Kayode Felt cold like the aftermath of an Hurricane. His skin pricked and he felt dizzy. Caroline was engaged? His very own Caroline, engaged to someone else. He couldn't understand it. Didn't Edenna assure him that Caroline was only doing Sarah's bidding? Pretending to be in love with that so called Michael simply because Sarah was paying her to get revenge? Why then did she looks so sincere when she said yes I will marry you my love?
What about Edenna? Didn't she tell him not to worry? That, that Caroline would be his, and only his?

. How could he not have told Caroline how he felt? Almost 2years. For almost 2 years he had sacrificed alot to be her perfect man without letting his feelings known.
Caroline wanted a guy who would be overly supportive of her line of work, kayode made sure he became that man. He had gone with her to countless runway events and movie auditions. She loved guys who could cook. What did he do? He stopped hating the kitchen, and even learnt how to make her favourite local dish Egusi soup. . Caroline was his life's devotion. His passion, his muse. But she was an Expensive lady. A Calvin Klein, Gucci, Alexander McQueen type of girl and he was scared he couldn't give her the life she wanted. So he stayed in the shadows and never made his feelings known.He hoped that somehow, someday she would see the love and there would end up together.
But now, he didn't need to hide anymore. With his new job, working for Matrix Oil &gas as a topography technician he was going to be wealthy soon. He would give her the life that her beautiful soul deserved. He was the right man for her and he would soon make her realize it.
She would be estatic when he tells her how much his new pay check reads. He would buy her all the finnest things in life. She would see. She won't be able to help herself but love him.
He remembered the first time he saw Caroline. It was the day of the accident. She had just travelled from Delta to visit her sister. She was in Lagos for the first time, new to the city. She got mobbed and lost her bag in the process. Her atm card, and her sister's address where in it.
He remembered seeing the car hit her the moment before it did, dread in his eyes as he watched her hit the ground. She was dead until he rescued her. And when he did, he knew immediately, he had rescued his soul mate.
The five weeks that followed were the most challenging yet rewarding days of his life. He had manage to offset the large hospital bills with all the savings he had and somehow managed to book her an appointment with a physiotherapist. He didn't regret going bankrupt because of her. Neither did he regret the fact that he lost his job as a private teacher. Infact he would trade it all over again.
Caroline was his girl. He saved her life and nursed her for 5weeks until he was able to locate Edenna her sister.
For 5weeks she was with him. Not once did he try to take advantage of her. What was the need when Caroline was going to be his anyway. He feed her, bathed her, took care of her. And on those nights when the shock of the accident made her sleep fitful, he sang her a lullaby and slept in the same bed as her.
Not once did his emotion run deep. Caroline was his girl, he would wait.
