Uthman has been worried about Summayah, her pregnancy is taking a toll on her health and she is not willing to go to the hospital for check-ups. He promised himself to take her there even if he had to force her. As he made his way downstairs, he went straight to her room and knocked on the door, Azeezah gave him the permission to come in. 

Uthman:Salam Alaikum Warahmotulah Wabarakatuh.

Azeezah:Walaykum warahmotulah wabarakatuh. 

Uthman:How are you? 

Azeezah:I am good. 

Uthman:How is Summayah doing? 

Azeezah:Fine.

uthman:Did she complain about anything to you? 

Azeezah:Hmm, no. It's just that she has trouble sleeping in the night . Other than that, she is perfectly fine. 

Uthman:Okay, i will have to go to the hospital right now. I will take her to the hospital on Monday.

Azeezah:Summayah wouldn't want to go. 

Uthman:I will bundle her there if i have to. 

(Summayah who has been listening all along laughed at him.)

Summayah:Really? I won't want to go there even if you kidnap me from here. I am fine now, i hate the smell, injections.

Uthman:I don't know when that babish character in you will disappear. Your baby needs a lot of care and monitoring at this stage which can only be done at the hospital

. I can't afford to make any mistakes this time, i will be taking you to the hospital on Monday. Just few days to your delivery and you have to spend your remaining days there till we are sure everything is alright.

Uthman:Good girl. I have to go now, i have a lot of patient to attend to. 

Summayah:Alright. Can you get corn and crab on your way back home? 

Uthman:I can. I will go to the market after my work is done.

Uthman:Okay.

Summayah:You shouldn't forget ooo. I will call you with an hour interval so that you will not forget.

(Summayah smiled watching him exit her room, Azeezah looked at her with amazement.)

Azeezah:Summayah,who is he to you? 

Summayah:Like a brother and a friend. 

Azeezah:What about a husband? 

Summayah:What? Husband? No. He isn't. 

Azeezah:it's obvious you like the doctor, you are somehow energetic when you talk to me. Like all your pains has flew away, didn't you see how you were smiling just now. Remember, he also told you that he is the father and would take responsibility. 
He scold you if you didn't take your drugs or ear your food. 

Summayah:Az, i guess you are mistaken his care for me. Brother Uthman is only helping..

(She sat up and slipped her legs into the slippers. Azeezah helped her into the wheelchair and they went into the kitchen.Hadiza wasn't seen in the kitchen, AZ decided to start the cooking while Summayah watched her. Summayah laughed as Azeezah's hand touched the boul of cracked eggs which made contact with her face. Azeezah decided to spill the remaining liquid on her, Summayah made a move to run but she fell on her stomach. Az moved closer to her, she helped her sit on the floor while she groaned in pain.) 

Azeezah:I am so sorry. Are you okay? Tell me where it hurts? Should i called the doctor? 

Summayah:I am fine, you know i hate the smell of egg. It makes me feel nauseous.(She covered her hands with her mouth motioning her to move away.) 

Azeezah:I am sorry. That's why i never want to bring you in here, you even fell. 

Summayah:You did it intentionally so that i can leave right? (Tears threatened to fall from her eyes) You didn't want me here, i cause a lot of trouble. 

Azeezah:Subhanallah, pregnancy hormones are back. I promise, it's not like that. 

Summayah:Just take me back to my room, i don't want to talk to you at all. 

Azeezah:I am sorry if i have hurt you. 

Summayah:(The smell hit her nostrils and she quickly closed her mouth and covering her nose. She gestured towards her wheelchair and Az understood immediately. She placed her on the chair and went back to her room, she went straight to the toilet and emptied her stomach. Avoiding another nauseous, Az quickly changed her clothes and went back to the bathroom to help her lie down. Summayah sobbed quietly and didn't want to talk to Az.)

Azeezah:Summayah, i promise it was unintentional. You know it's not like that. I... 

(Summayah's phone rang and she quickly picked it.)

Uthman:Summayah.

Summayah:Hello Uth.

