“Next week we are renewing our vows.” Will said.
They were sitting across me holding hands, the distance that once settled between them sealed off with body contact.
“You are?”
Jenny nodded.
“That’s a welcome surprise, am happy for both of you.”
“All of this could not have been possible if it were not for you doctor.” Will said.
“We are grateful.” Jenny added.
“Am happy to help where I can.”
“We would like for you to be there.”
“Me?”
“Yes you, we would be honored.”
“Then who am I to say no, I will try to make some time.”
“Thanks so much doctor.”
“Don’t mention it.”
An hour later
I stared at the parcel on the passenger seat of my car. It was labeled urgent. It was a parcel addressed to Uriel delivered to our home address . I had tried getting him on phone to no avail. I was now going to hand deliver it to his office. Part of the reason I was feeling this generous was because I wanted to see him but I had too much ego inside to admit this truth to myself. I parked my car at an empty spot and soon enough I was on my way up to see him.

. I passed and opened Uri’s office without knocking. I was taken aback when I found Joyce alone seated like she owned the place. I scanned the room hoping to catch the face of the man I had grown to love but he wasn’t here.
“Where is Uriel?”
“Who is asking?”
“His wife.”
“You are no longer his wife.”
“I still have six weeks to own the title.”
“That’s sad.”
“Sad is you taking advantage of a husband quarrel with his wife to get in between. Its toxic and wrong.”
“He doesn’t deserve you, she deserves someone like me who can take care of him.”
“Where is he?!” I shouted and opened the door looking for him along the hall way.
“He is not here.”
I could not believe I was fighting for my man.
“Tell me something Joyce.

She stared at me unable to respond.
“Don’t you worry lady if he is willing to leave me for you then he is not worth fighting for. He is all yours.”
I reopened the office door still clutching the parcel and bumped in to Uri coming in.
“Ella!”
I stepped aside without a word.
“You didn’t tell me you were coming to the office.”
“Maybe if you picked up your phone when I called and listened to my voice messages you would have known but I see how busy you are.” I said throwing daggers at Joyce.
“Ella.” He said almost touching me. I stepped back further.
Maybe I was dreaming but I could see some sort of pained look in his face.
“I didn’t come here to cause trouble Uri, this parcel was delivered to our…the house yesterday morning and it was labeled urgent. I thought it may be important so when you failed to pick my calls I decided to bring it myself, I hope it was worth the trouble.”
In anger I shoved the parcel in his hand and left the office before he could lay his hands on me. I rushed to the elevator. I could hear him behind me running. This was getting old. I dramatically pressed the ground door button hoping that the elevator doors would close before he reached where I was. The doors closed but not before he walked in.
“Ella am sorry about whatever happened in there.”
“There is nothing to be sorry about, this is your authentic self.”
He swallowed hard.
“Do you love her?”
“The only woman that turns my wheels on is the one am talking to right now, the one I ran after.”
“Do you love her?”
“I don’t know.”
The elevator hit ground floor and the door opened. I stepped out of the elevator.
“I was scared about losing you Uriel. In my eyes I thought I was so wrong in whatever it is I did to push you away but now I am just relieved that there is this all other side of you I will never get to experience.”
