Mirabell increased the swiftness of her steps towards the gate and then knocked instantly. She looked behind again as she waited for the gate keeper to tend to her, no one was there. The strange man she saw have disappeared in the darkness. She wondered who he was and what he was upto because she was certainly sure he was looking at her., HER heart was still pounding rapidly even after she got into the compound. She just gave instruction to the gate keeper warning him to be careful in guarding the gate.

''Dad ! Dad!! You better come out here and listen to this!''

Frank banged on his father's door angrily despite the fact he knew quite well that he should be asleep at that very moment.

''Dad! I want you out of this room now! I can't take this, I really can't!''

he yelled further at the closed door.

"whats wrong with you frank? Why are you disturbing every one's peace by this time of the night? Have you been drinking again?''

John his senior brother asked on coming out from his room . frank's noise was really irritating and so needed an immediate caution.

''this doesn't concern you !''

he exclaimed and continued banging on the door till it was opened. The Mayor came out of his room wearing an angry look.

''whats wrong with you young man? Where are your manners?''

. ''this doesn't have any thing to do with manners. This all about reality. You and mum had succeeded in ruining my life!'' the aggravated Frank expounded.

"will you be formal ! I don't understand where you are driving at'' the Mayor bawled in a gruffy voice.

"how can I waste my life in waiting for someone who is waiting to be engaged to another? How I you guys do this to me? I even went as far as giving up the lady I love so much because it is written behind my mind that I have someone bethroted to be my wife''

"i don't get you?''

''that girl Mirabell is engaged to someone else who is some where making plans for their marriage. ''

Frank screamed at his father.

''you are joking frank, this can't be true''

''oh come on dad' its the f*cking truth. She told me about it her self and walk away!''

"what!, this can't be. How on earth can they stab my back?''

he asked no one in particular. It was obvious he became incensed at this point. But being an experienced man , he he knows how to handled his anger suitably.

''son , I suggest you should go to bed and sleep over it. For now, you are drunk . We will know how to resolve the issue tomorrow.''

he chastised and retired to his room. Frank turned around and head to his room muttering incoherent words. John swung his head left to right before he retired into his room too. His younger brother will always remain stubborn.

Mirabell went into the house and found it as silent as a grave yard. This obviously proved that every one was asleep. so therefore she could not make it up in telling her parents about her engagement with harry. she couldn't tell them of it the following day either because she has the obligation to be in the office . So she let the sleeping dog lie for the main time. However , her Dad heard of it from the Mayor and became furious that He had to go into her office To interrogate and seek confirmation from her. ''whats this I am hearing from your proposed husband ?''

he quried on getting into her office. With that question, she knew that the appointed time has come. She really have to make him understand that she has already chosen who she wants to be with. At that, she showed him the same finger with which she was putting on the engagement ring and said.

''dad , my boy friend proposed to me few days ago and I accepted to marry him.''

''you what? Did I just hear you right?''

chief Gavin exclaimed finding it hard to believe what he had heard. Mirabell looked away from him. She obviously don't have the courage to handle eye contact with him.

''Mirabell how did I ever went wrong?" Gavin continued.

''why do you choose to embarrass me like this? Is it wrong in seeking for your happiness?'' ''no dad, but since you said its for my happiness, drop it because that doesn't guarantee my happiness. The only thing that will make me happy is Getting married to Harry. ''

she elucidated hoping he would understand .

''you know what Mirabell, in as much as I am concerned, you will get married to no other person apart from frank. If you keep proving stubborn, you will then have it the hard way , period!'' chief Gavin bollocked and stormed out of her office. She faced down the table in consternation and sobbed . they are already rich, she don't understand why her dad is so bent on a rich suitor. Shortly, her phone began to ring. string of joy began to play instantly in her heart as she recognized the caller. Who else could make her heart rimaroll even in pains if not Harry. Only heavens can tell how happy she is when ever their is a call for her to hear his voice because His voice have a special way of touching her heart and resetting her pessimistic emotions no matter how sad she is. ''my heart cooler'' she greeted the moment she picked the call. ''my every thing. hope you are not over loading yourself with work?'' came his voice from her phone.

''my normal duty dear.'' ''have you tell your parents about us? '' he inquired.

"no need. My dad had learnt of it'' she said sadly. ''the way your voice sounded it tells that things are not going positive.'' ''yes. he is bent on giving me out to Frank no matter how hard I try to protest'' ''don't worry my angel, we will over come this together.''

''i hope so.'' she agreed. ''so do you mind if we goes out tonight?'' he requested.

''great! Do you know how much I have tasked for that?'' she exclaimed in excitement . She really can't wait to see his face again. ''same here. I will pick you up by 7:pm tonight.'' he said. ''no, I will come over to your house and we will take off together.'' she explained. ''I want to pick you up as real gentlemen does.'' ''its just gonna be a stress to you because you don't have a car. allow me to come over . That way, it can be easier for you.'' she demystified.

''its not gonna be a stress to....''

''oh baby come on. stop dragging this. You know I will always win'' ''you don't always win'' he protested. ''i always do. Have you forgotten the time we embarked on staring competition? I won. Have you forgotten the dancing competition during lovers night. I also won. Have you forgotten .....''

''yes you won... But I am not a looser."

he articulated defeatedly. ''i know I will win. I love you so much.'' ''i love you too. See you during the evening'' he concludes before hanging up the call. As scheduled, she went over to his house even before the time agreed not knowing that kennedy (frank's minder) tagged himself along. He did a good job in following them with out their knowledge. He was even smart enough to put their discussion in the bar into a phone record. Also capture pictures when necessary especially , when they hugged and kissed themselves.

''So, how far have you gone about the assignment I gave You?'' Frank inquired of kennedy the moment kennedy stepped into his office. ''i am at finishing point. I got more than enough necessary information boss.'' kennedy replied. ''can I have them?'' ''sure boss"

 Then he did a little work on his phone's touch pad and then handed it over to Frank.

Frank viewed the pictures one after the other with face boiling hot at each of them . with what he could see, he knew but hate to admit it that the duo are so much in love with themselves. He felt like escalating the moment he saw the picture that have them kissing. kisses on those cute lips of hers should be for him and him alone.

''That guy's going to hear it from me. He don't know he is playing with fire.''

he murmured before going forward to play the video. There , harry was confessing his love for her and then telling her that he will be coming with his kinsmen to formally seek her hand in marriage during the weekend. All these made him angry and jealous. He thought rationally and then came to a conclusion of scattering their plans and bringing disaster. ''

They better watch out for me because I strikes without mercy.'' he muttered.
