Dr. Usman decided to check on Summayah In the ward she got admitted to, thousands of questions kept running In his head wondering how Summayah ended up being In his hospital. He could remember vividly that she was the lady he met at the hotel wearing a skimpy dress with an uncomfortable face.   

Uthman: What was she doing In the hotel that very day? could It have been that she was forced  by a pimp? Is she into prostitution for a living? (He sighed heavily, walking into the ward. He found her laying half awake on the bed, he moved closer to her wanting to place his setoscope on her chest In other to check her heartbeat)

Summayah: Who . . . are you! Let go of me! (She gave out a loud yelp) 

Usman: Calm down young lady, (He tried to calm her down) 

Summayah: You will hurt me like they did! Go away from me or I . . . will scream, (she managed to  breathe properly, trembling In terror as she kept hearing a whispering voice) 

Usman: I won't hurt you, I mean no harm. (He tried to control her)

Summayah: Jamiu!!!Let go of me (she forgot she couldn't walk and due to the struggle and fear she had__she fell down from the bed, causing the drip that was fixed to her wrist cut off. She held her head tightly as she kept screaming Jamiu's name) Jamiu let me go! (It was then Usman realised she was hallucinating, he quickly held her hand softly In other for her not to destroy things or do anything harmful to herself) 

Summayah: Ahhhhh!!!!! (She screamed loudly, the nurses rushed into the ward with their mouth staying agape) 

Nurse Habiba: Get the treatment tray quickly! (She said to the second nurse) 

Nurse Khair: Right away, (she replied, running quickly from the ward)

Uthman:You are already hurt, please let me treat your wounds. 

Summayah:Just go away from me

. Leave me alone,jamiu please leave. (She shouted) I promise to stay away from you and mother. 

Uthman:Listen to me, you are at the hospital and I'm uthman not jamiu. 

Summayah:Don't kill me, I'm innocent. Jamiu, i promise to leave and never come back to you. Don't force yourself on me again. (She was shaking vigorously)

Uthman:Just believe me, I'm here to help you. Just raise your head to see if i am the jamiu or not. Let me treat your hands, please.

Nurse khair came in with the treatments, Uthman signalled her to drop the tray and leave with the other nurse who was standing there watching Summayah. After they had left, he turned to Summayah only to see her still terrified. 

Uthman:I don't know what you are going through right now but you can only help yourself if you just pour it out.You have to calm down, please. 

Summayah:I don't... want to... stay... here, my... my... child is... in... here. He... wants... to live... too, please don't harm my child (She touched her stomach protectively.)

Uthman:Listen,i also have a daughter at home__why will i harm your unborn child when i don't want anyone to lay their hands on mine. Just trust me and look at me to see if i can hurt you or not. 

Summayah:(She calmed herself and looked up, trying to recollect his face.) You are?

Uthman:The man you met at the hotel.

Summayah:That...doctor? 

Uthman:Yes. (He moved closer to her.)Yes, i am that doctor. Remember me now? 

Summayah:How...how...did...you...you... 

Uthman:It's okay, you have to rest and then we can talk when you are much better.

Summayah:How is my baby doing, i hope he or she is okay. 

Uthman:Alhamdulilah but the ball is in your court. If you allow me to treat you and get better then your baby will be very healthy. 

Summayah:I still don't want to stay here, they will find me then kill me. 

Uthman:Who wants to kill you? 

Summayah:She wants me dead! She... will...kill...me. (She was feeling uneasy and scared) She... (He cut her off) 

Uthman:Just calm down miss, this is an hospital. Nobody dares to come here and harm you. 

Summayah:No...no...she can be here anytime. 

Uthman:Remember your Lord miss, He will protect you. If it not destined they will kill you then nobody has the power to kill you.

Summayah:(She looked at him and realized he was saying the truth.)

Uthman:In sha Allah, you will be alright. (He bandaged her bleeding wrist.) I'm done,i hope you didn't hurt yourself.

Summayah:I am alright. 

Uthman:(He smiled at her) You have to stop worrying, all you need is a good rest. Can i? 

