldn't hold the laugh anymore

“Just stop already, nice meeting you then” I finally said

“Can I bring my friends over here?” He asked

“I don't do stuff like that” I didn't wait for him to reply before I stood up and made my way out of the cafeteria.

I walked into the library to get some readings done before I go in for my next lecture. I was really trying my best to get all the big grammers in when some girls behind me started giggling about something that I didn't even want to know about.

“Can you girls please lower your voices, you're currently in the library” I pleaded and the girls had the audacity to glare at me before they continued their discussion.

Can't this so called new guy just disappear so the whole uni can breathe in a new fresh air?. I'm done dying from someone's gorgeousness.

“You shouldn't wish something like that for someone like you” A voice said beside me and I turned around to see his face. He's cute and all but definitely not my type.

“Are you done checking me out?” He asked and I grunted.

“Keep deceiving yourself and when you're done, please go back to what you were doing. Thank you” I said before turning to face my book.

“You're Indian, right?” He asked

“No, Chinese. You can see our map boldly printed on my forehead” I said trying to be sarcastic and he just smiled.

“I'm African by the way, Nigerian to be precise and I'm Tobiloba, but you can call me Adams. You are?” I glared at him for that question.

“See, I don't care if you're from Pluto or mercury. All I care about right now is to read this thing. So in one single language, back off” I said angrily. He just nodded and said nothing. Why will I be angry at this guy for no reason?.

He was only trying to be nice and I was bitchy at him.

I turned to apologize for what I had done only to turn my head and see that he was gone.

Read " His Majesty " by the same author ( Penangel )

. I really need to find him and apologize.

I turned around to see that the mean girls behind me were now really glaring at me as if their lives depended on it.

What did I do? I didn't even collect your candies.

I quickly packed up my books and left the library. The next class ended in a disaster as Mr obnoxious decided to give us a Pop quiz. I failed terribly thanks to Mr Nigeria and the identical version of the mean girls.

“Hey, you remember us, right?”

“Yeah, who will forget someone who made them fail their pop quiz?” I said glaring back at the mean girls.

“Stay the hell away from him. Don't you even dare to think about him. He's not your type, so we'll advise you to back up” They threatened

“Are you girls sure your brain battery didn't drop off somewhere. I could help you find it, you know” they both look at me trying to comprehend what I was saying.

“Who is the *he that you're talking about?, cos honestly speaking, I don't understand you” I said trying to make a way for myself In the crowded hallway.

“We're talking about Adam. So back off” I took in a deep breath as I was able to comprehend what and who they meant. I just looked at them pitifully and walked out .

Today was such a long day.
