Their relationship however hit the rocks sometime close to her delivery. That annoying friend of hers, Trevor Curtly was getting too close to her in ways that made him boil in jealousy.
Apparently they'd been best friends since she was sixteen. She was closer to Trevor than she was to him and it made him jealous and which made her mad. ' I've never had to answer to any guy since my father left and I'm not about to start now . You can't control me Alex, I'm a full grown woman for Christ sakes,' she'd screamed at him.
He'd gotten so mad, he'd gone back to Spain that night. A month later she'd given birth to a beautiful set of twins. A boy and a girl. She hadn't even bothered to call and inform him. He only heard she was at the hospital from the media. He got so mad as his thoughts ran wild and he imagined that slime ball Trevor putting his name to the certificates. He called a friend of his in Kenya and asked him to steal one of the babies plus both the certificates and take them to him.
Olivia had been broken to learn her son had died before she got the chance to see him. That was the story the doctor gave her when she came to a week later. It had been a difficult delivery

. She'd bled out and almost died but they were able to save her life. Truth is Alejandro's friend had paid the doctor a million dollars to switch out one of the babies with a dead one before she came to or anyone realized. That for a Kenyan doctor who were constantly going on strike over salaries was alot of money. So he'd done it. He'd switched Max Montero with a child's body on it's way to the cremation centre and paid the cremator a hundred thousand Kenyan shillings to burn something else and present the ashes to the dead child's parents. What he'd not realized however was Trevor being who he was had a natural distrust for people and therefore had mounted a mini camera in the nursery as soon as the twins were born. So he'd captured the switch and the conversation as to what is to befall the child. The doctor had second thoughts at the last minute and wanted to be sure the child was not going to be used for rituals or have its organs harvested and sold in the black market. For one, because his conscious would never let him be as he was a father himself, and two, because if the truth ever came out, it would be better to know for sure the child was alive. It was no secret Olivia Michaels could be cold and ruthless when she chose to be. So it was a relief to know the child would be taken to his father.
The day Olivia woke up was the day Alejandro was receiving his son. He compensated his friend and left for home. On getting there he decided to destroy the certificates so Curtly would have no claim on his children. On second thought, he decided to read them first to confirm Olivia's betrayal but was shocked beyond words when he read them.

After reading both certificates, he realized the gravity of what he'd done. She never betrayed him. If anything, by naming them after his parents, Maximiliano and Fernanda,despite their rift, she'd shown she's a better person than him. He hadn't realized she left instructions on what the certificates were to say before she went into labour. She would never forgive him. That he knew. He however decided to make things right by taking Max back to his mother. Whatever happens, they would sash them out and try to be a family.
'I should have shown her a little more trust and never left,' he'd said to himself as he got into the jet to fly back to Kenya, his infant son in his arms.

" That son of a b*ch," he screamed after watching the full video," I knew it, I knew it, I knew it, she should never have trusted him."
He rants for a while then sits.

He then moved to the capital and changed his name to Curtly, after his idol international arms dealer Trevor Curtly, whom he eventually named his son after.