Summayah:What?

Uthman:Can i carry since you can't... 

Summayah:There is no need for that, i can stand on my own. (She tried to stand up forgetting she is paralyzed, after a while not been able to move her legs__ it dawned on her that she wouldn't be able to walk again.) I...can't...move...my...legs. 

Uthman:I was told you can't feel your legs. 

Summayah:I will not be able to walk again, i will not be able to walk all by myself (She burst out in tears and repeated the sentence so many times.) 

Uthman:That's not true, you can still walk. Just co-operate with me and we would find a solution to it. Allah has a better plan for you, don't wallow in the past__look at the bright future ahead of you. We are going to be faced with a lot of trials in life, we either stay in a spot or move forward to stand up,it depends on how we let it affect our lives. Remember, everything is a lesson for us. 

Summayah:(She nods her head)Thank you for helping me yesterday, i would have died if Allah hasn't sent you to me. 

Uthman:You don't have to thank me, all thanks has to go to Allah(His lips curved into a little smile) 

Summayah: Allah Hafiz(she said to him with an emotionless face which Uthman noticed)

Uthman:What do you want to eat, i will tell a nurse to bring it to you...

Summayah:I am not hungry. 

Uthman:You have to eat before taking any medication. 

Summayah:I don't have any appetite and what if i feel nauseous, i won't be able to run to the toilet myself. It will be a mess here and i can't give the cleaners so much work to do. It will be so disgusting for them, it's not so easy. I don't have any money to buy food. (She kept on talking and uthman just looked at how innocent she is.) 

Uthman:(He bent down to her level) You shouldn't worry about that, remember you are not the only one sitting on the floor. There is a child developing in you, always remember that. I admire your sense of humor, you think about others. 

Summayah:(She nodded) 

Uthman:So what do you want to eat...Tea or... 

Summayah:I will drink tea then. 

Uthman:With bread? 

Summayah:Okay.

Uthman:Your name? 

Summayah:My name is Summayah.

Uthman:Nice name, my name is uthman.I know you are not comfortable with me treating you, i will get a female doctor who will give you the necessary treatment. It is best for a female to be treated by a female unless there is a need for it. Don't be scared okay? 

Summayah:Hmmm.

Uthman:The nurses will be here to help you lie on the bed. Make sure you eat your food when she brings it in. 

Summayah:Okay sir. 

Uthman:Just call me by my name.

Summayah:I can't do that, you are older than me. 

Uthman:Haha, you make me look like an old man. 

Summayah:I didn't mean it like that. 

Uthman:It's okay, i was only joking with you.(He noticed the discomfort on her face when she tried to move.) Are you having any body aches?

Summayah:No,i don't. 

Uthman:Just tell me whenever you have any complaints. 

Summayah:Actually, i like it here than lying on the bed. I have been in that position for a long time and it's tiring. (Remembering how she has been lying in bed for more than a week.) 

Uthman:What do you mean for a long time? 

Summayah:No...Nothing.

Uthman:(He didn't want to go further)We would talk about everything when you are more relaxed.See you soon, in sha Allah. (He left to examine other patients.)

Summayah:Thank you.

Jennifer called Mrs Aminat about Summayah.Dissapointed that her plan failed and she couldn't kill her. She called her so many times but she didn't pick up. 

Jennifer:Why did she have to ignore her calls when she needed to speak to her.(She was about to throw her phone when it rang, she picked the call almost immediately.)Mother. 

Mrs Aminat:Yes, i am so busy with my customers.We can talk when i get back home. 

Jennifer:This is very important, Summayah ran away from home with your jewelry box and money. 

Mrs Aminat:What!How did you let her go.

Jennifer:She must have gone when i went into my room. I told you she was only pretending about being ill, but you refused to believe me 

Mrs Aminat:I will be home very soon. 

Jennifer:Okay,i will be expecting you. (She ended the call, pacing around the house. Her phone beeped indicating she had a message, she opened her inbox. The message was sent by one of  the guys that help with her evil jobs.) 