Uthman:What happened? Are you okay? 

Summayah:Az didn't want me to stay with her in the kitchen. .

Uthman:She doesn't want you to get hurt. 

Summayah:I am already hurt. I just want to be out of my room. 

Uthman:I promise to take you out tomorrow. 

Summayah:Not to the hospital right? That is the only place you take me to.

Uthman:No, there are other places to go to. Just forgive her, i know she didn't mean to. 

Summayah:Okay. 

Uthman:You are a good girl. So i wanted to ask if you need any other thing.

Summayah:Yes, i want jollof rice and chicken, ice-cream, pop corn,fried fish but the most important thing is crab and corn. Anything that can be eaten by me, buy it. I will eat everything all by myself. 

Uthman:Okay bye. 

Summayah:Bye Uth. 

(She ended the call and saw a face glaring at her.) 

Azeezah:I told you there is something that beats extraordinarily when you talk to him which is your heart. You forgot everything when talking to him.

Summayah:You are still talking nonsense when i have not forgiven you for what you did. 

Azeezah:I am sorry. (She touched her belly) I hope you are not feeling any discomfort? 

Summayah:I am not. You have to take a bath because you still smell of egg. 

Azeezah:Okay. I will do that when i am done in the kitchen. Bye. 

(She left her alone while Summayah dozed off.)

(Summayah's stomach was beginning to hurt two hours after her fall. She groaned in her sleep, clutching her stomach on the bed. She heard some screaming very close to her room, thinking it was her own imagination. She woke up when she heard the voice the second time and she could recognize the voice, it was Azeezah and Fadilah's voice. Before she could sit up,the door was opened and she saw the face she dread to see.)

Summayah:Why...why... 

Jennifer:Are you not pleased to see me? 

Summayah:Where is Azeezah and fadilah. I hope you didn't hurt them? How did you get here?

Jennifer:I am yet to hurt them and it also depends on you. 

Summayah:Why are you into my life once again. I already gave you what you wanted. 

Jennifer:You gave me and you are about to take it back from me. 

Summayah:I...swear by Allah, i...didn't...go back to Jamiu. 

Jennifer:You didn't but your pregnancy will bring you back together. 

Summayah:What...are...you...saying?

Jennifer:(Three of her men came in and Summayah was agitated.) Jamiu is the father of your dumb child. 

Summayah:You...are...lying. You... 

Jennifer:I am not. He is the father of your baby. 

Summayah:(She placed her hands on her ear) Please, stop saying that. He is not the father of my unborn child. He can never be the one.

Jennifer:(She moved closer to her with a resounding slap, she held her chin while she bled) Jamiu is the father, tell me why you like snatching away my precious things away from me. Why did you even sleep with my man.

(What Jennifer told her weakened her soul and she felt numb. The person she trusted as a muslimah did so much harm to her. The pain she felt after her contractions came with full force was immeasurable, it was worse than a menstral cramps. Jennifer:Are you listening to me? 

Summayah:Please just spare me this time, i won't come back to your life. I will go somewhere far away from the both of you. Spare my family out of this trouble. 

Jennifer:I am still going to strip you off your remaining pride. You have to crawl in front of me helplessly. You have to die, you will always be an obstacle in my path if you stay alive. My jamiu will come back to you and i will be the loser. 

Summayah:Just think about my child, please. Have mercy. 

Jennifer:(She turned to the guy beside her) Bring that little girl right now. (The guy held a sharp knife which scared Summayah as he moved out.) 

Summayah:Fadilah has nothing to do with this.Just punish me, do whatever you want but spare my little girl. She is innocent. 

Jennifer:I see you have won their hearts in this house too and that is one of the reasons i despise you. Everyone loves you unconditionally. 

Summayah:Let me go this one time, i promise to walk far away from everyone. I promise you that i will not disturb your love life.

(The guy brought her in into the room, Summayah looked at how shaken Fadilah's was. She was the cause of their troubles.)

Fadilah:Mummy.

