I try to breath normally in the tight space, counting the minutes down to when the limo will stop

Yes, I said limo.

Limo should have lots of space right? You would think so, until two great hulking men decide to box you into a seat.

I glare at Yoel, why is he baiting Kane? I thought he said he wasn't interested in me that way?

 

Why then does he find it prominent to seat so close to me?

"I can't breath" I gasp out.

"What? Why?" Yoel asks, I flick a look at Kane to see him looking at me in concern.

"You are taking up all the air in this place, could you move a little? It would be bad for me to die of lack of oxygen before we get to the police station" I say and he smirks.

"There's lots of space in this car, you won't die " He says and before I can point out that he was indeed right and he should scoot over the car comes to a stop.

 

Kane wastes no time in pulling me out, not even waiting for the driver to come around, his hand is at my waist and I give him a smile.

 

" I called ahead, the chief of the station is a family friend" He says, the chief of the station in the town I decided to hole up in is a family friend? Good thing I didn't make any trips down here because my cover would have been blown.

 

"Uh.. Did.

. Did you get anything? From the sweep Maurice did of my house" I ask, unwilling still to know the full details of everything.

I'm so scared that I have someone intruding into my personal space.

Kane suddenly stops before the doors, making me to stop too.

"Ani, look at me" He says and I lift my head, my fear escalating to another level.

"What is it?" I ask in a small voice and I hate that I'm sounding that way, he seems to hate it too because his face darkens.

I feel Yoel stop behind us but all my attention is on Kane.

"I want you to know that we will get the bastard, no matter what, you have to tell me right now if you want me to shield you and handle everything, or If you want to get involved, but either way I will be taking care of you" He says, looking into my eyes.

I can't look away even if I wanted to.

 

I don't want to think that there's that kind of  evil alive, that some people are out there doing things that make people insecure but I also can't deny that I can't let Kane handle this alone, as much as I would like to.

It's not fair to him and it's not fair to me either.

I nod and his eyes takes in all of my face.

"Are you sure darling?" He asks.

"I'm sure" I say, my voice stronger than it was before.

He smiles before raising his hand and patting my head.

"My good girl" My whole flushes as memories of other times when he called me that suffuses my body.

He grabs my hand before falling into the persona of Kane King, corporate lord.

 

I feel my shoulders rest as my body immediately becomes fluid, I've fallen into the role of Anadia King, wife of Kane King, Corporate Lord.

I'm wearing black slacks, with a burgundy camisole, a black jacket and six inch pumps, I've got rings in almost all my fingers and droppy bangles that jingles when I move.

I look the part of a Corporate lord's wife.

Kane is wearing a deep blue suit, his hair is combed back and the edges are still wet, he's got it behind his ears and if he turns wrong it gets into his eyes, have I said that I totally love his long hair? It brushes his collar as he moves.

Kane is to my left and Yoel is to my right, with his ripped Jeans and vintage blue sleeves paired with black sneakers? He looks like a fallen angel. 

 

The doors open and a man steps up to greet us. 

"King" He says in greeting, I thought the chief of a police station would be older but this guy looks like he walked out of a GQ Magazine. 

"Camden" Kane greets back and the man ushers us to a room. 

 

"I'm so sorry we are not meeting under better circumstances Mrs King, If I had known about this sooner we would have caught the asshole" He says, offering us a seat, his eyes flicking to Yoel for a bit. 

 

Kane produces a brown envelope which he empties onto the table, he grabs my hand softly and I know whatever is inside those photos or videos is something that I never want to know about. 

 

"My team went over this and we've established that the person behind it is a high risk towards my wife, we would appreciate it if investigations go on as soon as possible" Kane says. 

"Yes, You are right, we will review this, and based on the ones you sent earlier we would advise that she has a bodyguard in her at all times, we don't know the length the person is willing to go and how far gone he already is" Camden says. 

"You are sure the person is a he? Couldn't it be a girl doing this too?" I I ask, wind totally out of my sails. 

 

"Yes, well, that could be true but if you watch the videos you will see that the fixation of the person is on nothing else but you, that means that we would know if the person was a woman or not" He says and I nod, suddenly very tired. 

 

What did I do to a person to deserve this? All I wanted was to keep a low profile and get my broken heart healed. 

"We will take an official complaint from you now, we promise to look into this as soon as possible" He says and I nod. 

 

When I finish giving my statement, Kane thanks Camden before leading me out, Yoel and him boxing me in. 

Between the two of them I feel very safe. 

My phone rings before we get to the car and I stop to extract from my clutch. 

 

I freeze as I read the message, Kane freezes too when I freeze. 

"What Is it?" He asks. 

I hand the phone to him and he gives a loud curse. 

I know what he's probably seeing. 

A picture of me right now between him and Yoel and another of me exiting the car a while ago. 

 

Who ever that person is, he's around me right now. 

" Get back into the station" Yoel says when he gets a look at the photo. 

Kane leads me in and as soon as we clear the front doors the car gives a loud noise. 

I turn and gasp. 

The hood of the limo is on fire. 

The driver is in there! 

"F*ck" Kane says, his phone at his ear. 

"The driver, we have to...." I begin, Yoel is already on the move towards the car. 

I bite my lip, clenching my fingers. 

My phone dings and I look at it in dread, it's still with Kane, he curses as he reads it before handing it to 

'Next time it will be that asshole you call a husband' The texts says, the phone clatters to the ground. 

I push Kane inside and he looks surprised more than anything. 

He goes willingly with me and I'm glad. 

Because heaven knows I will kill myself if something happens to him.

So, this is what happened yesterday. 

I had these drafts but I didn't have the data to update it. 

Airtel did this funny thing where they took all my data, everything. 

Did anyone have this same issue?
