Pierced Rose - Episode 9

 

Reginah's friends and Brad's friends were at the parking lot making plans for the next weekend getaway.

"Guys, I have an idea for next weekend. I think we should go to a beach house.." Malcolm suggested.

"That's is a good idea but where???" Maggie asked.
"I bet Brad's beach house is okay. Its big to accommodate all of us and our girls.." Ben retorted doing his happy dance.

"Ladies are you bringing anyone???" Ben teased them.
"No, we don't know yet...plus my Greg will be working but I will try talking him into it.." Maggie responded, sadness in her tone. Greg always prioritised work before her.

"Okay." Ben replied.
"What about Reginah???? I think she should join us this time.." Mike said staring at them questioningly waiting for their responses but they all nodded with no hesitation apart.

"Is not gonna be that easy guys, Reginah has an obsession with working and missing  a weekend only to go for a vacation will drive her nuts..." Maggie crushed the excitement on their faces.

"We will have to find a way for her to say Yes," Mike retorted.," By the way where is Brad??? Or he is not coming, Let me call him.."

Mike dialled Brad's number and called him but he doesn't answer.

"He is not picking up.."
"About Reginah, she was insulted yesterday at the Club Ace and Brad took her home..I don't think she will be working there anymore.." Malcolm blurted out.
Maggie and Mary were shocked by the news.

Something dangerous happened to her best friend and neither her nor Greg so fit to tell her. They were gonna hear from her.

"What??? And she didn't tell me. Wait until I see her, she will see my wrath.." Maggie barked, hands on her hips..

"Come think of it, neither Brad nor Reginah are here or did they go to Brad's house???" Ben giggled but Maggie slapped his head hard making him shut up.

"Shut up  if you don't wanna lose your balls.." Maggie threatened.

Brad parked his car only for him and Reginah to see their friends chitchatting at the parking lot..
"Brad, remember you don't know me. And please no one should know I am working for you..." Reginah took his hand into hers.

"For that you need to kiss me darling, everything has a price.." Brad teased naughtiness in his eyes.
"You are a big fool, the only thing you will get is a slap at your torso. Now let's go..." Reginah slapped the upside of his head.

Before she could get out of the car, Brad pulled her and kissed her passionately, "You are so beautiful.."

Brad didn't wait for her response and walked out of the car...
Reginah tried to calm her nerves down since she knew her friends were gonna be suspicious of how she ended up in Brad's car.   She needed to be calm to formulate believable lies...

"There is our man," Ben shouted when he saw Brad approaching them making the others turn around to look at him.
"Why are you late bro??" Malcolm asked.
"A long night.." Brad pointed out dryly.
"And where is Reginah???" Maggie asked, worried lines on her forehead.
"She is okay, I took her home..."
"And why did you not tell me about the assault???" Maggie barked, shaking him by the shoulders, atleast she thought did..
"Calm down woman, she is fine.." Brad spoke softly, dropping her hands off him..

"Reginah!!!" They all said  in unison apart from Brad when they say Reginah coming out of his car.
"I knew it," Ben laughed, throwing his head back and laughed.
"Hey guys," Reginah smiled radiantly but they only sent her suspicious looks especially Maggie and Mary..

"What guys???" Reginah stuttered.
"Why were you in Brad's car???" Mike asked...
"He gave me a ride here..."
"And about yesterday, why did you not call me???" Maggie hissed, cupping her face.
"I was tired and still in shock.." Reginah hugged her," I am sorry I didn't tell you.."

The best friends were interrupted with Ben's allegations to Brad," Bro, you have a lipstick stain on your cheek..."
Ben wiped it out and smelt it," It's strawberry flavour.."

"Strawberry??? Reginah what do you have to say???" Maggie narrowed her eyes suspiciously..
"What???? I am offended," Reginah faked a sob," I don't know this guy, how can I kiss him???"
"Who said anything about kissing???" Maggie interrogated her.
"But how else did he get the lip stain???"
"I am asking you???"
"Enough, I don't know..." Reginah yelled rubbing the back of her neck.

Brad was shocked did Reginah just deny him infront of their friends.. That was really hurtful.
"Really Riri???" Brad gritted his teeth..
"Tell them, you found me by the road and pleaded to give me a ride. You almost went to your knees..." Reginah lied boldly and honestly speaking she was good at it....

"What???" They all said in unison again finding it hard to believe her. Brad wasn't the kind of a guy to beg a woman...

Brad was at a loss of words..
"See you guys later," Reginah said but before walking away Mike held her hand and Brad couldn't help his insides churning with jealousy...

"What is it Mike??? Let me go..." Reginah said harshly all she wanted was to get out of there.
"Sorry," Mike murmured looking away embarrassingly, he didn't understand why he did that.
"We just wanted to invite you to a weekend getaway next week..." Mike murmured.
"Don't bother, i can't go, I need to work and I am not in mood of some weekend whatever..." Reginah rudely replied and hurriedly walked away...

"I told you..." Maggie stated still trying to fill the gaps of how Reginah ended up in Brad's car and why Brad's lip stain smelt like Reginah's. She had to get at the bottom of that..

"So how are we gonna convince Reginah to go???" Mike asked, looking restless.
"Why are you insisting so much while her man is here???" Ben teased winking at Brad who had a serious look on. 

"Ben, I will beat you up..Enough with these jokes no one is laughing..." Brad grinned.
"It's only you bro," Malcolm stated and their group was filled with laughter..

"Enough with the jokes, we have to come up with a way to make Reginah agree to come with us..." Maggie said, tapping her chin.
"I will talk to her.." Brad stated and hurriedly walked away.
"Brad, we are going to your beach house in Mombasa.." Mike yelled," Okay.." Brad yelled back and continued walking.

"Those two are acting so weird," Ben stated," For once in your miserable life, I agree with you.." Maggie placed her hand on his shoulder..
