(Uthman was glued to his position, he wondered what made his mum so upset. He knew he was wrong for not informing her about their new guest, but she has never shown this side of hers to him before.)

Uthman: Uhmm, she is our...new...guest.

Hadiza: What guest? Tell me right now. Did i tell you i need another person to join us, you didn't deem it fit to inform me. (She shouted) 

Summayah: I...am...so...sorry...ma'am for making you angry . I don't to upset you further. (She faced uthman) Thank you for everything but i would like to leave, please. 

Uthman: Where will you go to, it is late already. 

Summayah:You don't have to worry about that. 

Uthman: Mother, let her stay for the night. It is dangerous out there. 

Hadiza: You are refusing me? Leave. Right. Now. I mean this moment, i don't care where she stays this night. 

Uthman: I don't believe this is my mum, this isn't you at all. We would leave then.

(Summayah couldn't decipher what and why it was happening.)

Summayah: Brother uthman, we...are...not...leaving.

Hadiza: What did you say? 

Summayah: I will be the only one to leave from here.

Uthman:But...

Summayah: (She wiped her tears) You don't have to worry about anything, i will be fine. May Allah reward you for everything

. (She turned to leave but seeing Iman burst out laughing made her confused.)

Uthman: (He was so upset seeing him laugh) Why are you laughing, it looks like a joke to you. (He only heard more laughter coming from his mother, Maryam and his daughter.)

Iman: Bro uthman, it was just to pull your legs. We planned all together this afternoon when i told mother about Summayah.

Uthman: (He spanked his head) How could you? Mother, you too? You did all that to scare us? 

Hadiza: Off course. I did everything.

Uthman: I thought something was wrong because mother would never do this to anyone. (He glared at Maryam and Fadilah) So where have you been all this time?.

(Maryam and Fatilah chorused together)

We have been hiding at the back of the pillar watching the drama unfold. 

Fadilah: Papa, grandma scared you and you looked like a child.(She laughed) 

Uthman: Well, i am still a child to my mother. 

Fadilah: What about me? 

Uthman: You are my baby. 

(Hadiza noticed Summayah wiping her tears, still shocked from the conversation they had a while ago.She moved closer to her and held her hands.) 

Hadiza: You are Summayah right? 

Summayah: Y...Yes. 

Hadiza: You don't have to be scared my child. What i displayed the other time was just an act. I just had to teach my naughty grown up boy a lesson for not informing me about our new guest. You are highly welcome to your new home. (She smiled at her.) 

Uthman: Mama, i am not a grown up boy but a "man".

Hadiza: That statement is for you not me. Just keep mute, will you allow me take care of her or you are just going to let her stay here when she must be tired.

Uthman: Maryam, go and arrange the rest room. You know she can't take the room upstairs because of the state she is. 

Hadiza: We have done everything necessary.We would have done everything in haste if we weren't told. 

Summayah: Jazakillah khair Auntie. 

Hadiza: Wa antum fajazakumullahu khaeran dear. Just call me mother, are you okay with that? I consider you to be my second youngest daughter. Feel free and we can talk, gist about anything. Don't think about the age, i love to talk with my children, okay? 

Summayah: (She wondered what planet she was in, maybe she was only dreaming  and soon enough, she would wake up to reality.) Are this people humans like the ones she met all her life. 

Hadiza: Summayah!

Summayah: Ma.

Hadiza: Are you okay? 

Summayah: Yes, ma'am. Thank you mother, i will stay here as a good daughter and friend to all of you. 

Hadiza: Welcome to our house baby girl. (She turned to face Maryam) I will be taking her to her room, go get her food and bring it in. 

Summayah: There is no need for that, i am actually full right now. I don't want anything.

Uthman: Shush Summayah, you just like to skip your meals. Maryam, get the food right now. 

Summayah: Please...

Uthman: Don't beg me, you have to use your medications. You have to eat before any use of drugs. 

Summayah: Yes.  

Uthman: Better, why didn't you switch on all the light. You want me to trip and fall? You know i don't like it when we can't even see ourselves clearly.

Hadiza: I love it like this but i have to please you anyways. Maryam, switch on the lights for him. I don't know if it is old age that is doing this guy over here. 

Uthman: Mama, why now. 

(Maryam switched on all the lights giving hadiza a clear view of Summayah. She tried to remember if she has seen her face before since it was so familiar.)

