Chapter 10
Naya stood there long after he left processing everything he'd told her. This was her family, but she couldn't remember any of them. Then again, it could explain the strangeness if the past couple of minutes. But, her family? Did it mean she was married to that annoying man? There is no way!
"C'mon Naya. You knew you had a past, it's not like you dropped from heaven," she told herself, gently slapping her head with her palm . If this really was her family, she had to start learning everything she could about them, at least until her memories returned. The worst thing she could do as a human being would be to ignore her kids.
She slowly railed in her flailing thoughts and emotions and climbed up the stairs to the boy's room. She stood at the door for a while before knocking.
"Come in," came the sweet voice. She felt strangely warm.
She walked in and closed the door behind her.
"I was hoping we could talk," she says sitting beside him on the bed and holding his hand. He felt strange. Not even his mother had been so easy around him. He always felt like there was an edge to how she behaved with him.
"Uhm...sure, no problem, what about?"
"Well, I'm going to be totally honest, when I woke up a couple of months ago, I had no memory of who I am or where I'm from. Coming here, I thought I was going to heal

He smiles, he can tell she's uneasy and is trying not to hurt his feelings. It reminds him so much of Jay, so adorable.
"Why are you smiling?" She asks confused.
"Nothing... Would it be such a bad thing if you were...our mom?"
"No, no. I actually already feel strongly connected to you and your sister, despite having just met you. It's my being married to your dad I have trouble wrapping my mind around."
At that he laughed out loud, "Yeah, he has a way of making everyone feel that way. Not the married part but I get you, trust me. You'll get used to it."
She rolls her eyes, " That's what I'm afraid of," she mutters under her breath.
He laughs so loud tear come out of his eyes.
"What?"
"Nothing, I'm just surprised.

She smiles and gives him a kiss on his forehead, " I love you son... Wow! I know it's soon, but calling you son feels right. I like it. See you at dinner."
"See you,...mom... you're right, it feels right."
She stops by the door and looks at him, " How long has it been, since I was gone?"
"Jay keeps better track. It affected her the most, badly... almost two years but for her, it felt like forever and truth be told, for me, it feels like I'm meeting you for the first time and at the same time, like I'm meeting a long lost friend. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the future holds. Then again, I'm just a kid so you probably shouldn't be listening to me."
She smiles, "who's Jay?"
"Oh! Dee Dee. I call her Jay...my sister," he tells her seeing she was still confused.
She nods and leaves.
