...................................

The following days Vuyanzi was confined inside the house. Her legs stopped shaking and the head aches were minimal. She was tired of lying around with nothing to do and had done some snooping around the bedroom. Koni’s bedroom was big, her bedroom probably fit in four times . It had a large walk in closet that held more clothes than Vuyanzi had ever seen in her life. Why did Koni need so much clothes? They mostly included of t-shirts, jeans, a few jackets, several pieces of suits and different assortment of shoes. It was neat and organized thanks to an old lady who supposedly was the housekeeper of the house. One time Vuyanzi had woken up to find her cleaning the room. She introduced herself as Ma. Anika, she was not from the area Vuyanzi could tell. Vuyanzi had been shy and wondered what the older lady would say about her cohabiting with a man but Ma. Anika didn’t ask questions. In fact Vuyanzi could count how many times the lady opened her mouth. She was the silent type.

Apart from the large inbuilt closet, there was a balcony with sliding doors. The view outside was breathtaking

. Vuyanzi had lived all her life near the reserve and she knew about the magnificence views yet the view from Koni’s balcony was as breathtaking every time she saw it. At the far horizon she could see the incredible hills of the reserve that housed some treacherous caves tourists were warned against exploring. Then there was the endless grasslands, she could see herds of buffalo most of the time. The balcony was on the first floor of the bungalow, the compound was maintained by a man Vuyanzi had come to conclude was deaf. Apart from waving at her whenever she stepped out in the balcony, he said nothing else. Vuyanzi had tried to engage him so many times but he only smiled and turned back to his work.

Vuyanzi had decided to venture out today, she couldn’t stay in the house anymore. She was not used to being waited on like the way Ma. Anika had been doing. It was really uncomfortable. She was used taking care of herself.  She was yet to explore the whole house. Koni had her confined in the bedroom. Every time she stepped outside the room he was on her already. Vuyanzi wondered how he always got to her so fast. Maybe Caro was right, Koni had rabbit ears.

After that morning she had woken up three days ago, Koni kept his distance. Apart sending her back to the bedroom every time she stepped out, he kept barking orders at her whenever she asked to be let out. He kept out of the room and didn’t approach her again like he did the first night. Vuyanzi had a feeling Koni came inside the room whenever she was asleep. If not for his alluring scent giving him away, it was the warm covers beside her or the sense of security that was attached to him. He was so strong that it seemed he could carry all her burdens. Vuyanzi had tried to stay awake as much as possible to catch him but she always failed. Why was she so lethargic? She thought it was the medicine that the doctor kept pushing her way.

Her only source of company was her grandmother who came in often and Caro. Vuyanzi found out she was looking forward to their visits every time they left. They brought her some clothes which Vuyanzi really appreciated, she was tired of moving around in Koni’s t-shirts no matter how comfortable they were. Caro was also source of news for her since her phone was lost that night. Vuyanzi cursed her lack that phone was old but it was still functional. Now she had to look for money to purchase a new one. Great.

Through Caro, Vuyanzi learned that Juma was released from the hospital. His injuries were not serious and he would get better soon. She thanked God for that. She wanted to go see him but Koni erupted every time she mentioned Juma’s name. Vuyanzi asked him if she was a prisoner and he denied. He insisted that she would help in their investigations. Vuyanzi thought it was all a cover up but for what? Was Caro right to say that Koni was sweet on Vuyanzi? Then why growl at her anytime she wanted to go out? Caro had suggested that Vuyanzi confront him but Vuyanzi didn’t know where to start and Koni was a threatening guy when he scowled which he did the more than a few times he was in her presence.

The bedroom opened and Koni came in, he paused at the bed and looked at Vuyanzi. Surprise registered in his voice, ‘’I thought you were asleep,’’ that confirmed her theory Mr. Jasiri only came near the room when she was asleep.

Vuyanzi sighed, how did he manage to remain so good looking every time she saw him? His long dreadlocks had been released and flowed on his wide shoulders and Vuyanzi marveled at their dark color, midnight dark. He had an old day stubble that would feel scratchy on her skin when he kissed her again. Where did that thought come from? Vuyanzi shook her head to clear her thoughts.

Clearing her throat,’ No Mr. Jasiri, I am wide awake. I was thinking,’’

‘’I will leave you to it then, if you need anything call me,’’ with that Koni turned to leave but Vuyanzi was not letting him go away that easily. She needed answers. Why was he so eager to leave her presence?

