Change was the only thing Reginah kept praying for. She need a break from all that, its draining all her energy.

"Mum, I am not coming back until late night. I need to work till later." Reginah hollered taking milk from the refrigerator.
"Your boss should give you a break or are you going to see your boyfriend???" Diana placed her arm around Reginah's shoulder giving her that cheeky look.
"Mama, am not dating. I don't want my life to turn upside down" Reginah  replied grinning.

"I was just joking baby, don't be mad at mummy . I know I haven't being a role model when it came to relationships." Diana faked a smile holding her hands up. Still hurt from what happened years ago..

Reginah looked away since her mother was right about one thing, she wasn't a good role model when it came to relationships. But Brad made her feel special, she couldn't resist kissing him. No matter how much she tried to resist him, she always found herself giving in.

There was fire burning in her every time he looked at her. Her skin was in flames every time he touched her.  With him she felt able to submerge her fears for a while.

Suddenly she heard a snap on her face,"You thinking about him, aren't you??"
"Who??? " Reginah laughed  at her mum's expression on her face.
"My daughter is in love again," Diana rejoiced clapping her hands smiling.

Ignoring what was  happening, Reginah quickly gulped the glass of milk on her hand. It was getting more weirder by the time.

She looked down for her mother not to see her now heated face by the thought of Brad.  She was blushing and it was awkward

. Can somebody save me please??
"You blushing," Diana tattered pinching her left cheek.
"Am not." Reginah avoided her eyes.

Diana bursted into laughter making the room be filled with cackles of  laughter.
It was long since Reginah saw her  laughing, it was evident she was begun coming in terms with the harsh reality. She needed her mum back.

"I love you mum, see you." Reginah lightly kissed her on the forehead.
"Are your nightmares back???" Diana asked in a concerned tone.
"No mum, they are not back.." Reginah smiled trying to make everything look okay. If only her mother knew.
"But I heard you scream the......."
Reginah cuts her in," It was nothing, just dreaming of monsters." Reginah picked her bag and left but her mother wasn't convinced. She was worried, the nightmares were torture to her daughter back then and all she hoped was they weren't back. She didn't have the energy in her to deal with that now.

Being already six o'clock it was the best time to roll it in the club. It always acted as Reginah's distraction.

Reginah took a cab to the club trying so hard not to think of what had happened the yesternight and that morning.

She crossed her fingers praying to God that the boss was not mad or else he would say she  was fired right on her ass.

She  walked right inside ignoring the looks and the whispers while she bit her tongue in contempt. If gossiping was a career some people would be billionaires.

She went to the changing room to change when Daisy patted my shoulder. She is also a waiter at the club, a naggy nasty attitudinally whore.

"What?" Reginah thundered, looking behind her ear.
"The boss wanna see you." She replied in a rude tone.
Reginah's muscles suddenly felt tight and his palms sweaty.

She was scared out of her wits. Was getting fired??? How was she gonna pay her bills?? How was she gonna survive that??

As she entered Mr Kiplagat's office, her breath came in gasps and she felt like collapsing.

"Sir, you sent for me?" Her heart hammered so fast in her chest like it belonged to a rabbit running for its skin.
"Have a sit Reginah," He stated, pointing at the seat she was to sit at as he comfortably swung in his.

Reginah was doing  weird shapes with her fingers to ease the tension.
"I heard about yesterday and I really made some losses. Instead of cutting off your salary for an year, it will be better you look for another job," He put up a small smile on his face which looked threatened.
"Sir, please don't fire me. It was a mistake. It wont happen again." Reginah could feel her walls crumbling as she placed my left hand on his.

"I have already made up my mind," He pulled his hand away as if he had touched something disgusting," here." Placing an envelope on top of her now stationary hand and walked towards the window.

"It was nice working with you." He stated,  his eyes stuck outside the window. Reginah took the envelope and walked out.

She also had some pride left, it was clear his mind was made up.

She bumped into Greg as she tried wiping the tears that were balancing on her  bottom eyelashes.

"Are you okay?"Greg asked lifting her chin up.
"I got fired," tears bursting forth as a dam as she threw herself on his chest.
"You should blame on Brad, he was here earlier.." Greg rubbed his back as he talked with remorse.

"Brad?" She confirmed in confusion wiping the tears from her face. Greg  nodded holding her back.
He must have had other things to discuss with the Boss, why would he want her fired?? They were friends for Christ's sake. Or was he getting back at her for denying him infront of their friends???

"Let me call a cab for you???" Gael suggested as he walked me out of the club.
"About you and Maggie, how do you feel?" She really didn't know how to stop myself from asking.
"Am okay, just giving her space." he shrugged but the words from his mouth and the look on his face had different opinions. He was still guilty.
"I got you, always G." Reginah gave him a genuine smile.
" I know," Greg winked at her.

. He was really a friend for keep.

"Don't worry, I will take the bus. I need to save up..."
"No, I will pay for it.." Greg assured, his arm around her waist.

"Riri!!!Riri!!!!" Reginah heard Brad calling  out at the parking lot. Shivers and excitement were bubbling in her chest but she tried so hard not to show it.

They turned around with Gael and faced him, his arm was still snaked around my waist.
"Brad, what you doing here?" Reginah questioned pinching Gael to let go of her as Brad's eyes were narrowed on my waist.
"Can we talk?" He requested.

"Let me beat him up," Greg whispered in her ear wanting to walk forward to Brad.
She held tightly onto his hand signalling him she got this.

"If he disturbs you, just call me. I miss trouble." Greg hissed, "Here is some money for a cab," Greg whispered, kissing her on the forehead and headed back to the bar.

"Thanks G," Reginah shouted and Greg gave her a thumbs up.

"Did you get me fired?" Reginah enquired walking towards him while trying to make my breathing even.
"Yes I did, I was worried." Brad boldly replied, wearing on an unapologetic look.

Shock was  registered on her face and before she could slap him, a small smile played on his lips.
"Why?" My anger suddenly replaced with curiosity.
"After what happened yesterday, I would have been a fool to let you work here again," Brad Put on his serious look but his warm soft eyes were still there," I care about you and that's why I made him a deal he couldn't refuse. At first he was reluctant but I did some tricks." He continued.

"Now listen spoilt brat," Reginah raged," unlike you I have bills. I have to work to help out my mother, I need money. Who gave you the right to do that??? Are you my father, brother???? Who are you??? You are nothing..." She barked.

"Brad Muigai, if you can't help don't add up to my problems. I would rather have you stay away from me, I will tell your mother I am resigning.. Do you think out of your good deed, I would eat from that??? Fool..." Reginah growled.

Brad's heart fell in his stomach. Every word was clipped and punched into the air. It would have been kinder she killed him than tell him those words.

"But Reg...."
"Dont..." Reginah rolled her eyes, lifting her hand  up," Not even a word.."

Reginah called out a cab and walked away...
Brad was left there heartbroken.
He was just trying to help but no he made things worse..

Such a pity. You should first arrange another work for her before negotiating in getting her fired.
