I went straight to the ward where I left dad only to find nurses folding the sheets. I couldn'tbelieve my eyes as I looked at them . One of them came to me but I asked her not to say anything. Tears were rolling down my cheeks as I wiped them with the back of my hand . I heard my phone ring and it was faruk. I ignored it as I moved slowly towards the exit . What am I going to do now? I asked my phone as I was still lost in thoughts a text message interrupted me . I looked on the screen and it was from immy.
Hey sister dad is fine and we have gone back home. He passed out because of shock but his ok and we're at home right now. Join us if you don't mind. I looked at my phone for over ten minutes .I had worries by making things worse in my head. I was imagining the worst case scenarios. I called my hubby and he picked me up. Dad has been living in masaka for a year now but its today I realized I don't even know where he lives.
We arrived at the place and I quickly went to see dad. His resting immy called after me but I didn't listen. I found him lying on a small bed with his eyes closed

. He looked so peaceful. Imara my child ,he called out opening his eyes. I looked at him and its as if he has been waiting for me. Come and sit here ,he said tapping on the bed beside him. I slowly sat beside him placing yunusu on my laps.
Am sorry child, I know its so hard for you to forgive me after what you went through with your mom, I truly understand if you don't want to see my face. Am indeed a shameless man and an incompetent father who couldn't even trace the whereabouts of my own daughter. Am so sorry child for being your dad. I wanted to ask for your forgiveness at least before I die. I want you to be happy in this world.
I wanted to stop him but I couldn't find my tongue . Tears were rolling down my cheeks and had no hope they will stop soon. He held my hand in his as I cried my heart out. I wanted to cry out all the pain I had inside . Am sorry dad, I broug........ just then immy hugged me and said,"its ok sister lets forget the past and move on as a happy family. I wanted to confess what I had done to him.
Mommy helped him sit and we all sat in total silence. He took yunusu from me and started talking to him as if he understands what his saying. This boy looks like you dad,immy remarked and we all laughed. We spent the day together and later in the evening faruk picked me up and we went home. Come back tomorrow please dad said before our car left the compound.
We drove home and I felt my heart at peace. Faruk made fun of me and we both laughed. I thought of everything I had done and I remembered what immy had told me.

The next day I woke up very early in the morning did my house chores and he ( faruk) drove me to dad's place. Mommy had spent the night there. We Spent some good time together as family. I took them at mom's graveyard and later we went to the mountain. We had a picnic and it was the first time I experienced father's love. He calls us kids yet we are both married. He showed a lot of love to my baby and couldn't let us take the baby from him unless I was going to breastfeedhim . This boy will grow up to become a superman he said and we all laughed.