‘’Koni wait,’’ that stopped him on his tracks, he turned and looked at her, ‘’I have some questions for you,’’

Koni responded by folding his arms on his powerful chest drawing Vuyanzi’s eyes to his biceps Vuyanzi involuntarily licked her lips, what was it about this man that was so captivating? Koni turned faced her, his raised eyebrows told her to go on.

‘’First thank you for your hospitality but I would like to go back home,’’

‘’No,’’ Koni’s answer came out fast and firm, she wondered if he was going to consider.

‘’No, why?’’ Vuyanzi tried to keep her calm, why did he have to be so unreasonable.

‘’Your shoulder is not healed yet and I don’t want you to get attacked out here again,’’

‘’My shoulder is fine if I don’t move it,’’ Vuyanzi emphasized this by twisting her shoulder back only for her to flinch on the pain she felt, Koni was over her in seconds, how did such a huge man move so fast? His large warm hands on her naked arm sending chills down her spine. She gulped, now Koni would think that she was really sick.

‘’Take it easy, your shoulder was dislocated Amani,’’ Koni said slowly pushing her on the bed but Vuyanzi pushed his held his hands and looked deep into his brown mahogany eyes, willing him to listen at her.

‘’No am fine, I really have to go home Koni. I feel like a prisoner here,’’

‘’I can’t let you get attacked again Amani, and you are not a prisoner, I need you here,’’ Koni said softly squeezing her arms, now they were standing so close to each other that Vuyanzi could fell his warm breath on her face, she remembered how soft his lips were and shifted her eyes from his deep brown eyes to the soft lips. If only she inched her head towards his, she would be able to revive that feeling, a feeling she yearned for. Kiss him, kiss him, a voice in her head chanted. Koni’s hand moved to her back and snaked their way towards her neck in response she craned her neck to him, exposing it to him, breathing deeply. She looked at his eyes to see the color had changed from brown to the orange flame burning brightly. Yes.

Koni pulled her flush to his body that she could feel his hard body against her much softer mellow one. He nuzzled her neck with his lips and Vuyanzi purred like a cat. Her shaky hands held on to his biceps to stop her from collapsing down. Koni tortured her with small nips on her neck and throat, sounds were coming from her mouth that she could not believe she was making. Koni lowered her slowly on the bed, his lips didn’t stop the torturous trail on her neck.

Vuyanzi hit the bed softly and Koni covered her with his large body. He let out a groan and she moaned. Through the clothes she could still feel his warmth. She dragged her hands to his hair to redirect his mouth from her neck to her awaiting lips. The moment their lips touched Vuyanzi let out a murmur that was swallowed by Koni’s desperate lips. It was fervent and hot, she didn’t know where to start or begin. Vuyanzi was wiggling beneath him searching for something as he deepened his kisses, swirling his tongue around her and pushing his pelvic into her, in a rhythm that was leaving her brain mushy. Suddenly Vuyanzi wished they were cloth less.

Suddenly the door was open and Koni’s warm body was off her. Her head was reeling as she tried to recollect her thoughts. Koni was standing before her shielding her against the person who opened the door. Vuyanzi tried to straighten her clothes and sit upright on the bed.

‘’Mr. Jasiri sorry for intruding but the doctor is here,’’ Ma. Anika voice carried through the fog surrounding Vuyanzi head.

‘’It’s Okay Ma. Let her in,’’ Koni said after clearing his throat jamming his fists deep in his pockets. Vuyanzi was embarrassed and avoided Ma. Anika’s eyes. What would the woman think of her? She found her and Koni in a very compromising position. Ma. Anika only smiled and walked out. Locking the door silently behind. Leaving her and Koni alone again.

. Vuyanzi wondered what had come over her, why did she lose her wits whenever Koni was around. More so why did she enjoy his touches so much? Koni Jasiri was virtually a stranger to her. He was the reserve manager who supposedly saved her from an animal attack. He had claimed that a lion saved her but she did not believe that even for a second. Koni was hiding secrets, he was not telling her something. Why did she trust him? Deep in her heart, she enjoyed Koni’s attentions, she enjoyed his touch and kisses. She felt safe whenever he was around.

‘’Let’s talk about this later Amani,’’ he dropped a kiss on her head and stroked her cheek before walking out. Vuyanzi was touched by his sweetness. She only managed to nod her head and watched him walk out wondering why things were developing so fast between them.
