Love-Life of Asante - Episode 24

 

And so it was like Asante and Gideon will never meet again. Two weeks after they first saw outside the library, they had not seen each other again.

Even though Asante had given Gideon the impression that she was probably a no-go area, she has however found it difficult to stop herself from thinking about him. Now she wishes she gets the opportunity to meet him again . “I should have just given him a chance!” She had even thought.

Gideon took no exemption to this however. The thought of Asante could not leave his mind, his heart, his brain and his sight. He had even made it a thing of duty to always go to the library thinking and hoping that one day he would meet her again. That day seems not to be getting closer.

Gideon was also a final year student but for four years of them being in the same school, they had never come in contact before. After the first time they saw in the library, it seemed like they would not be able to see themselves again.

Good or bad, fate though always have a bigger plan. Even though most times it’s bigger than the original plan we may have had or even thought of.

And so fate made the pan and they meant again. Beside the ATM Gallery of the most popular shopping complex close to the Faculty of Agriculture.They had come in contact once more.

"My princess! So we meet again." Gideon called out as he smiled to her.

. In her heart however, joy was an understatement.

"Even though you haven't been courteous enough to tell me your name, I would however appeal that you be humble enough to accept the one I have for you – Queen. That’s what befits you the most" Gideon said to her as he smiled further with his fore tooth almost falling off.

"I think it should be the other way round. You were not gentle enough to have asked me my name. Meanwhile I will however appeal that you be humble enough to swallow your pride, wash it down with a bottle of coke and keep your propose name to yourself as my name is Asante. And my Queenly nature is in me already" Asante replied as she smiled too knowing she had given him better clap back.

Soon they both laughed together. And the rest became history. They had soon become friends and later lovers. And everything happened so fast that one would easily thought Asante had been waiting for a relationship all these while. However she wasn’t, love did not just allow her brain to give consent before entering her heart. She was in love with Gideon.

She was already 23 years old, gradually approaching 24 and a final year student who would soon graduate from the prestigious Kenyatta University, Nairobi. If she doesn't go into a relationship now, when then? Moreover, all her age mates seems to be in one. But is that a right motivation? Well...

“So finally, Asante has seen the one that she has finally fallen for oh" Adesuwa said to Ayo and Asher who came visiting that evening. Of course Akosua as her custom was, was cooking in the kitchen for the visitors – Ayo and Asher. Pepperish food of course.

"Are you serious? Awnn Awnn. I feel so happy for her oh" Ayo said as his face was full of excitement.

"That's good news then. She has really tried. Agreeing to date someone else after all she had gone through then would have definitely been a tough decision for her. But am happy she took the decision at last" Asher who has now become bonded to them said.

"Where's she sef?" Ayo said wondering why she wasn’t around.

"What do you expect? She went on a date with him na. Their so called love started just yesterday. And it seems to be shacking them now. I could remember that was how you used to take me out on dates then" Adesuwa said making mockery of Ayo who was no longer taking her out.

They all then laughed together and Ayo said "Don't worry baby, let us do and graduate.

. When I get a good job, I will make sure I take you round the world. Especially to the Bahamas, your dream county.

"Awnn Awnn" Adesuwa said responding to Ayo. "I can't wait to see that happen oh" She added. She was still talking however when the voice from the kitchen cut her short.

"Asher, hope you have heard also oh. Ayo wants to take her round the world. Mine is just to take me back to Kumasi and see my parents. Am tired of this country of theirs" Akosua said aloud from the kitchen.They all then laughed together.

And so now, each one had a lover. Adesuwa had Ayo, Akosua had Asher and Asante had Gideon. But as usual, Asante was always unfortunate with love. What happened next is in episode one. What led to it, in subsequent episodes.
