The Man I Love - Episode 4
Emeka was confused, he didn't know how to tell her that he had poisoned the juice and
that he was about to take his own life...
He looks at her apprehensively...
she was laughing still, unknown to her that she was about to visit her maker.
"Please don't drink it there's more inside the house you can take from there and drink to your fill,
please Tosin don't" He pleaded.
"Emeka I don't understand! why are you
begging me because of this glass, why not
get another one for yourself,
I want this one". She replied, raising the
glass into her mouth
“Arrrggggh!” She shrieked.
Glass shatters…
Emeka had pushed the glass from her hand and it spilled leaving the shattered pieces of glass strewed on the floor and her dress
smeared with juice.
"Emeka what have you done?"
as she looked at her clothes, not knowing
whether to be mad or sad…
"Tosin I’m really sorry” he apologized as he
tries to clean her dress with his hands.
“leave me alone” she says flinging his hands from her dress . What was that for, why did you push the glass?”
“you won't understand"
"understand what Emeka, what is it that you can't share?"
"The juice was poisoned, I wanted to end it
all", he shrieked in pain.
Immediately, he fell on his kneels and
started crying bitterly.
“poison!” she echoed with her eyes wide
open, startled at the fact that she would
have killed herself with her own hands.
“But why?” she asks
"I should be asking you that, why did you
decide to come today at the eleventh hour? why didn't you come two minutes later, you spoilt everything” he blunted out angrily.
Tosin couldn't believe her eyes, this was her youth president crying like a little child...
"Emeka, why would you attempt suicide, for what reason?"
"Hani left me, her wedding is around the
corner, i can't take it, I can’t”
"Oh my world!
I’ve been wondering what was the reason
behind the sudden change in your countenance because you are far from what you
used to be,
even though you try to deceive everyone
with your false smile.
Hence i took it upon myself to check on you today,
nevertheless Its okay, everything will be
fine just calm down, there's more to life
than relationship” she encouraged him.
"Don't tell me to calm down” He replied
angrily
“you don't even know how it feels like to be betrayed by the person you love the most,
not to talk of when the person has been with you for over five years whom you share
everything with,
only to walk away all of a sudden without
any tangible explanation,
I can't take it, why I'm I even talking to you when you don't even know what it means
like to be in love with someone"
Tosin couldn't stop tears from flowing through her eyes, she was never bothered about
her not being able to like any of the men
approaching her but this got to her,
"did he have to rob it on my face…?" She thought to herself.
It dawned on Emeka that he had crossed his limit..
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that...please" Emeka apologized.
Tosin bent down and said to him;
"I may not know what it means like to be in
love with someone but I know what it
means to love and value people

nothing justifies your act for attempting
suicide, there are better days ahead.
By the way, the Lord led me here, I didn't
plan visiting you today, now I know why i
came.
Remember how you pray and encourage
people during their hard times, its high time you said those words to yourself.
Its an error to trust God for people's issues and doubt him when it comes to your life
issues.
I have to leave now, do well to call me
anytime you need anything or an ear to
speak to, I will be here for you..." She said.
as she was leaving, Emeka said to her,
"Are you serious about standing by me
anytime I call on you?”
"yes I am, you are my friend and what are
friends for if not for times like this" Tosin
replied
"Marry me Tosin"
