The Curse Of Cain - Episode 16

CALVIN

It was a beautiful morning for some reason, perhaps, because of the sound sleep I had the previous night. It was like an antidote, all my nightmares just floated away and I needed more of that.

She had asked if she could go, well, she couldn’t and she hadn’t even told me her name. She must be really angry with me, I wanted to show my appreciation so I decided to have a grand meal for her. I wasn’t sure if she was a big eater but at least I asked the cooks to prepare few African dishes for her and the long table was filled with plates of chicken, beef, pork, some rounded stuffs, vegetables and some other funny looking dishes.

I waited for her arrival; I was hoping she would be impressed and probably stop asking about her freedom, I needed to make her feel comfortable here until she falls for me….therefore I was ready to keep doing all she wanted…for now.

The elevator dinged and I knew she was here, so I focused on my meal as if I hadn’t spotted her…

When I got in, I was surprised at what I saw.

. Dear Lord, was that pounded yam and my favourite Edika Ikong soup, God of heaven! Amala and Efo riro(Vegetable soup), as I got closer to my seat I caught the aroma of the pile of goat meats in the other plate, my mouth watered. What the hell was happening around here! Please God, don’t let today be the day I will be slaughtered, at least, lemme take a bite out of all these foods first!

I kept eyeing the served plates as I took my seat restlessly but I had to caution myself, Madam Kofi had said to act stubborn and not easily impressed, he said that would be a great turn on for him to want to work harder. Acting all stubborn infront of this Mount Kilimanjaro foods just wasn’t really my thing-the problem was that I actually loved food, my friend knew that food was my weakness, especially the African dishes so how on earth would I not betray myself in front of this pounded yam!

CALVIN

I watched her in interest as she kept staring at the food in front of her while I ate my Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding.

I almost burst into laughter as she was caught in a dilemma as if battling whether to ask me something while holding herself back from devouring them one by one.

“Urm….what are all these please? AM I safe? Is there a party?” She asked, watching me as if I was going crazy.

“No lady, this is a way of thanking you for such a beautiful sleep last night and for not hating me for sleeping off on your shoulders.”

“So, all these are for me?” She asked wide-eyed.

“Yes, please, eat as much as you can.” I replied, amused at her state of panic.

She kept staring at the dishes in shock and then looked at me.

“Is this a way of telling me I am not going back home?”

I smiled at her confidence. “ Yes, is it working?” I asked, leaning forward.

For a while, she did nothing but was just looking at the foods and then at me.

“Well, we shall see.”

I watched as she first of all devoured the whitish molded pudding and some funny looking sauces. Then she took a bite off of the rest of the foods. I have never seen anyone eat the way she had eaten,  she hadn’t used any of the cutlery, instead she used her hand! Holy Moly! What kind of savage was she?

She kept giving off hmm--ing hmming sounds,  closing her eyes as she took each bite and I knew I had definitely impressed her.

I watched her wash her hands carefully, then wiped her hands against the napkin…there were still lots she hadn’t eaten but she had definitely tried.

“So, are we good?” I finally asked , feeling like I have definitely caught a score with her.

She stood up slowly…pushing back her seat.

“That was a trial, who do you think I am? Esau that will sell my birthright because of some food!” She scoffed, rolling her eyes sideways….then she walked close to me, pushing her chest forward and swerving seductively to my side….

She bent slowly to reach my ear, the pendant on her neck was hanging low, pointing directly to the opened cleavages due to her posture…. and for the first time my heart did a double flip...

She whispered to my ear….

“You are not even close, if you are trying to impress me, you should try harder, I am not  easy impressed Sir” Then she stood up, straightened herself and walked same way into the elevator.

I sat still in my seat, unable to move or think.

What the hell just happened. She just flashed me her cleavages just now and my heart ceased. What kind of game was she playing with me?

What happened to that girl that was so scared of me earlier? Where did she get this confidence she was displaying.

I loosened the tie around my neck as I felt hot all of a sudden. How dare she challenged me!

I smiled...I kept smiling.....well, if she wants to play a game, we can both play it together!

OKAY, SO WE NEED A REFREE FOR THIS GAME WHO WILL BE COUNTING THE SCORES...ANY VOLUNTEER? God! I love this episode!
