Crap crap crap! I still couldn’t get over that little stunt I had played this morning. How in God’s name was I able to do that? Well, for what it was worth, I enjoyed every bit of it even though I was as well scared out of my mind.

How I wished I could know what was actually going on his mind, I noticed he was amused kind of but he hid itz properly! God I hope I wasn’t being so stupid!

Ever since hours ago that it had happened, I just couldn’t stop thinking about everything…thn my mind drifted to Ben.

“Don’t worry Ben, I will never cheat on you, I’m just doing everything to make me come back to you.” I Said out loud.

“I’m sure he will understand.” Madam Koffi replied.

We were both at the attic, the only place we could talk freely.

“Tell me about Ben.” She said softly, while helping me to weave my hair into corn rows.

I smiled as my fiance’s cute face popped into my memory. “We met at Junoir High , we ‘ve been friends since then and I had this might crush on him right from Junoir High . Later he went to Georgia to study and came back, we met again, continued our friendship and voila! We just clicked. He didn’t ask me out and I didn’t ask him out either

. We just kissed and we started. It was like magic.”

“Wow! That must have been so beautiful.”

“Yes it was. I wish I can just find my ring though. It’s the only way I  feel as if he’s with me, he travels a lot and the ring gives me this warmth anytime I have it around my finger.”  I shut my eyes as I thought of how badly I missed him and how much he must be doing to find me.

“So your friends pushed you to asking a random guy out?”

I nodded. “They were quite harmless you know. It was just a stupid bet and thank God I had the ring with me, it saved my life!”

“You can go ask him, you know.”

“I can?”

“Yes. If you are going to be staying here for a while he would want to do everything to make you happy.”

“You are right. I will ask him, infact…” I said, standing up. “I’m going to ask him right now.”

Calvin was in his study having an online conference meeting with his investors…he looked angry as it seemed like his investors were not happy with him.

“Look Mr Calvin…” One of the white olderly men in suit on the screen started. “we think this has been going for too long and we are not happy about this. You go about threatening us on our money and we haven’t even seen you face to face, this is becoming quite uncomfortable for us. The last time I went to England to find you, I was told you died and now you want us to believe that people are after you and that is why you went to Africa to hide?”

Calvin rammed his hand against the table.

“Would you shut the hell up and let me explain myself?”

“No! We wouldn’t shut up. You have been doing the talking all along and its time you listen to us too!” Another man said and all of a sudden all the men were talking at once….

Calvin could feel his rage building gradually…he was losing control and if he loses control, his business would suffer…

“Mr Calvin, we are sorry, we are all going to pull out if….”

“Hello gentleman, please let’s all calm down shall we…”

Calvin was startled as he heard a voice in his study, it was the lady. What the hell was she doing here! He stood up angrily to address her but she quickly maneuvered her way to the screen, with some papers in her hands, so he had to step back so as not to lose his entire credibility in front of his investors, instead he pressed a button on his phone to summon the guards.

“I am so sorry gentlemen, I should have been here on time but my plane got delayed and trust me, everything I went to do were for your own good.”

The gentlemen exchanged glances. “Who the hell are you?”

Sonia smiled. “Oh, I am his P.A.

The guards came in but Calvin signaled to them to chill as he realized Sonia actually got the gentlemen’s attention.

“Exactly Miss Sonia, exactly our thoughts.” One of the men said again, as the others agreed with him.

“Well, it’s good that we are on the same page and believe me, Mr Calvin really has your interest in mind, he just sent me to organize a grand venue somewhere in South Africa for you folks…”

The men exchanged glances again as if they weren’t following….

“This doesn’t mean you all need to fly down here. I mean, we are all busy trying to make more money right?” She said with a laugh and the others laughed too, meanwhile, Calvin signaled to the guards to disperse.

“Well, I am sure if none of you is presently in Africa right now, you can always send a representative to confirm that Mr. Calvin is alive, he is healthy and he isn’t going anywhere, this way, you can be sure that the person that has been addressing you all the while is not an imposter.”

Calvin just as the men nodded their heads and later clapped.

“Good thoughts Mr. Calvin, really good plans. Why didn’t you say all these earlier?” Another man asked and everyone was looking at Calvin now. Sonia hoped he would go with the flow, after all, she just helped him save his business.

“Well, sorry about that gentlemen, the truth is, I was coming to that but you just weren’t listening and now I know that beautiful women always get the men’s attention.”

The men laughed and nodded. Sonia couldn’t believe Calvin just said  that, she chuckled slightly to herself.

‘Well, Mr. Calvin and our beautiful Sonia, we shall be hearing from you soon we hope.?”

“Yes  you shall, once we are through with the arrangement in the next few hours, we will send you the venue and the time. So, all you need to do is to come up with representatives.”

“Good talk Mr Calvin.”

“Thanks gentlemen.”

The men smiled at Sonia before Calvin put off the screen.

‘What the hell were you thinking?” He growled at her , deepening his eye brows.

“Wow! In case you hadn’t noticed, I just helped save your business.”

“I didn’t ask you to, did I, Sonia?” He demanded.

“I don’t know what your problem is….Calvin, but I do know that you need to come up with a party plan as soon as possible.”

“I could have handled that myself.” He said stubbornly.

“Obviously,  I saw you were doing a pretty good job yourself.” Sonia said with sarcasm. “By the way, saying ‘thank you’ wouldn’t hurt at all.”  As she was about to leave…

“Hey, I think this belongs to you.”

She looked back and in his hand was her ring, that softened her anger somehow and she caught it as he threw at her.

“You are welcome.” She said to him before leaving the room, she was gradually realizing that, this man has a problem of voicing out his emotions….well, she would be the one to force them out eventually.

Calvin sat down in his seat and let out an exasperated sigh. “Thank you Sonia, you just saved the work of a decade.”

He muttered to himself before reaching for his phone.