Summayah:She is innocent.(She cried) 

Jennifer:I just want you to see her for the last time. 

Summayah:What...are...you...talking...about. 

Jennifer:You will get to know. 

(The guy released his grip on Fadilah,she quickly ran towards Summayah. Jennifer left the room with the guys, Fadilah wiped her tears.) 

Fadilah:Why are you crying? Is my sister okay in there? (She placed her head on her stomach, Summayah's contraction hit her again and she let out a cry. She held on to the bedspread allowing the pain in.) Are you okay? Is the baby coming? 

Summayah:I am in so much pain right now. I don't know if my baby is alright. 

Fadilah:I will call papa right now. He will surely come and help us out from this wicked aunty. (She picked up Summayah's phone at the bed side, dialled his number but he wasn't picking any of her calls.) 

(Jennifer walked in and laughed at the both of them) 

Jennifer:(She touched Fadilah's face) Hey baby girl, your father wouldn't pick your calls because i have put him in a big dilemma. He doesn't have your time right now and i am sure he is in the police custody as we speak. 

Summayah:(She couldn't control her anger anymore.)Tell me what you did to Uthman right now! It is better you don't try to hurt him in any way or else... 

Jennifer:Or else what? Tell me. (She pushed her on the head) Tell me what you want to do to me with that small coconut head of yours.

Summayah:You better stay away from Uthman and his family. You can face me if you want. 

Jennifer:Wow, i can see the love. Tell me something, has he been sleeping with you? I heard pregnant women love... 

Summayah:Do you realise there is a little girl in the room? 

Jennifer:The little girl will be used for experiment very soon.

Summayah:(She swallowed the lump in her throat)What...are...you...trying to do. Just tell me! Don't hurt Fadilah in anyway. 

Jennifer:I will and it will be in your presence. (She smirked and faced her men) 
Guys, lay her on the floor. 

Fadilah:Mother, tell them to let me go. They are hurting me. 

Summayah:No,No. I can't let her go through the pain i went through. She is my benefactor's daughter. He gave his daughter to me as an Amanah, how could i allow her go through the slightest pain. They loved me unconditionally, i have to keep my family alive. I have to. 

(She heard her voice, the excruciating pain surge into her stomach and she cried out.) 

Fadilah:Mother, they are hurting me. 

Summayah:Let her go, i will take any punishment. Free my baby, please. (She held her hand and Jennifer jerked her hands off her.) 

Jennifer:Will you take the punishment of four sisters with your own? 

Summayah:Y...Yes. I will. 

(Summayah knew she was in trouble, her legs have betrayed her today. If she was able to walk then she would have tried her best to fight Jennifer but she was helpless. She has always been the helpless one.)

Jennifer:Good...Be ready to die. Guys, tie the girl to that wheelchair, blindfold her and make sure she doesn't make any noise. 

Summayah:Let her go, i don't want her to experience any pain. 

Jennifer:Keep shut, don't let me change my mind.

(Summayah watched as they tied Fadilah to the chair, her heart wept bitterly. She regret the day she set her eyes on Jamiu, every second of the time spent together. They forced her into the marriage but she had to face every thing all alone. Jennifer told her to lie down and she did as she was instructed.)

Jennifer:(She instructed the guys) Hold her legs and hands. I thought you were bragging that Jamiu is the only one that has slept with you. I will make sure all the guys in this house right now take their rights from you and you will surely breath your last breath on this act. I will make sure you die. 

Summayah:I am...not...scared of death, you are not the one to tell me when my last breath will be.If it was by your power, i would have died a long time ago. But Allah is the One in whose my life is with not you. Not this guys here.Tell me what right they have! Say it! 

Jennifer:For now, your life in my hands. I decide what happens to you today. Bye girl. 

(Tears cascaded from her eyes as she struggled with the guys with her contractions not helping her in anyway other than to give her pain. Even her body has adapted to the pain, her body has been pinned to the bed. She felt trapped and all she could do was lie down helplessly with no hope of rescue.)