Hadiza: We have met somewhere.

Summayah: I don't so. 

Hadiza: (Recollecting where and how she knew her.) Ehnehn, i told you we have met before today. 

Summayah: I have not seen your face before. 

Hadiza: You remembered the bus from Sokoto to Abuja? Where we all alighted when it broke down on the highway and how you told a woman to sit in the other bus we happen to get since i was the only one remaining there? Are  you not the girl that gave up her seat for me? 

Summayah: It...was...you? How...did...you...recognize...me...when...it...was...dark...that...day. 

Hadiza: I have seen you when we all boarded the bus, recognizing you now is not a problem. The only difference is that you look pale and unhappy than the last four months. Did you later get to your destination safely? 

Summayah: Yes...i...did. 

Uthman: What a small world we live in, mother told me about you when she was back to sokoto.

Summayah: Really?

Uthman: Yes.

Summayah: It was just a normal thing to do. 

Uthman: You did a very good thing, May Allah reward you for that, Amin. 

Hadiza: I am happy Allah gave me such an adorable and humble daughter today. 

Summayah: I am so glad to see you again...Mo...Mother. 

Hadiza:You shouldn't hesitate to call me mother.

Summayah: Okay mother. 

Hadiza: Good. 

Fadilah: All of you have forgotten about your little girl here, it is unfair. 

Uthman: Sorry my darling baby girl. Let's leave them with their own little talk. (He picks her up before introducing her to Summayah) Summayah meet Fadilah, my daughter. Fadilah meet Summayah, your new sister. 

Summayah: Nice meeting you dear. 

Fadilah: Nice meeting you too sister Summayah. Now that i have you, sister Maryam will be ignored because she does that to me everytime. We can play games together right? 

Summayah: Firstly, i think she has so much to do_you know she can't do that to you intentionally.You should thank her for taking care of you all the time. Secondly, we can play games together. 

Fadilah: Yay.

Uthman: Goodnight Summayah.

Fadilah: We would talk about everything tomorrow, in sha Allah. 

Summayah: In sha Allah dear, goodnight to you too.

(Iman carried her bags to her room before Summayah was carefully placed on the bed. Maryam dished her food and gave it to Hadiza. Making sure she finished all the food, then tucked her in bed.) 

Summayah: Thank you mother. 

Hadiza: There is no thank you here, just rest. You have had a long day, it is not good for your baby too. Isn't that the responsibility of a mother? To take good care of her child irrespective of the bond they share from the start. 

Summayah: Very true. 

Hadiza: I am taking care of you, just take care of your child too. Remember, no stress at all. You need anything, call me or Maryam_that is why we are all here for you. 

Summayah: Yes, mummy.

Hadiza: Should i massage your hair, it will make you feel relieved.

Summayah: I don't mind. 

Hadiza: I will be right back.

Summayah: (She couldn't stop thanking Allah for blessing her with this beautiful souls.) Indeed, After hardship comes ease. Allah wants me to leave there to meet this new family. His plans are always perfect and that is why we have to place our trust in Him. He is the one who takes hardship away when we think we don't have a way out, He makes a way where we least expect it. 

Hadiza: Yes, He does my child. 

Summayah: I didn't know i was thinking out loud. 

Hadiza: All your troubles are over now, in sha Allah. 

Summayah: Amin.

(Hadiza placed her head on her lap, she began to massage her head till summayah was fast asleep. She prayed and kissed her forehead before switching off the light.She went straight to Maryam who was still doing the cleaning of the kitchen.)

Hadiza: Maryam, i will be staying with Summayah in her room incase she needs  anything in the middle of the night. You know she can't walk and i don't want her to injure herself at all. 

Maryam: I understand mama, you are the best momma in the world. 

Hadiza: Hmm,thank you. 

Maryam: You can go, i will take care of this here. 

Hadiza: Make sure you go to sleep after cleaning and your adhkhar too. Do. Not. Forget. 

Maryam: Yes mama. 

(She quietly close the door behind her, seeing her sleep peacefully gave her tranquility.)

Hadiza: May you find us all as a source of peace to you. Ameen. 

Summayah: (She said in whisper) Amin.

Hadiza: Goodnight baby. 

(She said her prayers before sleeping off hoping to see a new day filled with happiness in their lives.)
