".... I didn't mean to take it this far, I just needed a place to lie low for a while"

I say to Aaron and he throws me a look that says he feels like throwing me out on the street.

"You have to believe me, I didn't know that it was Levi, I found out when we gob here and that's why I passed out, I didn't set out to decieve him"

"How am I even sure about that? How do I believe you, you've been lieing to us for the better part of two weeks"

"You have to believe me, I love Levi, I would never hurt him like that"

. That's just all you are giving me Addie. . Wait is your name even Addie?"

That hurts but I deserve it...

"My real name is Adeline, Addie for short, I didn't like being called by someone else's name"

He nods.

"Your feelings for him, are they even true? Or did you do that too hush because you needed somewhere to hide" 

"I've loved Levi all my life, ever since I was five"

"What?" 

"I'm his biggest fan Aaron, I know you won't believe me but I'm ready to lay down my life for him" 

"I believe you" He says after a while. 

"What?" I ask surprised. 

"It's hard to not see the love you have for my friend, it shines through your eyes, so does his for you" He says and I can't help but beam. 

"But you have to tell him the truth, Adeline, Levi hates being decieved more than anything, you have to let him know he is investing his feelings on you and not Adélie as he thinks"

. I will loose him then..." I say in a broken whisper. 

"You don't know that" He says. 

"But I do know... I know that I'm so far out of his league" Aaron sighs and pulls me into a hug, that's when I realize that the tears had come. 

"It will hurt, won't it?" I ask in a whisper. 

"You don't know that yet Addie" 

I lift my head from his chest. 

"Please give me a week, just one week, I promise to tell him everything" 

He nods and I settle back into his arms.

"I think she is here" Aaron says from the bedroom doorway and I stand from Levi's bed. 

We walk down stairs and into the sitting room to see her turning in a circle. 

"Pam's!" I cry like I haven't seen her in a year... 

"Addie!" We run into each other's arms spinning in a circle. 

Points to us for having drama down pat. 

"What happened? Why am I here right now? Are you in danger?" 

"No, no, Levi's friend brought you here, he was the one who called" 

Aaron steps forward and Pamela lifts her eyes to him. 

"Pams this is Aaron, Aaron my best friend Pamela" 

"Hi" Pamela says to him before turning her attention to me.

"Did you tell him, did they find out, is that why I came?" 

"Aaron is aware, Levi is out of the country, he thought that there is no need for you not to come see me since he already knows" 

Pamela nods, turning to Aaron to greet appropriately this time. 

"HI, I'm Pamela Owens, I'm sorry if I was rude just now, thank you for taking care of Addie" 

Aaron steps forward, taking the hand Pamela offered and shaking it. 

"She also told me about the situation with her boss, did he show up at your house again? '

"He came by today in fact, I had to make the taxi man drive around to make sure I wasn't being followed.... Although I didn't have to bother, this place is as hidden as can be" 

She says and I lead her to a seat,Aaron takes his too. 

"I hope they didn't bother you" I ask her. 

"It was hard work showing up at work like I wasn't aware what happened, but I think that part convinced them that I really knew nothing" I smile proudly. 

"Aww, my brave girl" I say to her patting her hair. 

"I think I deserve more than a hair pat Addie, I slayed a dragon for you, the least you can do is kiss me" She says jokingly and I laugh. 

"You did well, so let me get you a drink, I will be sure to kiss you when you slay an actual dragon" she pouts comically. 

"Wench" she says. 

"Brute" I reply before bending to hug her. 

"I really missed you pammie bear" 

"Don't call me that in front of a hot man and go get me that drink" She says pulling away. 

I totally forgot we had an audience. 

"Both of you don't mind me, please, carry on" He says and I kick his leg,the good one. 

"What's up with you and your boyfriend manhandling me?" He asks and I do it again. 

"Do you want anything?" He shakes his head and I exit the sitting room to get Pams her drink. 

When I return we talk more about James and then we finally go down to the media room to see a movie. 

I settle in Pams arms as Aaron slides in a Rom-Com, he got out voted by I and Pamela. 

Before soon I become sleepy and I feel someone throw an afghan over me. 

I go out like a light.

Pamela. 

"Thank you for taking care of my friend" 

I tell the injured hulk of a man sitting on the ground besides me. 

My eyes are on Addie, he had thrown an afghan around her and she's sleeping like the pretty baby she is. 

"It's nothing" He says and we go back to our movie, it's already settled that I would be sleeping here. 

"I just have one question" He says after a while. 

"Hit me" I say to him, taking my attention off the TV. 

"Has she tried to atleast look for her birth parents? Know why they abandoned her?" 

I shake my head. 

"She's been going for therapy from time to time, the doctor thinks that she shouldn't do that just yet, maybe later in the future when she is more emotionally stable" 

"Why?" 

"Ever since she was brought to our foster home she had being a fragile child, it's a wonder that the stress of the past few weeks hasn't gotten to her, she isn't ok ok, any burst of pain now will likely set her recovery back" 

"What happened?" He asks. 

"She was traumatized as a child, doctors believe that she experienced something she shouldn't have, took us 3 years to get her to talk" 

"Shit, yeah?" 

"Yeah, any sudden changes can take her back to those times" I say my eyes going to her. 

"My baby has gone through a lot of pain in her life, this is most likely her reward" 

He doesn't reply to my comment and in the darkness of the room as movies play I admit that I find this man attractive. 

"Thanks again for keeping her secret, even if for a week" 

"I think I should be rewarded?" He says, posing the statement as a question. 

"Yeah? What do you need?" 

"What was it earlier?.. Oh.. Yes... A kiss will do" 

I lift startled eyes to him. 

"I think you should take me on a date first" I say cheekily and he laughs softly. 

"You bet it" 

He says and we turn back to the TV.
