Chapter 11
She goes to her daughter's room and gently opens it. She's still out. She goes in and gets into bed with her. She strokes her hair. I don't know what it is about you I don't get but one thing is for sure, I'm going to love being a mom. To you and your brother. In reality, Dee had woken up moments before she came in but closed her eyes as soon as she heard the approaching footsteps. So she heard every single word her mom said . She was afraid to open her eyes and realize this was just a dream. She didn't think she could stomach it if she woke up from this beautiful dream and her mom was really not there.
Naya kissed her and got up to leave when Dee suddenly woke up and held her arm firmly, "Please, don't leave. Stay here with me." Naya smiled and came back," So you were awake already."
"I just wanted you close. I never thought I'd get to see you again yet here you are. I still can't believe it."
"Well, whatever happened before, I'm here now and never leaving again. Let's start anew. We can get to know each other again and see what happens, deal?"
Dee smiles, "Okay, deal."
The next few weeks were intense, their tutor had arrived from Karachi shortly after them and lessons had resumed as usual. Naya didn't like him at all

. She felt he was turning her babies into psychopathic maglomeniacs. Plus, she felt he enjoyed hitting them way too much. This wasn't training, it was abuse. She'd tried complaining to Amir to get the tutor to ease off but the answer she always got was, "It's a tough world, if you want to raise tough kids who can survive it, that's how."
When the tutor had found out she didn't approve, they had gotten into a huge argument and become enemies.

. Her time with the kids however was fun and serene. They always made each other happy. She tried talking to them when no one else was around. She'd be damned if she let these ignorant men completely destroy her babies. She'd try if it killed her.
There was one day however when she realized just how much her work was cut out for her. She and the kid's tutor had gotten into one of their huge arguments when he'd tied them both up, chained them to weights and dropped them in the middle of the pool throwing the key just outside their reach. He'd told them they had to figure a way out on their own. She'd gotten so mad when they'd been under five minutes and he still wouldn't help them. By the time it had gotten to seven minutes, she'd had a meltdown, calmed down, had another meltdown and got full on ballistic. At ten minutes, the tutor had finally had enough and snapped, he figured since no one would see him, there'd be no consequences. So he made a mistake the wouldn't live long enough to regret.
"Shut up you hysterical woman and let me do my job," he'd yelled as he gave her a hard slap just as Dee and Amin emerged from the pool.
