I weeded the beans in the banana plantation, Cut down a banana which was ready, collected some firewood and went back home at around seven in the morning. I woke my siblings up as I was preparing some tea for them in the kitchen. As usual mubiru started crying since its his daily routine crying in the mornings before school. I served them tea with some sweetpotato leftovers from yesterday's meal and sent them off to school . Imarisha take care of your brother, I said whilst seeing them off. I hurried back in the house, picked up my tools and left to Mr.Lwanga's farm to pick coffee.

. Going to Mr lwanga's farm you pass through a sand mine. When I look at its sands, I imagine all the millions of people in the world who were born equal, even if the world has not been fair to all of us.It's vastness help me to meditate and when I see the Sun coming up over the horizon, my soul fills with joy and I feel closer to the creator. As I was still standing I heard a tap on my shoulder and as I turned I saw Namuli my best friend. What are you doing here?  Namuli queried

.  Are you thinking about your mom again? No I said nonchalantly. Did you know a banana can teach you the meaning of life , she said with a smiling face. A banana? I said turning my full attention to her.

Yes a rotten banana is life that has been and gone, a green banana is life that is yet to come for which we need to wait until when the moment is right. A yellow banana is a present moment. She tapped my shoulder and said learn how to gobble it up without fear or guilt.

We hugged and each went our ways. I reached the farm and picked some ripe coffee and later went back home. Did some house chores, prepared lunch and went to pick mubiru from school.
