In the evening, they spent time cleaning their new home, taking out the trash and making the house look presentable. And also to be comfortable for them to live in it.

Mr. Onyinmadu walked in from outside and his face looked flushed. "Ah, good work guys. We can live comfortably here. Everywhere looks clean," he smiled.

His wife didn't say anything. Only the children nodded and continued with their works . "Wow, now I can rest," Mrs. Onyinmadu finally raised her head and said.

Anita worked tiredly and beads of sweat dribbled down her head. 'Huh, the antennae to this T.V is broken, do they even show any channel here? Dad, we need to install our DSTV decoder, I can’t watch this," Anita frowned using her hand to wipe off the sweat.

"Of course dear, with time," Mr. Onyinmadu said sitting on the chair.

There was a knock at the door and Gabriel ran to open it. A couple stood at the door smiling at him while he opened the door. He guessed they were a couple from their look. At first, he didn't smile back, then in a flash, he smiled back at them. They held a basket filled with fruits and wine.

"Hello, little boy, is your father at home?" the woman beamed at him and while the man rather had an uncanny smile.

"I am sixteen. I am not a little boy" Gabriel frowned at them and turned into the sitting room

. "Dad, we have visitors," he said in a croaky voice.

"Oh, already?" his father said from the living room.

He stood up and dragged his foot on the floor, then walked to the door and smiled at them, "Welcome." Then they exchanged handshakes.

"Good evening Sir, we came bearing gifts, to welcome you to our village," the man said beaming.

"Oh thank you, please come in."

The couple entered the house, looking around the whole sitting room.

"We are members of the City of David church in this village. And we are also one of the biggest members," the wife said.

"Oh that’s good, my name is Pastor Onyimadu. I am the new resident pastor."

"Yes, so we heard, it has been the talk of the community. Once again welcome, I hope you will be a good leader to us all, we all need your guidance and help especially after what happened to….." the man stopped, glancing at Gabriel and his expression changed. "Well, we just wanted to welcome you on behalf of the members of the church.

. It is good to meet you, sir. See you on Sunday."

"Of course. On Sunday, I shall properly introduce myself to the congregation. Goodbye, and thank you." Mr. Oyinmadu smiled at them.

After they had gone, Gabriel stared at his father.
"Dad I need to ask you something, why does no one talk about the previous pastor. What happened to him?"

"It is not clear exactly what happened but he was discovered at the border of the village completely mad and mumbling incomprehensible words to himself. No one knows what happened, they had just woken up that morning and found him laughing to himself. The church took him to an asylum and brought me here to replace him."

"Wow!" Gabriel shouted, staring shocked.
His father suddenly grew serious. "Son, be careful, when we entered this village, I sensed something sinister here. There is definitely something ominous about this village. Be careful with the friends you keep and who you collect things from."

"Of course dad."

"Alright, now go to your room and unpack."
He walked slowly to his room thinking back to what his father had just said

"Nawa o," he whispered.
