"Dad Tell me you are joking?"

the petrified Mirabell asked.

"joke? Cracking stupid joke with the Mayor's name attached?. Who does that?"

Chief Gavin asked. he still haven't recovered from the laughter his wife caused through her Joke.

"i can't believe this!"

Mirabell slammed the table angrily. Hot tears burned behind her eyes as she scanned the the curious set of eyes which were now channeled towards her . She felt like screaming at each and every one of them but considering the later effect, she resolved to control her nerves. If she dares say a word further,tears will flow down her cheek and she wasn't willing to let them see her tears. So with that, she stood up and ran up to her room leaving them astound.

"what's wrong with her?"

Frank quavered immediately.

"don't mind her, every thing is in control. She is only stricken with awe."

Chief gavin said in order to calm the situation despite the amount of anger running down his veins.

"Does she always behave like this?"

Mayor Lucas asked as he tried to recover from the wave of astonishment. "atimes, especially in the face of a bewilderment."

. She was heart broken and devastated. She couldn't believe that she had been living her life all these while with out the prior knowledge that she was betrothed to some one right from her infancy. No wonder her parent had strictly prohibited her from having a boy friend. She felt the pieces of her broken heart falling into the pit of her stomach as she remembered her brother's last caution before he left. "i have overheard dad and mum so many times discussing about a secret that has to do with you. I think they are hiding something from you. I guess what ever it will be contradictory to your choice and happiness. I am just informing you so you get ready for the worst in the near future" she cried aloud as she remembered this knowing fully well that what he said few years back was now manifesting. She needed some one to talk to so she quickly dialed her brother's number.

"hello bro"

she said soberly.

"mirabell, are you okay? Your voice is teary"

Felix asked.

"you are right bro. You are obviously right" she cried.

"i don't understand. And why are you crying?"

"you are right when you told me that Dad and Mom were hiding something from me"

"what happened sweet heart? I am totally addlepated"

"i just found out that i am betrothed to Frank Morgan the son of Mayor Lucas Morgan the billionaire"

Mirabell answered.

"What!!!!"

Felix screamed. Formally, he was sitting comfortably on the offostry in his flamboyant sitting room but his sisters reply made him jumped to his feet immediately looking exasperated.

"did you just say Frank Morgan?"

he asked again.

"yes bro. They are even here in our house probably to process the marriage rites."

she replied.

"Never! This is not happening! Its never going to work! i can't believe the devil is nearer than i thought"

Felix found himself ranting.

"Hello bro Felix , i am so devastated right now. I don't know what to do. I love Harry so much and i don't want to leave him. I want to spend the rest of my life with him and not with any one else. I also don't want to break his heart with this news."

She cried.

"look Mirabell,"

Felix continued.

"never you accept that marriage i have my reasons. Just fight for the Love you have for Harry. Allow the power of love to win this circumstance. I will find a way to help you out"

Felix advised her and that motivated and encouraged her.

"The power of love must win this battle"

she muttered as she dialed Harry's number immediately after the call with her brother.

"hello my sweet heart, how are you?"

Harrison asked as soon as he picked the call.

"did you love me Harry?"

mirabell asked instead.

"yes of course"

he answered.

"would you love to spend the rest of your life with me?"

she inquired again.

"for sure my baby. I am going to spend my life with no other person than you.

she inclined and then disconnected the call. smiles played through her lips as she thought of at all Harry has said. His response impelled her to proceed with her plan. Harry was delaying things so she has to take the bull by the horn herself if that's the only way out. See don't want to mind the odd in what she has in mind to do.
