Regret - Episode 1
"Where are you coming from? ". Her husband's thunderous voice asked just as she entered the house. She couldn't speak. "where are you coming from ?". He asked again but this time very much louder. I... I'm.. I'm coming from a frien...before she could complete her sentence, he ran and gave a a deafening slap. She held her cheeks in a bid to minimize the pain but it was to no avail . He gave her another slap on the other cheek. It was blinding. She saw the stars that rotated her head. By this time she was already on the floor. She looked up and into her husband's eye, she saw anger. It was fury and burning. She watched as he removed his belt to give her the bouts of beatings she received every other day. It was only 9pm when she entered the house. She had honestly gone to visit a friend. On her way back she decided to go to her favourite spot and clear her head. Many things had gone wrong. Her marriage topping the list. She knew she was suffering but she loved her husband. Even after everything he did to her she still loved him very much. He was her first love. She didn't know who to tell her problems to. Even her friends thought her marriage was perfect. Deep inside she was alone

. So alone she didn't know what to do. Her husband cut her from her family only because he didn't want her adhering to negative family influence, when the only thing her mother did was to support her marriage. She was in deep thought that she didn't realize that time had passed so quickly. She took a quick glance at her wristwatch and it was 8:50pm. She quickly stood up and flagged down a taxi. On her way back home she remembered the kind of beating she received the day she asked her husband to buy a car for her. He accused her of wanting to go and visit her numerous boyfriends and that was why she asked for a car. After that day, the topic of a car never came up again. She was restricted to only the house and the market/grocery store. Rose was a full time housewife. Her husband Mike had three cars yet they were for him alone. Mike was rich. He worked in a multinational company. They were comfortable. She thought about all these on her way back home. She just prayed that she would arrive before Mike came back home, but she was wrong. She was in pain as Mike's belt wiped every part of her body. It was painful. Contrary to the popular belief that you get used to something when you receive it a lot ,it was a different case for Rose. She wasn't used to it at all. Every stroke of Mike's belt gave her endless pain. The beatings became more painful as the days passed. Her attention was drawn to the door leading to the corridor. She saw her four year old daughter sobbing. Sara had fallen ill that morning. She was sure her husband didn't even know about it. He didn't care. She cried in pain as she saw her sick daughter rush to try and stop her father. The little girl. She went to shield her mother from her father's wrath. Mike was so blinded with anger that he picked her up and flung her across the living room. He wanted to continue with beating Rose when she shouted to draw his attention to Sara. She wasn't moving. They went closer. Her body seemed lifeless. Then they heard a knock on the door.
