The God And His Bride - Episode 19

 

From there on out it was a blur.. A big messy blur.

"Star... Talk to me, tell me what happened" A voice is saying over a loud noise in my head, who's shouting, why can't the person shut up so I can concentrate?

"Star, Baby, you have to calm down and tell me what's going on" the voice repeats and I finally realize that it's Jeter and he's talking to me.

I have to calm down, I have to find the shouting person and make him quiet.

"Star!" Jeter shouts and I still, my eyes finally leaving the theatre doors to look at him, the shouting person stops and that's when I realize that it had been me shouting.

"Jeter" I whimper.

"Calm down baby, you don't look too good, he's in surgery, We have to know what happened, so that we can help me, do you understand, did you get all that?" He asks, his hands on my face and I look into his eyes trying to steady myself.

"Star, did you get all that?"

"Yes" My voice says hoarsely and I finally realize that I'm standing In the surgical ward, how? How did I get here, I can't think beyond the pain I'm feeling

"What happened?"

"We were talking... He's sick.

. I tried.. Oh gods I tried to heal him Jeter... Oh gods I think.. Something went wrong, did I kill him?" I ask the last part in a whisper.

If I had had full control over my emotions at that point I would have realized what I was saying at that point but I didn't and I did not care, I just want Ezra to be okay.

" We won't find out until we find out, he's with Mark In there, stay calm okays?"

"Please Jeter, you have to make sure he's okay, he can't die" I say and he nods, kissing my head as he sets me on a seat, bending to sweep my hair off my shoulder and looking into my eyes.

"Star, Calm" He says and I take a deep breath before nodding.

He moves away, giving me a look to make sure I don't break down yet again. As I seat there I begin to recall..

I remember shouting for help and a nurse bringing down some ER doctors down, he got wheeled up to my ward and that's how Jeter got to me.

Crying and blubbering over Ezra Kane, gods I hope he's fine, I won't live if I had mistakenly killed him.

I bite my lower lip, wringing my hands as I wait for news, Jeter has refused to let me in the theatre, I'm sure I look a sight, crying like a child.

I have refused to think how it must look to Jeter that I'm crying over my ex, although he does not know that Ezra is my ex but I'm sure he has put two and two together, he's not stupid.

I stand when Mark and Jeter stand up, Mark looks plain confounded while Jeter looks stoic.

Something's wrong.

I turn my eyes to Jeter, What's wrong? I silently ask.

"Star..."

"Is he okay?"I ask Jeter but it's Mark who answers me. 

" Okay! Okay? He's more than okay, He's almost healed! "Mark shouts, looking like he's about to have a nervous breakdown. I don't understand a word of what he's saying, I turn back again to Jeter. 

"It's a spontaneous remission Star, I saw his chart and from the way things were he had only about a week, two weeks tops but at the rate the cells in his body are healing he should be okay before the end of the month" Jeter says and the only word I cotton on to was okay.

I breath in a sigh of relief, resting back against the wall and closing my eyes.

He's going to be okay.

Ezra is going to be fine.

"He's awake, asking for you" Jeter says and I nod.

I begin to walk past him but he grabs my hand.

"Star.." He says, his voice holding a quality that I've never heard.

If it was sometime else I would have stopped, looked him in the eyes and reassure him that I'm here, I just need a moment but alas, I'm blaming my insensitivity on the jumble of emotions I have locked in my belly.

"Uh?" I ask, looking into his face impatiently.

He watches me before smiling and letting me go.

"I'm right here baby girl" He says and I nod.

I enter the room to see Ezra pulling out the needles in his arms and looking around the room.

"You, where is this place?" He asks immediately he notices me.

"You are in the hospital Ezra, you passed out, oh thank the gods you are okay" I breath, rushing to his bed side.

"It's good that you thank me, but child you have to stop with your nonsense, now, get me out of here, we have to talk"

He says and I frown.

"You can't leave Ezra, we have to monitor you, i have to put back those ivs you took out"

"You are doing no such thing Star, I have to get out of the body of this human" He says again, getting to his feet and taking steps towards a mirror.

"What are you saying Ezra? You are confusing me" I say and turns.

"Don't you understand yet, child? Your human is almost dead, it is I that is keeping him alive, I'm bored of this, get me out of here" He says and I blink, flabbergasted out of my mind.

"Ezra, did you hit your head somewhere? Tell me, how many fingers am I holding up?" I ask, raising my hand.

"Little girl, don't you know who I am?"

I'm updating again this evening, You will see.

I'm currently on the road, traveling a long distance.