"Summayah is at liberty hospital." She read it out loud. 

Jennifer:I have to kill her today. 

Getting to the hospital, asked the receptionist for her ward and directed her to the ward, she went straight to her ward. She entered and tried strangling her. Summayah was struggling to breathe.

Summayah:I didn't steal her jewelry box or money. I only took my necklace and ring. Jennifer...let...go...off...me. 

Doctor Maryam:Something is wrong with her. Wake up, it's only a dream. 

Summayah:Let me go...You are hurting me.
(She shouted in her sleep)Why are you trying to kill me...

Doctor Maryam:You have to wake up ma'am. This is an hospital. 

Summayah:(She opened her eye) Jennifer is here, she is here. She wants to kill me, she is...

Doctor Maryam:Nobody is here to kill you. 

Summayah:She must be hiding somewhere, trust me. She... She...wants...to...kill...me. This is Liberty hospital right? 

Doctor Maryam:You are mistaken, this is Crystal Hospital. You are only dreaming. 

Summayah:(She looked at the lady behind the doctor, it was the nurse who looked after her in the morning)

Doctor Maryam:I am the doctor that will be treating you from now on. I am Dr Maryam(She stretched out her hand and Summayah hid her hands) I ain't going to bite you... Well, Doctor Uthman gave me the opportunity to look at your case and ensure you are okay. We can actually be friends too,you know.Right now, all we have to do is put you on the bed so that you can lie down comfortably. We brought breakfast for you too. 

(She was placed gently on the bed, her fear has taken a toll on her. She couldn't stay put in a place.Her hands were shaking,Dr Maryam pulled her into her arms__trying to soothe her mind. She hugged her and patted her back gently.)

Dr Maryam:Nobody is going to hurt you, stay calm sister. You are going to be alright by His grace. This phase is going to be gone very soon. Do not decipher, Indeed your Lord knows best__He has knowledge of everything and He never make mistakes.Everything is for the best, hold on to your faith. 

Summayah:(She has calm down a little and more composed)I know sis, i have gone crazy. I can't stop this nightmare, I'm scared they will all come back to kill me. They want to kill my child too. 

Dr Maryam:You are not crazy, you are only scared and those thoughts will be your fear. Think positively sis, Allah will strengthen you. Nobody will harm you, Dr Uthman will not allow that to happen to you. 

Summayah:Thank you. 

Dr Maryam:Now you have to drink your tea before it gets cold. 

Summayah:(Remembering her ring and necklace she pulled out of her embrace)Where is he. 

Dr Maryam:He is busy right now. 

Summayah:I need to ask if he has my ring and necklace. It is the only possession i have, he gifted it to me on our wedding day. I can't afford to lose it, he is going to be upset with me. 

Dr Maryam:Nurse,you can leave right now. (The nurse left and she turned back to her) You are married? 

Summayah:Yes...

Dr Maryam:To? Dr Uthman? (She was shocked, she couldn't bear to hear Summayah was uthman's wife) 

Summayah:No...

Dr Maryam:Ohh...So how did you cross path with him. He rarely talks to anyone except his mother and daughter since his wife's death. A part of him died that day, at least that was what i heard. 

Summayah:How we met isn't something i can proudly talk about. It's so shameful sis. 

Dr Maryam:Allah listen, turn back to Him and ask for forgiveness. He is the most merciful. 

Summayah:Jazakillah khair. 

Dr Maryam:Wa ʾantum fa-jazākumu-llāhu khayran. Now let me feed you sis. 

(Taking a spoonful of tea, she opened her mouth. She made sure she finished her food before any medication. Summayah was happy for that few minutes, she has found people who will not pester or question her about her pregnancy. She still feared one thing and that was "change". What if they change like her parents, her husband and mother-in-law had changed in a twinkle of an eye. They didn't for once look at the good in her, they only choose to believe everything that only Allah (S.W.T) has knowledge of. She was ready for that change and she isn't willing to depend on anyone to live or depend on anyone for her happiness.)
