I hesitated before making an attempt to open the door. It was after uncountable knockings, and the door was pushed open. It was Dozie. I sat still where I was. I had to sit down when I noticed the door had been opened.

"Guy, you didn't even lock your door? And I knocked countless of times", Dozie asked. I ignored, because I was still trying to clean off tears that clogged in my eyes . He tapped my back and I shook scarily. I looked at him and removed my eyes.

"How far? What happened? You were sacked. That can't happen, anyway", he said as I stared at him again while looking up.

"Your eyes are red. So, what happened?", he asked again.

"It's nothing. What brings you here?", I asked and stared at the wall clock. It was almost 10:30PM, and he was still wandering around.

"Guy, so I no fit come your house again. I was stuck in the traffic and decided to branch here. My house would currently be untidy, and I don't want to start arranging everything. I don't even know when I'll get home; the gridlock to my place is hectic. I am stressed and need food, jor. I'll leave from here to work early morning, tomorrow. I still have some clothes in my car", he said.

"Okay", I nodded

. "I don't have any thing that's cooked, but some shops and canteens are still open out there", I said, ignored him and entered the room. I heard him mutter some few words, "this my guy must be going through a lot". I heard the door jammed closed. He went out to get a food. After some times, he came back. He got a pack filled with food, I guessed and had a black nylon bag on his hand. I stared at him weirdly.

"Guy, I got enough food, if you care for some. There is suya and Heineken you can drink too", he said.

"I think I care for suya only", I said. I went to the dining table and joined him. It took me up to five minutes to munch at least a suya meat. I gazed at Dozie as he finished the food so quickly while devouring the chicken. I wanted to laugh and caution him but I wavered it. I wasn't in the mood.

"Err, guy I'm heartbroken", I blurted out immediately. I didn't know when I said that, and I wished I could recall what I  said. Dozie didn't say anything in return. He was busy still struggling with the chicken. I assumed he didn't hear me. I continued eating the suya while he concentrated on the chicken. After he was done, he packed the plates to the kitchen, cleared the table. He peered out from the kitchen, cackled and yawned. He came out from the kitchen with a glass cup filled with water. I stood up from the dining chair, walked to the sitting room and sat on the sofa. Some minutes after, Dozie joined me with a can of Heineken in his hand. He opened it and started laughing uncontrollably as he gulped down some.

"Guy, I hope all is well?", I asked.

"I should be asking you that, Mr heartbroken lover boy", he said and continued laughing.

"So, tell me who broke your heart? Funmi?" he asked and continued laughing.

"Your guess is so good. Why are you this good?", I said and smirked. I was almost joining him in his laugh tirades but controlled myself.

"So, how did she break your heart, I thought you guys were just friends", he said.

"I thought you knew everything, guy? As in Mr. Know-it-all", I said and laughed. I unlocked my phone, scrolled to my chat with Funmi and handed it over to him. He read the chats and started laughing in a high pitched voice.

"What's funny? Guy. It's late. Stop shouting", I said.

"Guy, this is funny. Very funny. The girl is in love with you, and you are here falling hands.

. She wants you to try harder", he said.

"Really? I'm definitely not a circus clown and won't be caught running around the circles", I said.

"Stay there. All these girls you dabble in equality stuff with, are nothing, jare. Fake feminists. They preach equality but looking for a prince charming to try harder in sweeping them off their foot", he said. All I could mutter was, "Baba, shut up. Your chauvinistic self can't ascertain all", and I went mute immediately. I was deeply in thought.

"Guy, I don go sleep", he said and he left me in the sitting room. I sat in the sitting room thinking, while gazing at the decking. I went to bed in thought when I noticed it was 00:00Am and I had to be awake early during the day. Dozie woke me up in the morning after he had gotten ready for work. I watched as he drove out before I went to get ready for work.
